The next morning, Yonezu made his way to Class B. The moment he stepped inside, he immediately sensed something was off. The atmosphere was heavier than yesterday-almost tense.
He scanned the room and realized almost every student had their eyes fixed on him.
He frowned slightly, tilting his head. "What's going on here?"
A girl approached him with a measured step. "Good morning, Yonezu. I hope you haven't forgotten about me. I'm Ichinose Honami." She extended her hand, her expression calm but serious.
Yonezu hesitated, then shook her hand. "Looks like you already know my name, but just to be clear, I'm Yonezu Haruto. So, what's this about?"
Ichinose didn't waste time. "The class heard some pretty shocking news from Kanzaki about the school system. Can you clarify it for us?"
Yonezu glanced at Kanzaki, then back at Ichinose. "Wow, you work fast," he muttered, then sighed. "I'd rather not repeat everything. Just ask what you don't understand." He took his seat, his tone making it clear he wasn't in the mood for games.
Ichinose paused, then spoke up. "We heard the points we'll receive next month won't be the same as this month. Are you absolutely sure about that?"
Yonezu leaned back, resting his head on his hand. "Yeah. That's right."
Ichinose pressed further. "How sure are you?"
"Ninety-nine percent," Yonezu replied without hesitation.
"And the other one percent?" she asked quietly.
He shrugged. "I could be wrong. I don't have solid proof yet."
"Yet?" Ichinose repeated, her voice barely above a whisper.
"There are a couple of ways to get it," Yonezu answered, his tone steady.
"Like paying with Class Points or Private Points, right?" Ichinose asked, her brow furrowed.
"Exactly," he replied.
She hesitated. "Are you really sure this information is accurate? It sounds... risky."
Without a word, Yonezu pulled out his phone and pressed a button. The voice of their homeroom teacher played out loud: "Well, if you want the answer, I'm afraid it'll cost you. Hundreds of Class Points! Hundreds of thousands of Private Points! Or maybe... a lifetime supply of chocolate for your favorite teacher?"
The room fell silent. Everyone was stunned.
Kanzaki was the first to speak. "Why did you record her?"
Yonezu's voice was calm. "Just in case. Looks like it came in handy."
He looked around the room. "As you heard, the information comes straight from our homeroom teacher. If you want to know more, you can ask her yourself."
Ichinose turned to address the class, but Yonezu cut in.
"But I don't think you should do that," he said quietly.
She turned to face him. "What do you mean?"
"You're thinking about using our Class and Private Points for the information, right?"
Ichinose nodded, her expression serious.
"Don't. I have a better solution." He allowed himself a small, knowing smile.
Ichinose started to smile, but Yonezu raised a finger. "But you'll have to buy it from me instead."
The class erupted in quiet shock.
Yonezu held up his hands. "Relax. It's not that expensive. Just 10,000 points from each of you."
Ichinose's eyes widened. "That's 390,000 points. That's a lot."
She looked around. The uncertainty in the room was palpable.
Someone in the back spoke up. "Let's just wait for Hoshinomiya-sensei. Maybe she'll give us a straight answer about what we need to pay."
Yonezu's tone grew firmer. "My offer's only good until the teacher arrives. After that, it's off the table."
The tension in the room grew. Some students muttered, "Let's just ignore him and wait for Sensei," while others whispered, "It's just 10k, right? If we get the info, maybe we can earn more next month."
In the midst of it all, Ichinose tried to calm everyone down. Kanzaki shot Yonezu a sharp look. "What was that for?"
Yonezu's voice was steady. "You didn't expect me to give out information for free, did you? I need points too."
Kanzaki shook his head. "Now everyone's going to be mad at you."
Yonezu just shrugged, unfazed.
A moment later, the door opened. Hoshinomiya-sensei walked in, her voice stern. "What's going on here? Why is it so noisy?"
Yonezu let out a quiet groan. "There goes my chance at 390,000 extra points."
