Chapter 3 - End of Isolation

White, a color of purity. The color of angel wings from the books in their library. Softness and yet... it's the same color that can drive one mad, ensaring those who are gullible enough to make even the slightest microscopic mistake.

Unpure and filthy, it is what humans are.

It is what she is.

Suo laid there on the white floor, staring at the similar white ceiling. Cold, and hard. It was uncomfortable, as it was designed to be. Most times, or well... all the other times, it would be warmer.

Suo could recall it, the warmth she felt so that she wouldn't freeze. Maybe they forgot this time, or maybe that old fart was so angry it's an additional punishment. Well, they'd lose a good contendor for Alien Stage. A pity.

Suo eventually sat up, hearing footsteps outside the sealed door. The loud click echoed, and the door made a long creak before it fully opened.

"Your punishment is over." The cyborg walked in, holding it's usual gun. "Wash up and return to your quarters after eating dinner." The cyborg then stepped to the side, revealing the angry old alien from earlier at the judges pannel. Scripted words, trying to seem human.

All they're good for is being pawns.

"Be warned, it's all scrap." The alien spat out, as if gurgling and sluring its words as it approached Suo. Suo stood still, glaring at the disgusting being in front of her. "Ehehe... however, I could... give you something better." The alien giggled, one big red eye staring down at her as it's slimy hand was placed on the sleeve of her white gown.

"I'm... quite alright. I'll take the scraps, sir." Suo mumbled, feeling a twisting feeling in her gut. Disgust. Distain. Disturbing, even. All the negative words in the forgotten english dictionary, it all described these horrorfic creatures.

"Suit your self." He whispered, quickly growing agitated as he let go of the younger. "Take her away," the alien turned to the cyborg, "feed her, send her to sleep." The alien practically hissed, staring down at Suo.

"Upset I didn't accept his advances? Another reason to hate these creatures." Suo was grabbed by the arm, dragged off to the cafeteria. The hallways, dimmed.

Through the dark hallways, Suo never once stumbled. Memorizing the layout, the patterns one has followed over the course of a few years.

It would be any moment now... until she would be forced to participate in that hell, where creatures finding solace in having those who are weaker for entertainment. All because their vocal chords can not produce the same sounds ours can. Hunting for sport.

Suo would be brought back to the room after eating bread, enough to keep her full for the night. She was redressed, bathed, hopefully away from prying eyes. The thought made her shiver with disgust.

Always disgust when it came to those creatures. Aliens.

Suo walked over to the empty bed, quieting her footsteps so there were as soft as a mouse's. She laid down, glancing at the other bunk beds with those already sleeping. Most she knew weren't going to worry about her, they don't care. But Suo knew Oiron would have her head for breaking her promise in one day.

It was then a soft voice whispered to her, her name being called from above. Suo looked up, then tensing when she saw the same person from the singing test hanging themselves upside down to get a good look at her.

The same dark pink ponytails.

"En... You scared me." Suo spoke nervously around them. They uneased her to no end. "Did you need something?" Suo asked, sitting up and watching as En quietly flipped themselves and landed on their feet.

"No. Was just curious." They replied, turning on their heel and facing Suo as they sat in the lower bunk of their somewhat shared space. "You're always getting disciplined. Why don't you consider listening more often?"

There it was. That same indifference in their eyes. Suo swore it was like they were just a hollow, empty shell. Not an actual person. An actual person wouldn't have that constantly dazed gleam in their eyes- the white that stirred in the depths.

"I try. However, it seems like you make it effortless." Suo shot back, letting out a quiet sigh and scooting backwards- their back pressed against the wall with the sheets making a soft rustle.

"Do you not experience at least some sort of reprocussion?" Suo questioned, reaching their hand to slide off the glasses that were beginning to tip off her nose. "You make it look so easy, En." Suo mumbled, knowing it wasn't entirely her own fault for getting in trouble either.

"... Perhaps." En replied, then moving back to the ladder at the side of the bunk. "Good night." En climbed back up to their top bunk, the soft sounds of sheets rustling being Suo's cue that the conversation was summarily over.

"Right." Suo mumbled, confused by them immensely. It had been like that since the moment En had came to the garden, a year after Suo. En was younger, yet somehow, more reclusive and more focused on their own advancements. Strangely enough, they still retianed that weird white glimmer in their gaze.

Suo had to admit, she would rather be back in that cell than here. At least her death would have came earlier... Curse that uncontrollable timing...

A hit show for the alien population, known as "ALIEN STAGE", was currently looking for new condendors for the show. Young children, who would be brought up and raised in the prime conditionings of Ankat Garden.

The garden she, and all her other kind would spend the next years training for a life on the stage, that could be snuffed out at any moment.

Suo eventually laid herself down on the white sheets, pulling the white covers over her body while her head rested on the equally white pillow.

White, the color of purity and comfort. The comfort that would silence her worries for the evening. The comfort that would eventually never last when she would grow up.

Because, eventually, you will have to learn that things will never last. People, crops, the art and language that made us who we are.

"How sad." Suo mumbled, eventually letting themselves drift into unconsciousness, deciding to let the comfort happen before she would loose such luxury forever.
