A person who thinks they are evil has a soul that reflects it. It doesn't matter your crime, no matter how minor or large, if you deem yourself innocent then your soul is pure and clean. If not, it's dirty and filthy. Eventually, when it darkens beyond the point of no return, the "Tar Soul" stage, a soul will ascend after death to become a demon.

However... On the other hand, if a soul who hasn't reached the point of no return manages to absorb the negative energies within an ascended soul...

They become an Angel.

And Angels are stupid rare and stupidly tasty to demons. Which is why I'm staying the hell away from anything supernatural. I just want to live a normal, non-fucked up life...
