Chapter 309 Happy and Aggrieved Alexander
The Great Hall felt unusually empty after Harry left. In the quiet that followed, Alexander lifted his glass of milk and took a slow sip, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"Alexander, what are you smiling at?" Hermione asked suspiciously as she studied her reflection on the polished golden plate, as if checking whether something embarrassing had stuck to her face.
"It's nothing," Alexander answered casually, waving it off. "I was just wondering whether Ron will come up with a nickname for Harry that's even funnier than 'The Three Musketeers.'"
Hermione accepted the explanation without pressing further and bent her head back over her breakfast.
But what she didn't know was that Alexander wasn't smiling because of Ron or nicknames at all.
Everything happening today was unfolding exactly as he had planned.
Last night, long before the commotion began, he had carefully arranged every variable.
All the unreasonable impulses Harry and Helena experienced today… those weren't accidents.
They were nudged — gently, subtly, deliberately — by Alexander.
Well, except for Harry's emotional zig-zagging over Cho Chang. Even Alexander couldn't predict that kind of romantic turbulence.
Still, aside from himself, every other boy seemed hopelessly foolish.
Ahem. Off-topic.
The key point was simple: Alexander only needed Helena to reveal the Ravenclaw Diadem at the precise moment she smiled sincerely.
So he had hidden the crown inside a statue the night before, awakening and strengthening the ancient enchantments Rowena Ravenclaw had left behind.
Helena needed to believe the magic came from her mother — and Alexander made sure she would.
Honestly, choosing the Diadem as a Horcrux was one of Voldemort's few genuinely smart decisions.
A Horcrux's magic preserves the vessel, preventing decay and maintaining it near its peak state.
If the Horcrux is an object, it doesn't rust or wither.
If it's a living creature, it never ages.
As long as neither the object nor the living host is destroyed, the caster cannot be permanently killed.
Because of that, over thousands of years, even the faint remnants of Ravenclaw's own magic had survived.
Voldemort had forcibly aged the Diadem as a disguise, but underneath, the original brilliance was still there.
Alexander realized this only after Jerry digested a fragment of Voldemort's soul.
And since the Diadem itself held no use for him, he repurposed its magic to carry out today's plan.
Helena would heal.
Harry would pay for being too careless.
And balance would be restored — or at least, Alexander's version of it.
This had absolutely nothing to do with Harry laughing earlier about Alexander juggling Hermione and Luna at the same time.
None whatsoever.
This was justice.
A necessary grinding of the savior's ego.
Yes. All for Harry.
And then there was the final twist Alexander added — the ghostly crown.
A variable meant to attract the attention of only one person:
Dumbledore.
Alexander wanted to see whether the headmaster could unravel the enchantment.
Whether ghosts who could taste food might eventually recover magic.
Whether they could regain physicality.
Whether immortality through ghosthood was the next stage of magical evolution.
And if so… would the God of Death intervene?
Would the Elder Wand push Dumbledore toward certain choices?
He had introduced a chess piece to lure Death itself into play.
Based on Alexander's calculations, Death was likely a "Level Seven" entity — the strongest in the world.
Alexander could only fight Him evenly if he ignored the limits of his mortal body.
But Death never left His own realm.
Unless, of course, wizards gained a path to immortality that displeased Him.
If that happened… that would be Alexander's chance.

"Why are you smiling so sinisterly?" Luna asked suddenly. They were already seated in Charms class; Alexander hadn't even noticed the transition from the hall.
"That's not sinister. It's a smile of wisdom," he corrected immediately.
Anyone watching him from afar would've been shocked to find three Alexanders simultaneously attending Hogwarts:
one in the Great Hall,
one in Charms,
and one in Potions.
This was Aquaman-level multitasking on a scale far beyond what normal students could comprehend.
"If a guy with bad intentions toward you is about to suffer because of his own idiocy — all thanks to your brilliance — I think you'd smile too," Alexander added, glancing at Luna.
Once again, he silently thanked the Smith family bloodline.
Their passive magic let him openly spend time with Luna without misunderstandings or unnecessary drama.
In his previous life, when he was still Zhou Yi, life hadn't been so easy.
He had suffered far too much because of his annoyingly good looks.
He always thought university would be better — that girls would value the brilliant inner qualities of his perfect soul.
But before he could even step foot into uni, life threw him across worlds.
Before he could fall in love, he found himself reborn somewhere completely different.
While Alexander was still lamenting his single youth, Luna spoke again.
"No, I don't feel happy," Luna said seriously. "It actually makes me unhappy."
He blinked.
Wait. What?
Was Luna really that saintly?
Feeling empathy for someone who had bad intentions toward her?
"You just had bad thoughts about me," Luna said quietly, lowering her head.
Alexander froze.
Oh.
Oh.
Luna didn't mean empathy.
She meant him.
Alright, little Luna.
Listen here.
I am a gentleman.
A respectable, honest young man!
The successor of righteousness!
How could I possibly—?!
He put on his purest expression, eyes wide enough to shame angels.
"What bad thoughts would I even have?" he protested inwardly while outwardly keeping a perfectly innocent face.
He was practically radiating purity.
"My father said you're the kind of boy who tries to trick people into having children," Luna said softly.
Alexander almost choked on his own magic.
"What did I even say about having a baby?" he muttered weakly, utterly defeated.
He was an atheist!
Why was he being framed like this?!
The injustice burned deep in his soul.
