Chapter 114 - Chapter 114: Alex Takes Action

The Chitauri Leviathan was enormous, far larger than any dinosaur that ever roamed the Earth.

Its sheer size alone brought an indescribable pressure crashing down on anyone in its path.

Only the Hulk, that unstoppable brute, could match strength with such a massive Leviathan head-on.

But now, staring at the Leviathan charging straight at him, Alex suddenly raised his hand and held the Wushuang Sword before him, shouting in his mind: Block!

The "Block" skill was like a rule carved into reality. As long as the number of crystal points on the attacking target didn't exceed ten times the crystal points Alex held, any single strike could be completely stopped without harm.

Even though this Leviathan was gigantic, its body didn't hold any overwhelming crystal points. Naturally, it was within Alex's limit.

Bang!To the Leviathan, Alex's Wushuang Sword was like a toothpick — but when the Leviathan slammed into it, it felt like smashing into a steel wall made of invisible force. The beast's charge came to a dead halt.

"Hiss— this guy… does he really have strength like the big green one?" Seeing Alex block such a massive Leviathan with just his sword, Natasha and Steve were stunned.

Everyone knew what the Hulk was capable of — those terrifying muscles after transformation — but Alex looked like an ordinary young man. How could he have that kind of power?

Regardless of how shocked Natasha and the others were, after the Leviathan slammed into Alex's sword and stopped, the force behind it flipped its huge tail over — smashing down towards Alex and the team like a collapsing mountain.

This thing must weigh thousands of tons, right?

Kick!

Watching the Leviathan crash down, Alex shouted in his mind and stepped forward. He kicked out with full force, his foot landing squarely on the creature's massive head.

The next second, that thousands-of-tons Leviathan was sent flying by Alex's kick. The impact shook the entire ground as if an earthquake had struck.

It was another rule-type skill. The 'kick' didn't damage the Leviathan's body — but its colossal weight was sent flying. The sight was shocking.

It looked like a mouse tossing an elephant's trunk over its shoulder.

The absurd difference in size and the brutal reality of that power made Steve and the others stare wide-eyed, jaws about to hit the ground.

Whoosh! Just then, a streak of red dropped down beside Alex. It was Tony, clad in his battered Iron Man armor.

His mask slid open. Tony looked at Alex and said, "You're finally here. Help me patch up this suit — it's taken a beating."

Alex glanced at the armor. Sure enough, Tony's Iron Man suit was covered in scars — a clear sign of all the hits it had taken.

That shiny shell now looked like a new car that had been driven straight through a war zone.

Alex smiled faintly. He didn't say much, just placed his palm on the armor and brushed it lightly. The suit rippled like liquid metal under his touch, and in seconds, the battered shell was fully restored — spotless once more.

"Sir, energy reserves are critically low. Remaining power is under twenty percent…"Jarvis's calm voice came through Tony's helmet, reporting the situation.

"Hey, Thor…"Tony didn't seem too worried. He lifted his head and called out to Thor, the God of Thunder, who was soaring through the sky.

Crack!

As Tony shouted, Mjölnir swung in the sky and a bolt of blue lightning crashed down, striking Tony dead on.

"Sir, energy levels at maximum," Jarvis reported calmly a moment later.

Tony's Iron Man suit showed no sign of damage, and the arc reactor's output surged past its limit, brimming with fresh power.

Watching this, Alex's mouth twitched slightly.

Back when Iron Man and Thor had first crossed paths, Tony had discovered — quite by accident — that Thor's lightning could supercharge his suit. From that day on, Thor was practically his walking power bank in the middle of a fight.

Now, with the Chitauri swarming down like a tide, Alex joined the fray without hesitation.

But on this battlefield, drawn out and chaotic as it was, Alex didn't plan on exhausting himself recklessly. He strapped the Wushuang Sword to his back and raised the Mind Scepter instead.

Boom boom boom…

No need to worry about conserving power — Alex's spiritual force guided the Mind Stone's endless energy, shaping it into spheres of pure force that he launched one after another.

Each energy blast exploded like a high-yield grenade, its destructive force enough to shatter the alien ranks.

In Alex's hands, Loki's stolen scepter was no different from a grenade launcher with unlimited ammo.

Tony and the others weren't surprised by the weapon — everyone at the Avengers' base already knew Loki had used the scepter to open the portal and that Alex had claimed it afterward.

What Tony hadn't expected, though, was that Alex could actually wield Loki's scepter himself.

Energy spheres streaked out in a relentless barrage, exploding in dense clusters that tore through the ranks of the Chitauri. One after another, the invaders fell under the rain of blasts.

With Alex's added firepower — and an attack that cared nothing for conserving energy — the Avengers' burden lifted noticeably, giving them precious breathing room amid the chaos.

"Huh? That's Alex!?"

At that moment, as the dense barrage of attacks erupted from Alex's side, Loki — not far away — was naturally drawn to the commotion.

When he saw the scepter in Alex's hand, blazing with power — his scepter — Loki's face twisted with rage.

"I didn't expect this lowly mortal to actually wield the Mind Scepter's power! Damn it — all of you, come with me! Kill him!"

Though he was shocked that Alex could use the scepter, Loki's jealousy and hatred quickly took over. His eyes burned with fury as he barked out the order.

Hualala! At Loki's command, the Chitauri soldiers — who had been attacking every corner of the battlefield — surged toward Alex all at once. Their numbers were so dense they seemed to blot out the sun. Loki's grudge against Alex was clear in every shriek of the oncoming swarm.
