Batista's POV
"I don't need to think about it," I told Seraphina. "When do we start?"
Her silver eyes softened, almost pained. "Are you sure? If you need time—"
"There is no time." My voice broke, but I steadied it. "Just tell me when… and where."
She sighed, folding her hands before her. "Now. But not here. The sacrifice will be done in the woods."
My stomach twisted, but I forced myself to nod. "What do I need to do?"
"You don't have to do anything yet," she said gently. "Go say goodbye to those you care about. I will give you one hour. My sisters will prepare her."
My eyes drifted back to Rain. Her small frame lay motionless, streaked in dark stains. My chest tightened until I couldn't breathe.
"She'll be alright until then?" I whispered.
"She will be fine." Seraphina touched my shoulder, her voice steady. "Trust me."
