Chapter 2 - petty victory

"No way am I going to be cannon fodder!" Kevin grumbled internally. "There are plenty of opportunities in the Douluo Dalu world—even if I awaken at just soul level 1, I still have a shot at godhood!" He paused, deep in thought.

"Given that both Ah Yin and Tang Hao were incredibly talented soul masters, I should awaken with at least level 6 soul power. The real question is… what martial soul will I get?"

"The Martial Soul Hall will never let me live if they discover my identity through the Clear Sky Hammer…" he realized, a chill creeping down his spine. "That hammer isn't just powerful—it's a death sentence with a target on my back."

His expression darkened. "I don't want the Clear Sky Hammer. Screw them. They never accepted Ah Yin, and that idiot Tang Hao actually begged for forgiveness at his father's grave—after they abandoned her. What a disgrace."

There was only one exception in Kevin's eyes. "The only person in that clan I can tolerate is my aunt. And it's not because she's gorgeous or anything… Ahem!" His thoughts began to drift into… less noble territory.

Snapping himself back to reality, he scowled. "Back to the point—I doubt I can awaken dual martial souls like that hypocrite Tang San. He only managed it because of the Mysterious Heaven Technique that gave him a full level 10 innate soul power."

"Still, I have half-pure Blue Silver Emperor blood, so awakening Blue Silver Grass is pretty much guaranteed."

Kevin sighed. "The best I can do right now is to make sure Tang San doesn't get an easy path. If I can mess with his cultivation a little, maybe—just maybe—I can stop him from awakening the Clear Sky Hammer."

"This is my chance to teach that little brat a lesson—along with that green-haired fraud Yu Xiaogang, Dai Mubai, and his two lackeys. Not because I'm jealous or anything! Definitely not because I'm a cao thief!"

Kevin tilted his baby head to the right, grinning wickedly as he stared at the infant Tang San, who looked far too innocent for what Kevin had in store.

"Heh… Tang San, your peaceful days are over. Is this what I think it is?"

With a sly grin, Kevin tilted his tiny body to the left and started aiming his baby butt right at Tang San's face. Then—Pfffft!—he let it rip.

Tang San's eyes widened in horror. "Hmm?" He could sense danger, but it was too late.

Poof!

A green, noxious cloud enveloped him. He froze.

Kevin cackled inside his head. "Hahaha! I'm just a baby! He can't kill me… right?"

As Tang San's face turned pale from the toxic assault, Kevin laughed silently, basking in his petty victory

Three years later...
