Chapter 159 - Green Giant: Such a Weak God

"Captain, I actually think this skill is perfect for Barton."

Black Widow considered it for a moment before speaking to Captain America. "Because this skill will only reach its full potential with Barton."

"Why do you say that?" Captain America asked, looking at Black Widow with some curiosity.

Of course, it was purely curiosity, not a disagreement with giving the skill to Barton. After all, to be honest, Night Vision Skill wasn't a particularly powerful ability.

And Captain America wasn't the type to be possessive.

"Aren't you curious why Barton is called Hawkeye?" Black Widow explained to everyone. "Because Barton's eyes are truly as sharp as an eagle's. He can see much farther than the average person!"

If that was the case, then it was indeed true that the Night Vision Skill would be most effective with Hawkeye.

"I see!" Captain America nodded, then immediately said to Hawkeye Barton, "Barton, you answer this question."

Everyone on the scene reached an agreement just like that.

"I choose D, Loki gets smashed by Hulk!"

Hawkeye Barton didn't hesitate much and immediately gave his answer to the big screen.

[Correct Answer!]

[Congratulations to the answerer, Clint Barton, for receiving the Night Vision Skill!]

[The reward has been issued, please check!]

A series of prompts immediately sounded. The result was not beyond everyone's expectations; the answer to this question was indeed D.

"What?" Loki shook his head repeatedly, unable to accept it. "This is absurd, it's a joke! How could I be smashed by this... this green giant? There must be a mistake!"

"Loki, you and Thor are really brothers!" Tony Stark couldn't help but exclaim.

Loki and Thor. The two of them had always given everyone the impression of being complete opposites. One was simple-minded and strong, the other cunning and full of malicious intent.

One only knew how to charge, the other only knew how to scheme.

If you didn't know better, you'd think these two weren't even related. Maybe one of them was Odin's illegitimate child from an affair.

After all, they grew up in the same environment, so why was there such a huge difference?

It was only at this moment that everyone finally saw some common ground between Loki and Thor.

"That expression, I've seen it on Thor many times. But guess what? He gets his face slapped every single time, every time!"

Tony Stark said to Loki with a hint of mockery.

"Watch your mouth! Tin Can, he isn't my brother!"

Loki's voice was filled with anger as he growled at Tony Stark. "You may be his friend, but don't act like you know me so well!"

"Barton, how are you feeling?" Black Widow ignored Tony Stark and Loki and focused on Hawkeye, Barton, asking.

"I feel great. There isn't a single secret in this room to me," Barton said, surveying the surroundings with satisfaction. "Even things in the shadows, I can see them clearly."

System-produced, always a masterpiece!

This Night Vision Skill is still top-notch.

[Answer complete, now playing answer analysis.]

Following this system prompt, a corresponding scene began to display on the big screen.

"I have my target locked!"

First, a man's voice rang out.

Everyone was very familiar with that voice. They immediately recognized it; it was none other than Hawkeye Barton's voice.

Then, Hawkeye Barton's figure appeared on the big screen. He stood on top of a high-rise building, looking incredibly imposing as he drew his bow, aiming at a certain direction.

At this moment, the camera cut to a shot of an alien spacecraft streaking across the sky above the city.

Clearly, Hawkeye Barton's target was that alien spacecraft.

On board the alien spacecraft, several Chitauri were piloting the vessel, while a man in an Asgardian-style robe sat in the back like a boss.

He looked utterly composed.

It was Loki.

"This is…"

Black Widow couldn't help but murmur. She recognized it; this footage was a segment from the video that showed who completely ended the Battle of New York.

Not just her, but the other quiz participants who had seen the video also recognized it.

"Chitauri! These are the Chitauri!"

Loki's pupils couldn't help but constrict, a look of shock on his face.

His goal in coming to Midgard this time to steal the Tesseract was to open a portal and let the Chitauri invade and occupy Midgard.

But this event hadn't happened yet!

Loki was captured before he could even get his hands on the Tesseract.

So, what was up with this video of himself wreaking havoc with the Chitauri over the city of Midgard?

Could it be... that this scene truly foretold the future?

Loki was shocked beyond belief.

"It's coming, it's really coming!" Tony Stark suddenly said with a face full of excitement, turning to Loki. "Loki, watch closely, don't get distracted, the show's about to begin!"

Loki glanced around, noticing that everyone present was looking at him with mocking and derisive eyes.

He immediately felt a bad premonition.

Thinking back to how he was blown away by that archer, and now, the person in the video was shooting an arrow again…

Whoosh!

Under everyone's gaze, Hawkeye Barton released an arrow, which arced through the air towards Loki's face.

But Loki caught it with one hand, his movements graceful and elegant, just as they were in the base before.

Loki's face twisted into the same mocking grin he'd worn before, but it was immediately wiped away by the explosive force of the arrow, sending him plummeting from the sky.

Loki: "..."

He felt incredibly uncomfortable, instinctively covering his face.

The feeling was... utterly mortifying.

At least now, Loki understood what the tin man had meant by "it's coming".

And he finally understood why everyone had been watching him with such amusement.

They must have seen the video beforehand!

BOOM!

Loki crashed heavily onto the rooftop balcony of Stark Tower. He'd just managed to get back on his feet when a bestial roar suddenly erupted.

Then, a green behemoth descended from the sky, landing with a thud right in front of Loki.

"Is this the Hulk?"

