Chapter -2.

After the house's transformation was finished, I finally put on the new yet familiar black wizard robe and stepped outside, hoping to breathe in fresh air, but I was once again let down as the outdoor atmosphere was much worse than inside.

"Ugh.. I think finding a new place to settle down would also be a wise choice," I couldn't help but mutter while quickly leaving Spinner's End. After hailing a taxi, I headed toward the nearby city; my top priority was a makeover, and what could be more convincing than visiting a muggle barber?

Humming my favorite tune and receiving a few curious glances from the driver, I finally arrived at my destination, and I could confidently say that I looked quite different from the others. Perhaps that's why the taxi driver had given me a few concerned looks as well.

"Well, gothic style certainly attracts a lot of attention," I mumbled with a smile, as in my previous life I had a certain fondness for some aspects of love, but that was in the past, and I had no intention of bringing that affection into this life.

Pushing aside my own thoughts and emotions, I began to walk forward, observing the busy people going about their own business. After a few minutes of enjoying a stroll through the muggle streets and taking in a breath of fresh air, I spotted a nice barber shop adorned with unique portraits of models.

"Welcome... sir, what kind of haircut would you like?" the barber, a young man, asked, his initial smile fading, likely due to the serious expression on my face.

"I would like a touch-up, just trim off the two inches that have grown out due to neglect and make it look less greasy without cutting off too much of my hair," I replied, finally managing a smile; I didn't want him to think of me as some old thug and ruin my long hair.

"Of course, sir, but would you like me to wash your hair first?" the young barber inquired, his tone becoming more respectful with each moment.

"Do as you wish," I said in a Snape-like monotone, as if I didn't care about what he was saying, but in reality, I was happier inside, as I was finally going to rid my hair of the greasiness that had taken over.

Time began to pass by, and ignoring the cleaning process and then paying attention to the hair cutting process; this first step of the makeover was complete.

Standing in front of the barber shop mirror, which sometimes makes a person appear much more handsome than they really are, so ignoring the charm that was radiating from my face, I looked at the young barber and asked, "Seems like you really know your job; how much for all of this?" Though at the moment I only had a few pounds on me, so the urge to "obliviate" this guy was pretty high, but in the end, after hearing the reasonable price he quoted, I paid the amount and walked out of the shop with a warm smile on my face, allowing the barber to finally breathe a sigh of relief.

"Next stop, let's buy some muggle clothes and a few supplies to manage the current appearance." Thinking about this, I once again began to wander around purchasing according to my capabilities, and after a few hours, I had two bags in my hand; the first one full of muggle clothes and the second one full of shampoo, soap, deodorant, and other essentials necessary to appear as a fellow human inhabitant instead of a bat.

The trip back to the house was much smoother since I had used "Apparition"; though initially, I felt that it might be difficult as having knowledge about things and having experience were two entirely different matters; however, contrary to my negative expectations, I managed to appear a little distance away from Spinner's End, and that too in one piece without losing even the little finger's nail.

With the first step complete, I needed to work on certain things, so I hurried back to the house.

Opening the door, I placed the bags on the now dear-looking couch and then made my way toward a certain potion book; though the recipe for making this potion was already in the back of my mind, there was another thing I needed to check.

"Turning a potion into paste, that's going to require some additional ingredients that would not mess up the entire equation of the potion." The thing I wanted to make right now was the infamous beautification potion, which I didn't know entirely, but must be quite famous among witches, and the person I intended to meet at the moment was a muggle, so instead of sending her a potion that could be mistaken for poison, I preferred paste.

Moreover, since the person I wanted to meet was a woman, I was fifty percent already sure that the plan I was concocting would work.

Though thanks to Severus Snape's memories, I was aware that this beautification potion was not that great, as instead of changing the appearance much, it just added a few touches to a person's lesser beauty, making that person appear more beautiful than before.

"But to lure her into meeting me, I think a lesser version like this is best." I couldn't help but smile; if I were to appear directly in front of that person, there was a chance that she might not even want to see me again, as old wounds are hard to heal, and moreover, a person jealous of her own sister for a certain thing could be quite petty as well.

A few minutes later, while reading the book, I finally found a few recipes that matched Severus' knowledge, at the same time increasing my trust in Severus' memories a little higher, but since for now it was time to eat as my stomach had begun to growl, I took the book away to make a few notes and made my way to the kitchen, as for some unexpected reason, the great Severus Snape was a great cook.
