Chapter 6 - Estimated Chance Of Survival

"An Incubus huh."

As the system fell into silence, a strange sensation crept over him—his skin prickled, alive with a subtle charge, as though electricity threaded itself through every cell in his body.

Now that the Harem Incubus System was fully online, the effects of his physical enhancement surged through him—his muscles felt denser, more defined, yet his body moved with an effortless lightness, as if gravity itself had eased its grip on him.

"Awesome... Can't remember the last time I felt this good."

His gaze shifted to the mirror hanging on his door, its surface catching the light as he stepped closer.

His eyes widened slightly as his reflection stared back at him—his once short, unruly black hair had grown out, now falling in loose, defined curls that framed his face with an almost ethereal beauty.

His eyes, once a glossy black, had shifted to a deep crimson hue as the light dimmed, casting an otherworldly glow that flickered like embers beneath the light.

"Damn, did I always look this good? No, I always admired my pride each day that went by, it must be the system."

A smile crept up the corner of his lips, he couldn't see it, but he felt there was something undoubtedly alluring about him now, and it wasn't just his looks.

The power he felt surging through him, the command he possessed, both made him hard to resist, and also very dangerous.

For the first time in his life, he felt important, he felt power.

And in remained to be seen, if it was of benefit to him or not.

"Mason!" His mother's voice called out, breaking through the moment, he'd spent over thirty minutes engrossed in conversation with the system, completely forgetting the celebration she had carefully arranged in his honor.

"Coming!"

Night fell swiftly, cloaking Mason's room in stillness. The soft glow of the moon spilled through the wide windows, casting silver patterns across the floor and illuminating the breathtaking view of his futuristic estate.

"Alright system, what's next?"

[You don't seem surprised by everything's that's happened so far, initially time is to be granted for you to settle in.]

"Well it's like you said, due to my hobbies it's become more of a dream come true rather than a surprise. So far, I understand that my body's incapable of containing the full power's of my bloodline awakening, how do I overcome this obstacle? If there's a possibility that I can control it, I have to."

[You simply have to complete tasks and quests, and with that, your body, your mind and eventually your soul will slowly become accustomed to the mystical powers of the Incubus bloodline.]

"So level up huh, when you told me you're the Harem Incubus System, I never imagined you'd also be a level up kind of system."

[Think of me as a limit capacitor, the more you complete tasks and quests, the more I unseal the powers of the Incubus bloodline residing within you. Eventually you'll grow stronger and adjust to the powers of your heritage.]

Mason let out a sharp sigh, running his fingers through his hair as if the gesture might somehow untangle the mess of thoughts crowding his mind.

"So what's the first quest? Strength training? Stamina training? Endurance training?"

He continued to fire off a stream of random questions, drawing on the patchwork of knowledge he'd pieced together from the countless web novels and manhwas he had read all these years.

There was no response from the system, just an eerie silence.

"System?"

Even though it didn't respond, Mason could feel it—a faint but strong sensation deep inside him, like something dark was slowly starting to stir.

[Ding! Your first task has been activated!]

Several Minutes later

"Ah hell nah, you've got to be kidding me!"

Bathed in the soft, ethereal glow of the moon, Mason stood at the edge of the roof, his gaze drifting down to the ground far below.

[Current Task]

[Adaptability (Test Of Strength): Your body has undergone several changes, your strength, speed and agility has been amplified by 15%, your senses has grown more sharper, you can now smell, detect and see anything within a ten meter radius. Get accustomed to these new changes.]

[Estimated time of completion: Fifteen minutes]

"I can't believe I let you talk me into this, I thought I'd be doing something like push ups or even a 20 kilometer run."

[Such tasks are mediocre for the increase in physical abilities your body has attained.]

"So you decided that jumping from roof to roof in a single bound is appropriate!?"

[This task is specifically designed based on your interests and imaginations, forgive me if jumping to your death is a properly cultivated interest of yours.]

"Tch, okay okay, I can do this."

Although it was terrifying, the strength he felt swelling up in him gave a reason to doubt the possibilities of failure. The timer continued counting down with each second he lingered on the edge, each second he hesitated to jump.

[Master, you have less than seven minutes to complete this task, with each task you fail to complete, a corresponding penalty will be given.]

"Fuck, I figured that'd be the case, what's the penalty for not completing this particular quest?"

[The penalty for not completing this quest, is the total deletion of the Harem Incubus System and the memories of the host concerning the system.]

"What!? Why is the penalty so severe for such a quest!?"

[It is the first quest administrated to the host of the Harem Incubus System, refusal to complete it will be interpreted as the host's lack of interest in his bloodline and therefore will immediately be deactivated.]

"Damn..."

His eyes dropped once more to the ground below, and his breath hitched in his throat, his fear of heights clinging to him like a shadow that refused to let go.

With no other choice left, he gulped, taking a few steps backwards to build momentum for the jump.

"Don't look down Mason, just don't look down." With the timer accelerating, his leg drove hard into the concrete, propelling him forward in a blur. The ground cracked and shattered beneath him, unable to withstand the sheer force of his explosive momentum.

He launched into the air, eyes fixed on the opposite rooftop, every muscle tense with focus and determination.

[It's a little late to ask, but do you believe in miracles?]

"Huh? What's with the question?"

[Estimated chance of survival - 20%]

"What!?"
