For Satoru Gojo, that moment was more than a fight — it was transcendence. He felt every fiber of his being vibrate, as if he had broken the chains that bound him and touched the divine.
'I want more!' Satoru thought as he charged at Toji. 'Black Flash!'
BAM!
***
Satoru's fist struck Toji's chest, followed by an explosion of black energy.
Toji was hurled backward, his feet scraping against the shattered ground as he dug in his heels to resist. Pain radiated through his torso, muscles tightening against the force of the blow. 'That little shit thinks he can take me on in hand-to-hand combat?!'
With a roar, the bounty hunter closed the distance in the blink of an eye, his right fist shooting forward like a missile. The punch landed on Gojo's face with a dry crack that echoed through the air.
Satoru's head snapped to the side, a tooth flying off alongside a spray of blood. But the boy didn't waver. His Six Eyes burned with insane intensity as a maniacal smile stretched across his bloodied lips. 'MORE! MORE! MORE!'
The two clashed in a storm of blows, their movements so fast that only elite sorcerers could make out the silhouettes amidst the blurs.
The air cracked with each impact as blood splattered across the fractured ground. Toji's Inverted Spear traced cuts along Satoru's arms, chest, and ribs, the flesh splitting open only to be sealed moments later by his Reverse Cursed Technique.
Satoru, in turn, wounded the hunter far less—leaving only a deep gash on the man's forehead, from which blood trickled down, mixing with sweat and dust.
'How does he already have this much control?!' Toji thought, dodging a flurry of Gojo's punches. 'But that won't be a problem—'
The hunter cut off his own thoughts when he had to dodge on pure instinct from Gojo's curse-charged fist aimed at his chin.
The blow missed by mere inches, and Toji felt the air ripple past. 'Is he getting stronger or am I getting slower?!' Toji gritted his teeth, realizing just how dangerous this was becoming.
Gojo Satoru wasn't just a prodigy — he was a monster in the making, turning every second of the fight into a lesson for his growth. Every brutal blow from Toji, every slash of the Inverted Spear, seemed to be absorbed by Satoru as learning, making the next hits increasingly harder to land.
The boy's blue eyes gleamed with insatiable hunger, deciphering the hunter's movements and refining his own technique with each exchange. Toji could feel it in his flesh, in the growing weight of Satoru's counterattacks.
'He's using me to evolve!' As much as it hurt his pride to admit, Toji knew that if he didn't end the fight now, he'd be in serious trouble.
"You were more fearless when I was exhausted!" Satoru shouted, laughing loudly, the sound merging with the chaos.
'I need to drive the Inverted Spear into him — that way, he won't be able to use any technique—' Toji's thoughts were cut off as Satoru, in a burst of speed, struck with a spinning kick cloaked in cursed energy, landing hard against the side of Toji's face.
The blow made the hunter's world spin for a moment, but it was enough time for Satoru to advance with his fist raised, eyes glowing with pure madness.
BAM!
Toji's head snapped back as he felt blood pool in his mouth. 'Strong— I'm stronger!' Regaining his footing quickly, he dodged another punch and spat blood into the boy's eyes. 'Now!'
Taking advantage of Gojo's momentary blindness, Toji spun the Inverted Spear, its sharp tip slicing through the air toward the sorcerer's neck. 'I won!'
But the spear struck only air.
!
A chill crawled up Toji's spine. Feeling danger behind him, he turned, instincts screaming. There was Satoru, floating upside down, smiling like a demon.
His right hand, shaped like a pistol, pointed straight at Toji.