Loki couldn't help but laugh.

Originally, everyone kept calling him a giant, a giant, and he thought they were really huge, but it was just this?

Only a little over two meters tall, right? How powerful could this so-called giant be?

Roar!

Amidst the earth-shattering roar, the Hulk charged towards Loki, transforming into a green shadow, like a high-speed train, slamming into Loki's body.

Loki was immediately knocked flying, crashing hard into the wall, and then falling heavily to the ground.

The Hulk pounded the ground with his fist the size of a washbasin, continuing to charge towards Loki, but Loki erupted first.

"Enough! You lowly, despicable humans!" Loki roared at the Hulk, his words righteous and stern, "I tell you, I am a god! I won't be…"

Loki's words stopped abruptly halfway through.

Because the Hulk suddenly reached out and grabbed Loki's legs, he used Loki like a hammer, swinging him and smashing him hard into the ground.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Loki's body slammed into the ground several times, creating several deep pits.

Loki, watching himself get pummeled by the Hulk: "..."

"Fake, this must be fake! This is definitely fake!"

Loki's face flushed red, his mouth twitching constantly as he pointed at the big screen and shouted.

"You're deliberately doing this to humiliate me, aren't you?" Loki then scanned the crowd, yelling.

But in reality, Loki was just being stubborn to save face. Deep down, he actually believed the quiz system.

The inexplicable deduction of ten years of divine power, and the images of the Chitauri invading the city, all indicated that what everyone had said before was very likely true.

The answer system had a high probability of truly foreshadowing the future.

It was just that the future was too messed up, and Loki refused to admit it.

"Loki, shut up! You're interrupting our viewing of a great show!" Tony Stark shouted at Loki, his eyes glued to the big screen, unwilling to look away.

The other people were also engrossed in the exciting scene and had no time to pay attention to Loki.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

On the screen, Hulk repeatedly pounded Loki several times before, as if throwing out trash, tossing Loki onto the ground.

Loki lay there helplessly, his eyes vacant, his face blank, as if Hulk had beaten him senseless.

After casually throwing Loki to the ground, Hulk didn't bother with him anymore and began to walk away, moving forward on his own.

As he walked, he revealed a face full of disdain and contempt. He glanced at Loki and grumbled, "Weak god!"

The screen froze on Hulk's face, which was filled with utter contempt.

Pfft!

Everyone present almost burst out laughing.

Hulk's final words were the finishing touch. They weren't that harmful, but the insult level was off the charts. His venomous tongue was far more potent than Tony Stark's, who was usually quite the wordsmith.

Tony Stark couldn't even catch up.

"Wow, Hulk is really violent!" Black Widow couldn't help but tease, glancing at Loki.

"I never realized Hulk had such a talent for language!" Tony Stark immediately piled on. "'Weak god'! Few words, but so evocative!"

"I had so many words in mind, like 'a god only has this much strength,' 'who's the ant now,' 'won't be bothered by ants, I'm listening,' and so on, but none of them were as effective as Hulk's words..."

"Enough!"

Loki angrily cut off Tony Stark, his entire face twitching. He wished he could find a hole to crawl into.

He felt a burning sensation on his cheeks, and he was utterly mortified.

"You feel humiliated?" Captain America glanced at Loki, his face serious as he spoke. "You should be grateful we stopped you!"

"When you truly lead the Chitauri in the invasion of New York, you'll experience real humiliation! You'll experience even greater humiliation: failure!"

"You brought a massive alien fleet to invade Earth, yes, you caused us some trouble, and even made us despair at one point."

"But in the end, we were victorious! And you, the invader, will be utterly defeated!"

Captain America's words were full of warning.

But this speech also conveyed another message to Loki: Captain America knew what Loki would do in the future! The term "Chitauri" was not something a mortal from Midgard could possibly know.

"Do you know what my purpose is for coming to Midgard this time?" Loki stared guardedly at Captain America, then glanced at everyone present.

"Yes, we do," Nick Fury nodded heavily. "You want to use the Tesseract to open a portal and let the Chitauri invade Earth. Loki, we know everything about you!"

Loki's expression couldn't help but darken, becoming somewhat ugly, and he was also surprised.

He had to admit, this feeling of being completely seen through was truly unpleasant, absolutely terrible.

Originally, after witnessing the true power of the Tesseract, Loki had come to Earth full of ambition, intending to make a big splash on Earth and achieve great things.

But who would have thought that before his plan could even unfold, Loki had been captured as soon as he arrived on Earth.

Not only that, but the other side knew all his plans.

It's just too ridiculous! How is he supposed to play this? "So, this quiz really can predict the future?"

After a long while, Loki finally spoke, his tone a mixture of disbelief and gravity. He managed to utter these words.

By now, Loki had no doubts about the quiz system.

This mysterious quiz system could indeed predict the future, just as everyone else had said!

No wonder…

Thinking of this, Loki suddenly understood.

No wonder he had been ambushed the moment he arrived; they had clearly known he was coming, thanks to the quiz system!

"That's right, Loki. We know far more about you than you realize! We know what you're planning!" Tony Stark warned Loki sternly. "So, don't try any tricks!"

"No tricks. You already know my plan, and I'm in your hands. I have to admit, my previous plan is dead in the water."

Loki shrugged. "And now, I'm not even interested in invading Midgard."

Loki wasn't lying; his biggest interest right now was actually this quiz system that could predict the future!
