Batista POV
It happened so fast.
One second, Mira's fist came flying at Rain, landing a sharp crack against her chin. And the next?
All hell broke loose.
Rain didn't flinch. She didn't stumble. She didn't even blink.
Her hand shot out like lightning, fingers tightening around Mira's throat in one swift motion. Her grip was brutal—possessive, angry, like she wanted to crush the life out of her.
"Mira!" I shouted, stepping forward. "Rain, stop it! You're choking her!"
I reached for them, desperate to pry Rain's fingers from Mira's neck. But the moment my hand touched her arm, Rain turned with a snarl—and shoved me.
Hard.
I swear, I felt like I flew. My back hit the ground with such force I saw white. It felt like I'd landed a mile away. My ribs screamed in pain. I gasped, struggling to catch my breath.
