Chapter 118 - Chapter 118: Thunder God Tribe Returns To Magnolia!

3rd POV

North of Magnolia, near Shirotsume Town, one of the few surviving Dark Guilds, Ghoul Spirit, was currently under attack by only three people.

"Who the hell do you think you are!?" "Haha, they must have a death wish to barge into our guild with just three people." "Hehe, that girl is pretty cute. After we kill the men, let's have some fun with her!" "Haha, perfect, I've been itching to kill someone!"

As dozens of dark mages surrounded the three figures, spouting aggressive nonsense, laughing crazily, and licking their lips, they held their weapons in hand, eager to inflict violence upon the intruder.

However, the three figures in question didn't seem the least bit afraid; in fact, they weren't even the slightest bit concerned for their well-being.

"Pathetic is what I'd like to call them, but to survive this long from Cooper, it's honestly impressive." Fried, donned in a red trench coat with a sword strapped to his waist, observed the surrounding mages with apparent disdain.

"Haha, well now that we're here, their good luck has run out!" Bickslow, wearing a half-piece knight helmet covering the upper half of his face, laughed in amusement, a hint of insanity within his laughter.

"Tch, did these low-life bastards just laugh at me? Disgusting, they deserve death!" Evergreen, dressed in a green fairy-like outfit, sported a disgusted expression as she spat onto the ground.

"Haha, alright, you fools, come and meet your makers!" Grinning, Bickslow gestured to the dozens of dark mages, successfully provoking them.

"Fools!?" "Who the hell are you calling fools!?" "Tch, arrogant bastard!" "Fuck you!" "Kill them!" "I'll make you regret this!" "You'll never leave here alive!" While the dozens of dark mages spouted profanities and other nonsense, they lunged at the trio, causing Bickslow to smirk while Evergreen snorted.

"The hell has the world come to for a mere dark guild to dare bare its fangs at a legal guild?" Muttering under her breath, Evergreen scoffed and lifted her glasses, revealing her greenish eyes that swiftly glowed.

With just a mere glance, roughly half a dozen mages were instantly turned into stone, causing everyone else to come to a halt as fear filled the air; yet, it's only for a brief moment as the ignorant grow furious and continue their charge.

"Haha, fools." Outstretching his hand, several flying totems emerged from Bickslow and floated in the air as they began to fire beams of light that exploded on contact, taking out multiple mages at once.

While Bickslow attacked the dark mages, Evergreen joined him by waving her hand-fan, causing golden dust to erupt from her body as it filled the area in a wide arc. The mages, overwhelmed with Bickslow, didn't even notice the golden dust until it was too late; the instant a dark mage touched the dust, it erupted into an explosion.

With both Bickslow and Evergreen attacking, even when facing dozens of dark mages, they held the absolute, overwhelming advantage; their enemies were being killed one-by-one, and none of them were able to fight back. As for Fried, he was just watching from the side, finding it pointless for him to interfere.

The loud, chaotic mess was enough to grab the attention of the master of the dark guild as the double doors on the opposite side of the room were busted open, revealing a bald, slightly decrepit old man.

"Master! Help us!" "T-They've already killed half of–Argh!" "H-Help!" "T-They're monsters!" Watching his guild, which he'd painstakingly kept hidden from Cooper, he furiously gnashed his teeth and grabbed his bent staff and glared at the three mages in the distance through the explosions and beams of light.

However, his fury immediately vanished as he quickly recognized the trio. "T-Those three. T-They're. T-They're the Thunder God Tribe!" Utterly terrified at the implication of the Thunder God Tribe, the decrepit man begins to furiously observe his surroundings, as if looking for someone. 'I-If they're here, that means THAT man is here! The only person rumored to match Cooper!'

While too engrossed in his own fear, he overlooked Fried, who had quietly arrived before him, his sword already unsheathed. "If you're looking for Laxus, then don't bother; he does not need to personally step in to take care of weaklings like yourself." Fried's voice was low as he swung his sword, slashing right through the man's neck, decapitating him.

The moment his head dropped to the ground, the explosions and screams that filled the hall stopped, prompting Fried to clean the blood from his blade with a flick of his sword and sheath it before turning around, eyeing the massacre of blood, torn limbs, and shredded bodies.

