Chapter 111 - Chapter 111: Supreme Mage Ancient One

Looking at the people charging at him, Alex felt a flicker of surprise. He had no idea who these people were or why they wanted to attack him.

But Alex wasn't stupid. He could tell at a glance that they were here specifically for him.

Right then, Alex couldn't help but think his luck lately was downright rotten. Ever since he'd arrived in this Marvel world, he'd fought Loki, but besides that, he hadn't gone looking for trouble. And yet… here he was, feared by the upper ranks of S.H.I.E.L.D., framed by Hydra's people, and after leaving the Avengers, Loki had popped back up to ambush him again...

Fine. All of it, in the end, was Loki's doing.

And now? Loki could barely protect himself — Alex should have been safe for a while. Yet out of nowhere, more people leapt out to hunt him down.

Buzz!

These attackers showed no intention of talking. The moment they got close, they raised their hands and unleashed magic.

Fire. Ice. Blazing flames and freezing shards blasted straight at Alex.

"Magicians? Traitors from Kamar-Taj?" Alex thought, his heart tightening as he recognized their attack style.

After all, the most famous human magicians on Earth belonged to the Ancient One of Kamar-Taj. But the Ancient One and her people had no reason to target him. So the only answer was these were defectors.

Even as these thoughts flashed through his mind, Alex didn't waste a second. Seeing the leader swing at him with a blade of translucent ice, Alex met the attack head-on with the Wushuang Sword in his grip.

Ding!

A sharp clash rang out — and then an indescribable force slammed through the sword. Alex's arms went numb as his body was thrown backwards by the impact.

"This guy's strong… must be magic," Alex thought, nearly losing his grip on the Wushuang Sword. His eyes locked onto the dark magician leading the charge — Kaecilius.

The crystal device on Alex's wrist flickered to life, instantly scanning Kaecilius's energy. The reading made Alex's eyes widen — 800 points!

"His crystal points are almost triple mine — no wonder…" Alex realized.

No wonder Kaecilius's strike had blasted him away. Magicians often held terrifying energy levels and immense destructive power — but their physical durability was laughably poor.

It was just like Ebony Maw in Infinity War. Against Doctor Strange, Iron Man, even Spider-Man — a magician like Maw could crush them all if they fought head-on with magic. But in the end? He got tossed into deep space and died. Meanwhile, look at Thor — Thanos nearly beat him to death and flung him into space for who knows how long, yet he survived to bump into the Guardians of the Galaxy. That was the difference between a magician's fragile frame and a warrior's brute resilience.

"So he's not as strong as he thinks."

Whatever Alex was thinking, Kaecilius didn't care. Seeing Alex thrown back by his strike, Kaecilius's eyes gleamed with vicious delight as he lunged again, swinging his ice blade at Alex.

"You seem to have misunderstood something…" Alex muttered. He caught the smirk curling on Kaecilius's lips, narrowed his eyes — then vanished.

He used Shave.

In the blink of an eye, Alex's figure blurred and reappeared behind Kaecilius. A cold gleam of sword light sliced the air.

"Ah!"

Kaecilius's scream echoed through the street. Blood splattered — Alex's blade had severed one of Kaecilius's arms clean off.

The arm arced through the air and landed with a wet thud.

"As a magician, you dare to be so confident in front of a warrior who can almost teleport? Such mysterious confidence…" After cutting off one of Kaecilius' arms with his sword, Alex muttered to himself.

"This is exactly how it should be — a proper opening clash between a warrior and a magician." At the same time, Alex secretly nodded to himself.

A magician should be like this — low defence and fragile flesh. Someone like Loki, who as a magician has such a strong body, is just plain cheating.

Whoosh!Seeing Kaecilius' arm severed, several dark magicians nearby looked horrified. They exchanged glances, then rushed at Alex together…

"The magicians on this plane are truly funny. It's one thing for them to have weak defences, but they all fight in close quarters." Looking at these dark magicians casting spells while charging in again, Alex shook his head to himself, and at the same time lifted the unmatched sword in his hand once more.

Crush! This battle was completely one-sided!

Judging by crystal points, each of these magicians was stronger than Alex, but in real combat, even if they joined forces, they were no match for him — utterly crushed!

If they had attacked from range with proper magic, Alex might have found it a bit troublesome. But they wielded magic like clubs for close combat — with thin defences and flesh as weak as ordinary people. How could they be Alex's opponents?

The Wushuang Sword didn't even bother to clash with their spells — exquisite swordsmanship alone did the job: point, slice, thrust, stab…

Screams of pain rang out. In just a moment, these dark magicians — whose crystal points were much higher than Alex's — were all knocked to the ground by him, each with more or less injuries. When strength forms true restraint, the difference in crystal points becomes pale and powerless.

Chi chi chi!Alex was like a tiger among sheep. He barely spent any effort — simply combining the Shave technique with Dugu Nine Swords, cutting them down one by one. But just as he was about to force these magicians to open the Mirror Dimension and let him out, suddenly countless tiny sparks bloomed in the void, forming a circular portal.

A figure in yellow robes stepped straight into the Mirror Dimension. The flame-like magic in her hand fanned out gently, showing the bearing of a true master.

"Hm? They're all defeated?" The figure in the yellow robe stepped through the teleportation magic, surprised to see Kaecilius and the others lying scattered across the floor.

As she spoke, she lowered the hood of her yellow robe, revealing a bald head.

"Who is this? The Supreme Sorcerer… the Ancient One?" From the commanding aura and the bald head, Alex instantly realised the identity of this uninvited guest.
