Chapter 3 - Last day

I stood before the door. My papers clenched in my hands. I was afraid to go in. But I couldn't stand here forever. So I reluctantly opened the door to find my father kicking my dog. I let go off my exam and ran to my dog terra, hugging her to protect her.

"You brat, you have a B and still cling to that mutt!"

"Please father, don't hurt Terra. She didn't do anything wrong…", I stood up and placed myself in between my father and dog, "I did!"

He slapped me in the face while screaming.

"Then you better get this mut out by tomorrow or else!"

After he left for his bedroom, I sighed out of relief and then turn to Terra. She luckily didn't seem hurt. I put on her collar and leash. We went out for a walk.

I wanted to clear my head. If I didn't get Terra a new home by tomorrow. Father might do worse than today to her. While I was having thinking Terra was wagging her tail and having a good time. I couldn't help but smile.

I already had an idea of where Terra's new home could be. I was concentrated on my education at school so I didn't talk much to others but on walks I was talking to every dog owner that I could. So I had a lot of friends in that area and I already had some candidates in mind for housing Terra.

Because I had time, therefore I went to every house from most trustworthy to least trustworthy. I knew that I needed to visit some later because they were out with their dogs or at work but that soon resolved itself. Since I found the perfect candidate at the third visit.

I told her that we couldn't take care of Terra anymore and that she needed a new home with my sad puppy face. The only thing having a face that looks sad when neutral is good for. She luckily always liked Terra and would take her in.

I told her I would bring Terra to her tomorrow morning. It was my luck that she could as that meant I could spend the rest of the day with my dog. So, I walked back home relieved having solved my today's headache. Tomorrow will come for the next but at least today is done.

I played with Terra all I could while packing her luggage. After packing was done I cuddled with Terra on the couch. I still remembered the time as she was a overly excited puppy. She hasn't changed much to the first time she jumped on me and I asked my mom what I should do.

At the very least I knew I could visit her whenever I wanted. She wasn't gone like mom. Even though I knew all that tears still came running down even though I thought I wasn't someone to get emotional about important matters. Here I am letting tears run into her fur while petting her.

I fell asleep after wailing my heart out.