"Tch, can't believe such a weak guild could even be called a guild." Evergreen, her tone laced with disappointment, gently fanned herself while kicking a limb that happened to land too close to her. "Well, they did so through illegal means. What did you expect? Only weaklings take shortcuts." Softly landing beside her, Fried nodded in agreement with Evergreen.

"Aw, man, it's over already? My babies aren't satisfied yet!" Lamenting in sadness, Bickslow pouted slightly while tapping his foot, causing Fried to shake his head while Evergreen rolled her eyes. "C'mon, let's return to Laxus."

At his words, the trio left the dark guild, heading towards Laxus, who was sitting on a nearby cliff, reading the newest issue of Sorcerers Magazine. When the trio arrived, they were about to notify Laxus regarding their mission, the final mission they'd taken before they could return home, but they were stopped when they heard him speaking.

"Fairy Tail is terrible… Their members are foolish and aggressive… They fight amongst themselves… Spouting profanities… You'd think at least the Guild Master would be professional, but no, he was a drunkard who passed out mid-interview…" As Laxus read from the magazine, his magic power erupted from him, creating a column of intense lightning that prevented the trio from approaching.

"... With members like this, it's no wonder they cause so much destruction… The fact they're still a legal guild is a miracle… The only saving grace about Fairy Tail is its beauty, specifically Mirajane Strauss… All in all, Fairy Tail is an overrated, terrible, chaotic guild filled with aggressive and stupid members." Having finished reading, Laxus threw the magazine behind him in a fit of rage.

Picking up the magazine, Evergreen casually flipped through it with an irritated expression, only for her eyes to narrow when she saw the photos of Cooper. 'Hehe, so handsome.' While a faint blush graced Evergreen's cheeks, she continued to flip through the images while Laxus retracted his magic power and suddenly stood up.

"We've completed the mission, Laxus." Respectfully, Fried slightly bowed to Laxus, whose cloak aggressively flew, the faint remnants of his magic power pushing it. Raising his hand, pointing it at the guild in the distance, without warning, a massive lightning bolt from the heavens struck the building, creating an enormous explosion that erased any traces of the Dark Guild Ghoul Spirit.

"I've had enough. We return to Magnolia…" With eyes blazing with fury, Laxus sharply turned around, walking past the trio while Evergreen quickly hid the magazine before following him along with Fried and Bickslow. "I'll make Fairy Tail great again." The four vanished into the night, their figures disappearing amidst the forest.

Cooper POV

Entering the guild, I tossed Cana and Lucy, both of whom were slightly injured and exhausted, onto a corner bench while approaching the bar. "O-Owe." "I-I can't feel anything." Ignoring Cana and Lucy's groans and protests, I stole Macao's cup and downed it before sitting down. "Hey, that was mine, you brat!" "Too bad, drink it faster next time." While gritting his teeth in anger, Mira poured me a drink.

"Were you training Cana and Lucy again, big bro?" "Yeah, they need it, well, mostly Lucy, but since I'm at it, I figured I should get Cana to join. Thanks." Taking a swig, I licked my lips; alcohol wasn't usually good, but this one was. "Fufu, you sure that's not just an excuse to beat her up?" "Heh, not denying that."

"Anyway, how's that brat Romeo? You're doing a good job teaching him magic, right?" Eyeing Macao with a raised eyebrow, he scoffed and folded his arms. "Of course, he's my son, and are YOU doing a good job teaching him?" "Heh, still butt hurt he asked me to teach him my magic?" "You picking a fight, you brat!?"

Smirking, I downed my cup and smashed it atop Macao's head, causing his eyes to roll into the back of his head while his head fell onto the counter. Leaning against the counter, I looked around the hall, though I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow when I saw Gajeel writing something in the corner by himself.

Well, he's always alone. Even though it's probably been close to three weeks since he joined, no one really interacts with him. Growing curious, I stood up and approached Gajeel; he seemed really invested since when I arrived, he didn't even notice my presence. Standing off to his side, I looked from above, reading the contents of whatever he was writing.

"Huh, is that a song?" "Ahh!" Leaping into the air, Gajeel dug his hand into the wall and looked at me with a blush before dashing out of the guild, causing me to rub my head. "The hell?"
