Chapter 2 - Survivors

All hope was lost as passengers faces were darkened with fear and anxiety.

Eira was lost in thought, looking for a way to solve the problem. She gritt her teeth, swallowed her saliva and headed straight to the cockpit where she found two pilots trying their very best to control the airplane from landing.

"Any luck". Eira spoke with intense convulsion.

"No ma'am, we can't stop this plane from crashing". One pilot said his hands jerking the control stick.

Eira looked at them holding the chair firmly as the whole plane was shaking.

"Then what are you guys still doing here, the plane his at a nose dive you guys will receive the harshest crashing and you're sure to die".

"No we won't!". The other pilot yelled, which made Eira stuttle a little.

Concentrating on his action the pilot couldn't look Eira straight in the eye, however he continued speaking:

"We are authorized pilots, this is what we were trained to do. What did you expect we should leave and stay with the passengers no we would rather die than do nothing. We will try our very best to land this plane at the very least it should minimize passengers casualty".

The other pilot looked at the Eira and smiled

"You know we heard everything, after such bravery which you're still doing now, how do you expect us to leave. Your speech inspired us and that's why we will stay even though it means certain death and plus you're not a pilot what business do you have here go sit with the others".

Eira nodded, trying to wipe away her tears as she could no longer stand the sight of these men bravery.

Before Eira left she could not help but to ask the name of the pilot

"What are your name, brave men?"

"Leo ma'am"

"You can call Kevin".

Eira was not done yet she took the pilot's mic and spoke into it:

"Everyone put on your belt and brace yourselves for the crash, there is nothing we can do expect to pray for our survival".

With that Eira departed for the cabin. She took a sit and strapped herself with a seatbelt and prepared for the inevitable fate.

As she close her eyes she could see her life flashing. In those flashes she saw her younger brother, her late mother and her best friend everyone she ever cared about, She even saw glimpses of the future.

When she saw the future, she immediately opened her eyes and a short sighed then she said:

"I survived".

With all the efforts of the pilots the plane took a complete nosedive hit the forest floors with a very loud thud which could be heard from 2 kilometers away.

Feeling extremely nauseated accompanied with high-pitched sound ringing in her ear drums. Eira woke up with a very stingy pain on her legs turns out she had a huge on her kneecap.

There was a lot of smoke in the air making filling Eira's and causing her to cough profusely. All of a sudden Eira's blurry vision caught sight of a small figure in the smoke, she wondered who it could be, could it be help or something else.

Yes, she was kind of right. Emerging from the smoke was the 10 year old girl from earlier, she too was coughing profusely.

The little girl saw Eira and immediately rushed to her aid, trying to remove the unyielding seatbelt.

"What are you doing here, there's still fire here it could ignite the fuel go!". Eira warned the little girl almost felt she was scolding her.

The girl did not look at Eira she was busy removing the belt off Eira.

"Am not leaving, Miss and besides everyone is dead there's no one to help out this forest, I don't want to alone. My mum is dead". The girl said tears wouldn't stop rolling down her face.

That is when Eira's eyes clearly saw the surroundings around her, indeed the girl was right people lay waste at different places on the floor.

Finally the seatbelt yeild and the girl was able to remove the belt from Eira making her free but not entirely she was still bound by the injuries on her kneecap preventing her from even standing let alone walk.

Without wasting time the girl tore her skirt using it as a piece of clothing to dress Eira's wounds.

Eira looked at the girl and was quite surprised on how resourceful and brave the girl was.

"What is your name kid". Eira asked with a calm voice.

"My name is Lola, Lola-Roswell". Lola replied while still tending to Eira's injuries.

"What' s yours Miss, I can't keep calling you Miss all the time, can I". Lola asked back.

"My name is Eira, Eira-Garrison". Eira replied back.

"Done". Lola said as she had finished dressing Eira wounds, Then she helped Eira get to her feet.

The two walked out of the destroyed plane and the first thing they saw; was the gruesome body of the pastor he head was smash on the floor with a metal bar sticking out of him.

Eira looked at the body with pity while Lola looked up with a bit of a shock.

"Look Eira!". Lola shouted her finger pointing to the sky. It was a red flare which illuminated the dark clouds.

Eira looked at the flare with disdain, she already knew who shot that flare. Indeed it was none other than Caspian Grey.

As much as Eira wanted to ignore the flare, she could not walk away because if she did she would only be putting herself and Lola life in danger. In order to ensure maximum survival and right now Eira was badly and without any help she could not protect Lola.

The distant between them and thr direction of the flare was quite far and it was already dark so they had to camp for the night taking any supplies from the wreck.

Eira had already calculated the distance from hind sight, and already knew the location from where the flare came from, so tracing it would not be problem in the future.
