Chapter 14 - GRAND SUMMONING

"That's a grand master for you I guess" Demiurge sighed, the battle was over and the bodies of the deep space creatures where being purified the man in front of them was very clearly a grandmaster or at least that's what they all thought, they were very few known grandmasters amongst the galactic federation.

The grandmasters where like natural disasters in their world full of abilities a grandmasters capability exceeded both science and metaphysics and this organization they had found themselves in supposedly had about ten of them.

The grandmasters weren't truly rare, more so they were hard to find, and most where quite stubborn but it was never an issue since they would often clear out high class abyss gates themselves, not that all of them where combatants.

Zed turned his head, carefully observing his half asleep supervisor with a look of pity 'I suppose not all grandmasters are equal' he may hate to admit it but his supervisors powers where in fact way beyond reason, the sheer volume of his psionic energy as well.

"what you staring at? You comparing me to mister blade smith?". He fiddled with lighter in his hand and chuckled "Don't know what to tell you, my powers aren't exactly designed for direct confrontation"

Zed looked his supervisor in his eyes for a bit and asked "What exactly are your powers anyway?". His instructor on shrugged in response not uttering a single word more to that effect while Zed just rolled his eyes and walked off to his chambers wondering what he would do now that he had free time.

After they left Jin stared at the screen for a bit more, 'I never liked that guy, the other agents will be arriving in a week, right? That means Hercules will be coming back' he thought before slouching back into the lounge chairs.

Lighting fell from the sky in a flash of light, from which a human woman had emerged, her skin covered in buzzing streaks of light, as she gazed into the distance and scratched her face "I'm a bit off course" she whispered to herself before turning into a bolt of lightning and disappearing.

On another planet a large number of people could be seen buried up to their necks in the ground or rather these men seemed to have been fused with it, beads of sweat rolling down their foreheads as they sunk deeper, some had only their hands sticking out of the ground until one of them screamed. "I'll talk! Please, just don't kill me please, I will tell you anything you want honest".

The people had all stopped sinking at once, the ground around them forming into mouths that rose and swallowed them whole with a sickening crunch, their bodies quietly folding back into the soil as though they never existed, like there had never been people trapped in their embrace.

Multiple hands manifested out of the ground and pulled the man up, the ground softening like liquid and forming into the shape of an individual, the individuals skin formed first, having a reddish hue, next formed his slender fingers that held pointed claw like fingers, horn like scale covered protrusions ran over the top of their head.

Their lips and nose formed next, long fang like teeth and a pointed nose formed along with their torso up to their waist, the rest still covered in the softened liquid like earth. The man shivered and the individual tilted their head, touching their face carefully they found that they were without eyes.

The individuals fingers dug into their face with a squelching sound as the person tore open their own face, their eyes rolling around in their sockets before finally settling on him, when they spoke their voice was calm and gentle like how one would soothe a child "I trust you'll behave yourself and won't use tricks, else".

The individual opened their mouth wide, far wider than even their body should have allowed him, inside his gaping maw lay the mangled and crunched up bodies of some of the people who had been in the ground with him, the man swallowed hard and winched, afraid he was predicting his own future.

On an orange planet known for its strong winds and clear skies, a section of it had been covered In a cloud of ash, the ground glowing red and the waves of heat warped the air around it, molten rock flowed across the surface of a mountain from a gouge in its surface like a bleeding wound.

A man stood at the foot of this bleeding wound the glow from the molten rock illuminating his figure, his gigantic frame stood with his chest exposed, his dark skin rippling with muscles, his golden colored braided hair tied up, his palms pressed together he stood above the molten flames gazing listlessly at a creature.

The monstrosity had half of its body buried in the liquid fire and yet just its immense head dwarfed the man standing in the flames, half of the creature's head had been reduced to ash and the creature now lay lifelessly amongst the flowing magma, like debris.

The dark skin man pulled apart his palms and reached into his pants pocket and pulled out a small circular disk and gave it a few light taps, a holographic screen appearing in front of him "Class Five abyss gate neutralized…" he scanned the area with his eyes before continuing "… I will now be returning to base"

The man waved his hand and the ash dispersed and the magma cooled, a wave of cool air passed over the area and the dark skin man heaved a long sigh before he started to walk away from the deformed mountain. " I really don't like these long missions"

He scratched his neck and dusted some of the ash off his shoulder when he suddenly stopped in front of a half-melted vehicle "Urgh not this again, Mercury might really cut my funding this time" he looked to the sky and could see a commercial ship passing by and frowned.
