Chapter 301 - We Have Several Ways to Deal with Thanos

"So that's how Stormbreaker's handle was formed," T'Challa said with some surprise.

They had already guessed that the handle might be made from Groot's "parts," but they never imagined it would be done in such a way.

It had to be said—although Groot only delivered the final, decisive step, his role was absolutely critical.

Without him, Stormbreaker could never have been completed.

Or rather, if Eitri had gone to look for another handle and attached it later, Thor would have been long dead by then.

And it wasn't just Groot.

Rocket Raccoon, Thor, and Eitri—every single one of them was indispensable to Stormbreaker's forging.

Without Rocket and Thor, the dying neutron star could not have been reignited.

Without Thor, the forge could not have been opened.

Without Eitri, forging would have been impossible.

Without Groot, Stormbreaker could not have been completed in time—and Thor would have been doomed.

"So, Thor… does that mean you're carrying around someone else's arm all the time now?" Tony Stark couldn't help but quip. "When you really think about it, that's kind of weird."

"Stark, why do you have to make it sound so creepy?" Thor said helplessly. Tony's phrasing made it sound like he was some kind of pervert.

"That dwarf race is really tragic," Peter Parker said softly. "An entire planet wiped out, leaving only Eitri alive."

"Kid, that won't happen again," Thor said, glancing down at Peter with a smile.

Now that they possessed so much future intelligence and had made so many preparations, letting Thanos successfully massacre Nidavellir again would be nothing short of total failure.

"Thor, besides Xandar, we can also prepare in advance on Nidavellir," Captain America said seriously to Thor and the others.

They already knew that in the future, either Xandar or the Ravagers would obtain the Orb—the Power Stone.

Thor had already infiltrated both places with Asgardian forces.

No matter who obtained the Power Stone, Asgard would know immediately.

Asgard had even dispatched its own forces to search for the Orb as well.

Who would find it first remained uncertain.

But regardless, based on the future revealed by the quiz system, the Power Stone was destined to be Thanos's first target.

That gave them room to maneuver.

They could set up ambushes in advance.

And now, they had learned of another "mandatory route" Thanos would take—

Nidavellir.

This was a place Thanos would inevitably visit.

Which meant their plans now had even more flexibility.

"That's right," Thor nodded heavily. "Whether it's to stop Thanos or protect Nidavellir, we must prepare in advance there."

There was no debate about it.

[Question: Why did Ant-Man Scott Lang dream that he became Hank Pym's wife Janet and played hide-and-seek with Hank Pym's daughter Hope?]

[A. A normal everyday dream with no special meaning]

[B. FBI agent Woo injected Scott Lang with hallucinogens to force him to reveal Hank Pym's whereabouts]

[C. Scott Lang became quantum-entangled with Janet while entering the Quantum Realm]

[D. He accidentally entered Westview and was influenced by Scarlet Witch's magical illusion]

[Friendly Reminder: Correct answers will be rewarded with a pair of Superman's glasses; incorrect answers will result in the random deduction of one personal attribute, including but not limited to knowledge, experience, skills, or possessions…]

The system's voice abruptly rang out, interrupting the discussion.

A new question appeared.

After scanning it, everyone's gaze toward Scott Lang instantly became… strange.

"Mr. Scott, you dreamed that you became someone else's wife and played hide-and-seek with their daughter?" Peter Parker exclaimed exaggeratedly. "No offense, but that sounds incredibly creepy!"

Peter even broke out in goosebumps.

A grown man dreaming he turned into someone else's wife?

Terrifying. Absolutely terrifying.

"Scott," Thor said, eyeing him like a deviant, "I never imagined your inner world was… like this."

He even subconsciously took a few steps away.

"While dreams don't necessarily mean anything," Tony Stark added solemnly, "some dreams do reveal underlying issues. Lang, I recommend seeing a therapist to check for gender identity confusion."

Scott Lang nearly burst into tears.

There was no clearing his name now.

"Everyone, everyone!" Scott protested frantically. "I'm normal, okay? One hundred percent normal! And Stark, I do not have gender identity issues. I'm a man—very much a man!"

"Let's analyze the question first," Captain America said calmly, restoring order as usual.

He began with Option A.

"A normal dream?" Steve pondered. "Everyone dreams. Except maybe Thor—Thor, do gods dream?"

"Of course," Thor nodded seriously. "We sleep, and when we sleep, we dream."

"If that's the case, dreams can be random, or reflections of one's thoughts," Steve continued. "But this particular dream doesn't seem random. It feels too specific—more like a reflection of inner thoughts."

Everyone tended to agree.

Dreaming simultaneously of Hank Pym's wife and daughter was far too coincidental.

Those were the two people closest to Hank Pym.

The probability was extremely low.

After all, they weren't Scott Lang's own wife and daughter.

"If that's the case," Peter Parker gasped, "doesn't that mean Scott secretly fantasizes about his mentor's wife and daughter? That's insanely creepy!"

Peter stared at Scott with increasing suspicion.

"No, Peter," Thor said cheerfully. "He dreamed he became Hank Pym's wife. That means he has feelings for Hank Pym—not the wife."

Scott's creepiness rating skyrocketed.

"Stop! Thor, stop!" Scott waved frantically. "I would never have such a dream! Option A is impossible—completely, absolutely impossible!"

Everyone accepted that.

Scott Lang being that kind of person was clearly nonsense.

Option A was eliminated.

They moved on.

"Agent Woo?" Scott asked. "Does anyone know him?"

Everyone shook their heads.

So he was likely just an ordinary agent.

"The option says FBI," Peter Parker said hesitantly. "Would they really use hallucinogens? Isn't that illegal? Is that stuff in movies actually real?"

"Kid," Tony Stark said, patting Peter's shoulder, "the world is darker than you think. Compared to what intelligence agencies really do, hallucinogens are child's play."

"I'm sorry," Captain America added gravely, "but that's reality."

"But the problem with this option isn't the method—it's the result," Steve continued.

"If Scott were drugged, there would be hypnosis or psychological guidance involved. The hallucination would be deliberately steered."

"And since the goal was to find Hank Pym, the hallucination should relate to him."

"But we already know Hank Pym's wife died years ago."

"That doesn't line up."

Everyone nodded.

The logic simply didn't hold.

"What about Option C—quantum entanglement?" Scott asked.

"I don't know what that is," Peter said seriously, "but it sounds very advanced."

"It's quantum physics," T'Challa mused, turning to Tony Stark. "Do you understand it?"

Unfortunately, Stark only knew the basics.

"Well," Thor chuckled, "this is the first time I've seen Tony Stark admit he doesn't know something."

"I'm a genius, not a god," Stark shrugged calmly.

Nobody present understood quantum entanglement—not Thor, not Steve, no one.

The discussion stalled.

"But…" Captain America said thoughtfully, "Hank Pym's wife is dead."

"That alone should eliminate this option," Thor said confidently.

"Normally, yes," T'Challa countered, "but we've just learned that time behaves differently in the Quantum Realm."

"The time machine itself is based on that."

"Isn't it possible Scott entered the past—back when Janet was still alive?"

Thor was left speechless.

The logic was sound.

"Not only that," Tony Stark added, "the option says Scott encountered Janet in the Quantum Realm."

"What if Janet didn't die—but entered the Quantum Realm and survived?"

A bold theory.

But not impossible.

"So…" Thor sighed, spreading his hands, "we're back to the same problem."

"What exactly is quantum entanglement?"

Another dead end.
