Chapter 4 - Cultivation In Shooting Star Continent

With Mei

Mei was deeply engrossed in the book Cultivation in the Shooting Star Continent, completely losing track of everything around her. Page after page pulled her further in as she absorbed every word. She comprehended the concepts effortlessly, a testament to her incredible intelligence despite her young age.

She required only a few seconds to commit an entire page to memory and fully comprehend it—an uncanny talent she had discovered when she first learned to read and write, and one that became even more apparent during her lessons in painting and noble etiquette.

'On the Shooting Star Continent, the majority of inhabitants practice Spirit qi cultivation. However, before one can truly begin cultivating Spirit qi, they must first open their spiritual veins through an Opening Formation.'

'Only sects and powerful clans possessed the resources to construct the Opening Formation and hire Radiant Masters capable of activating it.'

'However, attempting to open one's spiritual veins through the Opening Formation carried an extremely high risk. The chance of success is only ten percent. Those who failed would either perish on the spot or suffer irreversible damage, rendering them forever incapable of cultivating spiritual qi—unless they were treated by a legendary Rank-Eight Radiant Master.'.

There are nine known cultivation ranks under the Spiritual Qi cultivation system. These ranks are:

The Spirit Opening Realm.

The Spirit Hovering Realm.

The Spirit Knight Realm.

The Great Spirit Knight Realm.

The Earth Spirit Knight Realm.

The Heaven Spirit Knight Realm.

The Spiritual Ruler Realm.

The Spiritual King Realm.

The Spiritual Emperor Realm.

'According to legends and ancient records, realms were said to exist beyond the Spiritual Emperor Realm, yet no concrete evidence has ever confirmed their existence.'

'Among Spiritual Veins, some are elemental in nature. Possessors of these rare veins are naturally gifted, making them outstanding talents in cultivation.'

'Other cultivation methods and systems also exist; however, they are tightly monopolized by certain clans, organizations, and powerful sects, making them inaccessible to ordinary cultivators.'

Those cultivation methods follow entirely different paths of cultivation, distinct from the Spirit Qi system.

Those cultivation paths are the Path of the Soul and the Path of the Body.

'Those who follow the Path of the Soul devote themselves to cultivating, nurturing, and strengthening their soul, while those who follow the Path of the Body concentrate on refining and cultivating their physical body.'

'A rare few are born with mutated souls, their soul essence deviating from the norm. Such individuals are often advised to walk the Path of the Soul.'

'Those with a mutated soul are naturally suited to become Radiant Masters and often excel in alchemy or refinement, their exceptional talent stemming from the power of their mutated soul.'

Mei kept reading with interest, and when she finished the book, she closed it with a smile full of excitement.

"This new life of mine is getting way too interesting," she muttered under her breath, closing her eyes while thinking about what she had just read.

At that moment, Mei heard footsteps approaching. She opened her eyes and saw her first brother smiling down at her.

"Third sister what are you reading?"

Mei smiled at her first brother and handed him the book, Cultivation in the Shooting Star Continent, which she had just finished reading.

Yang De grabbed the book, took a quick glance at it, nodded to her, and said.

"Third Sister, this book truly gives you an introduction to Cultivation in the Shooting Star Continent, but it doesn't explain anything about bloodlines or those with special constitutions."

Mei's eyes lit up with intrigue at the words, and she couldn't help but ask.

"First Brother, please tell me more. They sound interesting—what are bloodlines and special constitutions?"

Yang De chuckled at Mei's obvious intrigue and nodded approvingly. He then took a seat across from her.

"First, I will explain bloodlines. Bloodlines are inherited and can only be passed down to descendants of families that possess them. A prime example of this is the Qin Royal Family—all of their descendants inherit the Royal Bloodline. As a result, their cultivation path differs from that of ordinary people."

"The same held true for those who carried the Ancient Bloodline."

Mei looked at Yang De with a puzzled expression and asked.

"What kind the cultivation path do they walk?"

Yang De shook his head, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

"I have no idea, Third Sister. All I know is that those with the Royal bloodline consume a tremendous amount of resources and are far stronger than ordinary cultivators. If someone with a Royal bloodline fights a cultivator of the same realm, the one with the Royal bloodline will almost always win—unless the cultivator is a true genius."

Mei gave a small smile, excitement twinkling in her eyes, and Yang De chuckled at the sight of his third sister's grin.

"Now, I will explain to you about special constitutions so listen closely."

Mei nodded and paid close attention to what Yang De was about to say.

"Some people are born with special bodies that possess unique characteristics. Some are naturally stronger than others, while some have heightened senses. We call these individuals 'wielders of special constitutions."

Yang De then stood up from his seat and continued.

"When you are old enough and join a martial house or sect, you will meet many interesting people—some are geniuses, some wield bloodlines, and others possess special constitutions."

"Even the libraries in those sects and martial houses are far more developed than our Book Pavilion. Father has only recently begun gathering books and scrolls about cultivation."

Mei smiled and she nodded in understanding.

"I understand thank you first brother."

Yang De smiled and nodded at Mei, then turned and left the Book Pavilion.
