Chapter 75 - The Light in the Abyss"

Chapter 28: "The Light in the Abyss"

The carriage rattled gently as Division 10 prepared to leave the village. Synoh, still unconscious, lay inside, his head resting on a folded cloak. Captain Elara sat beside him, watching over him with silent concern.

Outside the carriage, Dred crossed his arms.

"His magic… it's insane," he muttered.

Meth nodded, still shaken from the ghost battle. "I've never seen anything like that. It was… terrifying but amazing."

Aloy looked down, hesitant. "Some of the knights said Synoh might've used forbidden magic."

Dred frowned. "Who cares? He saved all of us."

Inside the carriage, Synoh's body twitched slightly. Dark aura leaked from his skin, swirling like smoke. Captain Elara narrowed her eyes, noticing it.

"He's struggling," she whispered.

Inside Synoh's Mind

A pitch-black void stretched endlessly. Synoh ran, breath ragged, as tendrils of darkness chased him. Whispers echoed—accusing, hateful, overwhelming.

Then, from the shadows, two massive glowing red eyes appeared.

> "You are not worthy to wield my son's magic… nor my power."

It was Fenrir.

Synoh staggered, feeling an unbearable pressure in his chest. The darkness thickened, wrapping around him like chains.

"Get out of my head…" Synoh growled, struggling.

Behind him, Fel trembled. "Synoh… I'm scared…"

Synoh turned, eyes softening as he saw his familiar in distress. He stepped between Fel and the shadowy tendrils. "It's okay. I'll protect you."

But the darkness surged again, swallowing everything.

Then—

A spark.

A voice.

> "Synoh. Don't give up."

Captain Elara's voice—clear and warm—cut through the abyss. A glowing light appeared before him, small at first… but growing stronger.

He reached for it. The darkness hissed, trying to pull him back, but Synoh gritted his teeth.

"I won't… be consumed!"

He clung to the light with all his strength. The void exploded into radiant energy as the darkness screamed and vanished.

Reality

Captain Elara held Synoh's hand, her expression pained. His dark aura burned her skin, but she didn't let go. She whispered to him again and again, tears forming in her eyes.

"You're not alone. Fight it… come back."

Then—

A breath.

Synoh's eyes slowly opened.

The first thing he saw was Captain Elara, asleep while still holding his hand, her hand scorched but firm in its grip.

He blinked, a faint smile forming.

"…Thank you."
