Chapter 1 - #1 These times are a bit difficult

Name: Tang Ze Genichi

Gender: Male

Age: 22

Occupation: Police Inspector, Metropolitan Police Department

This is the general situation after Tang Ze arrived in this world.

Fortunately, his appearance stayed exactly the same. Even his name was only slightly changed. The character "Ze" was added to his original name, turning "Tang Shou" into "Tang Ze Shou." There's no major difference, so Tang Ze didn't have to worry about losing his identity, or worse, having a split personality from facing a completely unfamiliar version of himself.

In his previous life, Tang Ze was an art teacher, a single man, and a fan of anime and mystery novels. One day, he woke up to find himself in this new world.

After learning about his situation in this world, Tang Ze couldn't be happier with his current career path. He's basically a top student in this world!

In this version of reality, Tang Ze graduated from the University of Tokyo's Law Faculty. While there, he passed the National Civil Service Exam on his first try and was also the top graduate from the Police University. He was basically set for life with a prestigious career.

Passing Japan's Type I Civil Service Exam is incredibly difficult. Out of 220,000 police officers in Japan, only about 500 make it into the elite "Career Group." The fact that Tang Ze's parallel world self achieved this is impressive, and it guarantees a solid future. For comparison, the police inspector in "The Case Files of Young Kindaichi," Kengo Akechi, is a member of this elite group.

As a member of the Career Group, Tang Ze's path is smoother and promotion is faster. The police career group consists of the top bureaucrats in the country, and even lower-ranking officers like "Shancuncao" from Detective Conan are promoted more quickly than those in lower ranks.

After completing three months of junior leadership training and nine months of practical experience at a police station, Tang Ze would be promoted to police captain. This career success made him feel a lot better about the strange new world he now found himself in.

His memories from the past life also helped him navigate this world. With the knowledge and skills he had, Tang Ze didn't have to worry about his livelihood or struggling to make ends meet. Unlike the 1990s economic downturn in Japan, which was known as the "Lost Decade," Tang Ze had a stable job as a police officer, which was one of the most secure and well-compensated professions at the time.

For comparison, even a new police officer with only a high school diploma could earn about 190,000 yen a month, while university graduates like Tang Ze started with around 230,000 yen. Plus, there are bonuses and extra benefits, including allowances for specific duties. Police officers also get free accommodation in dorms, including food and utilities. This meant that as a single officer, Tang Ze had little to no living expenses. By age 30, he would have saved millions of yen just from his salary and bonuses.

Tang Ze's hard work was driven by the difficult economic situation in the world, and the stable income from his police job provided him a sense of security. He doesn't come from a rich background, but his family runs a hot spring hotel in Hokkaido, which used to be profitable but has struggled in recent years due to the poor economy.

Despite these financial troubles, Tang Ze's path in this world is set. In high school, he realized how important his education was, especially with the pressures of attending a private school to prepare for university entrance exams. He worked hard and eventually became a top student, and with his family's support, he graduated from the University of Tokyo's Law Faculty and entered the police force.

Now, Tang Ze is working hard to support his family, and he's in a much stronger position than the version of himself from his past life. The professional group's career stability and high starting salary allow him to focus on his work without worrying about money.

In conclusion, although Tang Ze has traveled to a different world, his life in this new world is quite stable. The skills and knowledge he gained in his previous life are helping him thrive, and he's confident that he'll continue to do well in this new world.
