Chapter 361: Can See Her Feet with Just One Glance
After agreeing with Shirogane Miyuki that he would teach him how to dance, the two of them didn't say anything more backstage. There had been so many things going on lately that Sakurai Saki also needed to lend a hand.
"Sakurai, go help Nakano a bit, will you? She's too short, she can't reach that spot."
Shirogane Miyuki pointed toward the little bunny hopping around not far away as he spoke.
Sakurai Saki looked in that direction and saw Yotsuba standing on tiptoe, holding some decorations in her hand, but she still couldn't reach the spot she wanted.
The scene was so adorable that Sakurai almost burst out laughing.
He greeted Shirogane, then walked toward Yotsuba.
Coming up behind her, Sakurai took the decoration from her hand and helped hang it up.
"Thanks… huh? Sakurai-san, you finished talking with President Shirogane already?" Nakano Yotsuba thought someone kind had come to help her, but when she turned around, she realized it was her tutor.
"Just a small matter, didn't take long." Sakurai Saki looked around at the layout — the center was still empty, surrounded by tables, probably for food later; the outer part of the building had a balcony extending outward, and the morning sunlight shone through the transparent glass, lighting up the ballroom hall.
"Just now, President Shirogane's expression was so serious, I thought it was something really important."
No, you're right — this is actually a very serious problem.
The president of Shuchiin's student council doesn't know how to dance — if the exchange students from France found out, it'd be a huge embarrassment.
"Yotsuba, do you know how to dance?" Sakurai Saki asked casually.
He didn't mean anything special, just asked.
"I don't, why?" Nakano Yotsuba asked curiously.
Could it be that Sakurai-san was planning to invite her to dance at the welcome party? But she didn't know how to speak French — what if someone started talking to her, what would she do?
"It's nothing. If you don't know, that's fine, I can find someone else."
Thinking it over, Sakurai Saki felt like that was a bit of a dumb question.
Six years ago, the Nakano sisters were still living a hard life — there was no way they had time to learn how to dance.
"I can learn!" Nakano Yotsuba said, slightly defiant.
As a girl, being excluded after being invited to dance just because she didn't know how to felt kind of hurtful.
"...No need." Sakurai Saki felt that one student would be enough.
It seemed Yotsuba had misunderstood him.
In truth, Sakurai was looking for someone to help teach Shirogane Miyuki how to dance — it would be too much if he had to teach alone.
The problem was, Sakurai himself wasn't that good either — his dancing skills were only average. He could manage for himself, but teaching someone else was another story.
Maybe call Chika...?
Forget it. Dragging her into this suffering with him would be a bit cruel.
After thinking for a while, under Yotsuba's disappointed gaze, Sakurai Saki took out his phone — then put it away again.
Just a moment ago, he was thinking of asking Ishigami Yuu if he knew how to dance. After all, the guy was from a rich family, so he probably did. But Ishigami Yuu didn't know about Shirogane Miyuki's useless side.
As Shirogane's close friend, Sakurai couldn't let him lose face in front of his kouhai-kun.
After thinking it through, Sakurai Saki looked back at Yotsuba.
'Eh? Is he about to invite me?' Nakano Yotsuba blinked her sparkling eyes, the bunny ribbon on her head bouncing slightly. 'But I really don't know how to dance, you know.'
Under her hopeful gaze, Sakurai Saki spoke:
"Among the five sisters, does anyone know how to dance?"
Nakano Yotsuba froze for a few seconds before recovering, her tone slightly disappointed: "Ichika does. Last time, in a movie she was in, there was a dance scene — she played a supporting role dancing with the heroine."
Sakurai Saki almost complained about why the supporting role was dancing with the heroine, but in the end, he held back.
Recently, Ichika had taken on some pretty interesting roles. The last one was a zombie movie — Sakurai Saki even went to see it with Hayasaka Ai — but Ichika's character didn't have much screen time, more like a background role.
But since she was so beautiful, she didn't look like a supporting character at all — she even stood out more than the heroine.
Some people are just born "main characters" — having them play supporting roles feels wrong somehow.
"Has Ichika been free lately?"
"She has. She's probably sleeping at home right now."
That answer… was so real that Sakurai Saki didn't even know what else to say.
Indeed, during a long holiday like Golden Week, it made perfect sense to just stay home and be lazy — why on earth would anyone come help Shirogane Miyuki clean up the hall?
Among the student council members, he was the only one who came. Today, Shinomiya Kaguya had gone shopping with Hayasaka Ai, and Fujiwara Chika was also there with her little sister, Moeha. Sakurai Saki didn't feel like joining, so he accepted Shirogane's request for help instead.
Don't assume that hanging out with those girls would bring any kind of "fan-service." Most likely, he'd spend the whole day as a walking luggage rack; and if he was unlucky, he'd get dragged straight into a shurafield.
Girls really were strange creatures — when weak, they couldn't even lift a shopping bag, but when strong, they could smash the skull of a cheating boyfriend.
"That love triangle movie she said she was going to film last time — is it done yet?" Sakurai Saki asked with a doubtful look.
He had heard about it.
"The male lead got into a car accident, so filming was stopped. Ichika didn't tell you?"
"I've seen her still attending school regularly lately, so I knew she wasn't busy, but the car accident part was completely out of my expectations." Sakurai Saki's mouth twitched slightly.
A car accident was a low-probability event, yet it had happened to someone you knew — that was truly unexpected.
The topic ended quickly.
In the end, Sakurai Saki still didn't tell Ichika about asking for help to teach dancing, for the same reason as with Ishigami Yuu — neither of them knew about Shirogane Miyuki's "other side."
As a result, in the end, he still had to call Chika.
"Hey, Chika, do you plan to teach Shirogane—" Sakurai Saki hadn't even finished speaking when the call was hung up.
...
"What's wrong, Fujiwara-san, who was that?"
Inside a large shopping mall, several girls were shopping for underwear — a forbidden zone for women only, where most male students didn't even dare to glance.
Chika put away her phone, then turned to Kaguya and replied, "A demon trying to drag me down to hell!"
"Don't understand." Shinomiya Kaguya couldn't care less.
She lifted the bra in her hand to inspect it.
The size, of course, was 70A. Seventy was the underbust measurement, and A was… never mind, too depressing to talk about.
"They've gotten bigger again this year." Fujiwara Chika quickly started browsing.
Kaguya glanced at her chest — which could practically be classified as "tank-grade" — and fell into thought.
That size could still get bigger? You've got to be kidding me.
"Secretary-chan, don't say things that make people jealous like that. You'll give me an inferiority complex," Hayasaka Ai chimed in.
"Are~, Ai-chan, the size you picked is pretty big too…"
Hearing the two chat, Kaguya turned her gaze to the last girl.
"Shinomiya-senpai, what's wrong?" Fujiwara Moeha tilted her head curiously.
"Nothing."
Shinomiya Kaguya spoke as she lowered her head, glancing down at her own feet.
A truly sad story.
