Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 — There's a Sickly Girl at School!

After finding out there was a doctor in the health room, Miyama Sendoh immediately wanted to get checked.

However, at that moment he heard a girl's voice from the direction of the door. He turned around.

There stood a very cute girl with short silver hair.

Yes, objectively, the girl was truly attractive.

Her skin was clear white, her face beautiful and sweet, with short silver hair that looked smooth and textured.

Perhaps due to her health condition, she held a cane in her right hand.

[She's sickly, cute, petite, and looks fragile. This is a type of girl you've never encountered before.]

[Do you feel this will be the beginning of something big?]

Not at all!

Miyama felt the hallucinatory voice in his head growing more enthusiastic, though he wasn't sure if it was just an illusion.

"Sakayanagi-san? Would you like to be examined first? How are you feeling now? Is your chest feeling tight?" asked the female doctor, turning to the girl with the cane at the door.

This different treatment made Miyama realize that the doctor might know the girl.

From their conversation, the girl seemed like a regular visitor to the health room.

"I'm not feeling uncomfortable at the moment. I'm not in a hurry. Please attend to this student first," replied the girl, walking in with the aid of her cane.

As she approached, Miyama realized that this girl was not only cute, but also had a distinctive fashion sense.

The male student uniform of Koudo Ikusei High School consisted of a red blazer with green pants. For female students, the pants were replaced with a pleated skirt. Many girls he saw along the way wore white socks, black socks, or black stockings, but this girl was different.

She wore garter stockings.

Despite her petite frame, her thighs looked full, and those garter stockings made her look pure yet slightly alluring.

"..."

'I'm still influenced by this hallucination and starting to notice others,' thought Miyama.

"You go first," he said. Though he looked somewhat scary due to the dark circles under his eyes, Miyama was actually quite kind-hearted. He stood from his seat.

'Compared to my situation, I should also consider this girl's condition,' he thought.

Miyama was sure the doctor and the girl already knew each other, likely because the girl often experienced health problems.

As he looked at the girl's silver hair, Miyama was reminded of his sister, Miyama Kei, who was in middle school. Kei's body shape was somewhat similar to this girl's.

Because he cared for his sister, Miyama began thinking about Kei. Although he was prepared to spend three years at this school, he worried whether his sister would be alright out there with their unreliable father.

Miyama's attention shifted to the girl's weak expression. Though wearing the Koudo Ikusei High School student uniform, her body was much smaller and thinner compared to his sister.

'Her development is slow. Her health must be very poor,' thought Miyama.

As he looked at the girl, he felt a bit of pity.

"From your uniform, it seems you're a new student," said the girl.

"I'm Miyama Sendoh, from Class C first year," Miyama answered.

"Oh," the girl replied politely, then said nothing more. She walked closer to the doctor and sat down quietly.

Her attitude was somewhat confusing.

'She's the one who asked, but she's indifferent after I answered,' thought Miyama.

'And usually, when asking someone else's name, she should also introduce herself.'

Miyama stepped aside politely.

The girl's examination didn't take long. After checking her heartbeat and breathing, the doctor allowed her to leave.

"Congenital heart disease," the girl said to Miyama. "Although there are no physical issues currently, I am prohibited from doing physical activities."

Miyama now understood why the girl seemed familiar with the health room. The school must have known about her condition and taken special measures, making her a frequent visitor here.

"So, you already know about me. What problem are you facing?" asked the girl, blinking slowly while sitting.

"Is it hallucinations?" she continued.

"What did you hear?"

Miyama realized the girl must have heard his conversation with the doctor from the door. She seemed interested in the "hallucinations" he mentioned, so she started the conversation.

'She deliberately leaked her information earlier, and now wants me to do the same,' thought Miyama.

"..."

'This girl is rather complicated,' he thought.

During middle school, Miyama spent his time studying hard for scholarships and getting into high school without fees. He barely ever spoke with girls, perhaps no more than ten sentences throughout three years.

Although not afraid of facing girls, he felt the girl in front of him was difficult to understand.

"Well then, tell me about your situation," said the female doctor, starting to ask questions.

"..."

But what could Miyama say?

The voice in his head kept talking.

[This girl is so cute, isn't she? She seems interested in you.]

[Don't be fooled by her calm and mature demeanor. Today is her first time trying garter stockings. Although it's her first time, she knows it makes her look attractive. She's very aware of her charm.]

[Her health is poor, and she relies on a cane. Though she looks calm now, she might cry if her cane was taken away.]

[Rarely seen her cry.]

[Take advantage of this opportunity!]

"..."

'Take advantage? What does that mean?' thought Miyama.

He couldn't say that his hallucinations were talking about ways to "conquer" the weak girl in front of him or make her cry. That would not only be impolite but could also get him expelled from school.

"I started hearing voices after entering this school, but I'm not sure what they're saying," Miyama said stiffly.

"Is this the first time it's happened?" asked the doctor.

"Yes, just this time," Miyama nodded.

"What time did you go to sleep last night?" the doctor continued.

"I slept at 2 AM and woke up at 6 AM," Miyama answered.

"I understand," said the doctor, nodding.

"What's the problem?" asked the girl with the cane, looking confused.

"Look at the dark circles under his eyes. Plus his sleep time. This is the result of lack of sleep," explained the doctor.

The problem turned out to be simple: lack of sleep. Sleeping more could solve it.

"How boring," said the girl, standing with the help of her cane, as if disappointed.

For someone who sleeps 10 hours a day, staying up late was something foreign.

The female doctor was more thorough. "Was staying up late last night just a coincidence, or is it a habit?" she asked.

"I've been like this for the past three years. I study 12 hours a day," Miyama answered honestly. "Last night, because I was entering a new school, I was a bit nervous and stayed up to read."

'A hard worker?' thought the girl.

Someone who studies 12 hours a day.

The girl with the cane, who was about to leave, decided to listen longer.
