Afterwards, Tang Yin returned to searching for soul beast he had marked during his previous visit. Sunset forest had a wide range of strong soul beasts, many of which were suitable for Zhuqing, Rongrong, and Dugu Yan.
Eventually, using telepathy, he located the one he'd been waiting for— Netherworld Civet Cat, about 30,000 years old. Perfect for zhuqing.
This was the same kind of beast that had given Zhuqing the Hell Connected Shadows skill in the original story—an incredibly useful ability.
He turned to the others. "This will be your next opponent," he said. "Give it everything you've got. Its skills are tricky—it can create multiple doppelgangers to attack at once."
The girls nodded and took their positions. The civet cat, now surrounded, snarled before suddenly lunging at Lingling, clearly seeing her as the easiest target among the group.
In an instant, it used its darkness attribute to split into three shadow clones, each one was powerful as the original. It could freely teleport between them, making it nearly impossible to track or pin down.
But numbers had their advantage.
After a long and exhausting three-hour battle, the girls finally brought it down. The civet cat slumped to the ground, completely drained of soul power. Exhausted and gasping for breath, the girls shared the same state: fatigued yet victorious.
Tang Yin chuckled as he looked at their sweat-drenched faces."So, tricky opponents are your weakness, huh?" he teased. "Your teamwork only works when enemies charge straight at you. Against tricky skills? Its really useless."
Rongrong pouted but couldn't argue. She was still out of breath. Instead, she did the next best thing—she chased after him, trying to bite his arm with her silver teeth.
The others, equally frustrated, joined in. Tang Yin laughed as they all chased him like a pack of annoyed kitten—Their efforts were useless.
As they rested, Tang Yin used his telepathy in order to control a nearby decade-millennium soul beast. Without any weapon, he killed it with just his bare hands.
The girls watched in stunned silence, unable to believe the strength he casually displayed.
Huo Wu turned to Rongrong in disbelief.
"Hey, what's the deal with his strength? Didn't you say his wuhun evolved from Blue Silver King to Blue Silver Emperor?"
Shui Bing'er and Yue'er perked up, intrigued. Not just them—Zhuqing and the others quietly eavesdropped, equally clueless about him.
Rongrong hesitated, "Yes, he awakened the Blue Silver Emperor before, but that should have only strengthened his wuhun, not his body. I honestly don't know anymore."
Tang Yin smiled quietly as he overheard their conversation but chose not to explain himself.
Don't the girls love a little mystery? He wasn't about to reveal his secrets—where else would he get such cute reactions from?
Meanwhile, the soul ring hovered above the dead beast. Tang Yin absorbed its soul power, channeling it into the Netherworld Civet Cat. Its dark fur grew longer and denser, its body size swelling massively. When it surpassed 50,000 years, he sacrificed the beast.
Zhuqing absorbed the soul ring within an hour, her soul power soaring from level 50 to level 58—partly thanks to the 100,000-year-old soul bone she had absorbed a year earlier.
Zhuqing smiled sweetly at him and explained,
"Everyone, I've risen to level 58. The new skill is called Shadow Blink. It works alongside my fourth skill—Hell Shadow Doppelganger. I can instantly teleport to any of my clones and gain a 50% agility boost for half an hour. Plus, any lethal attack to me will transfer the damage to my clone, which dissolves instead of me."
Tang Yin hadn't expected such a broken skill from a fifty-thousand-year-old beast. Lost in thought, he was startled when Zhuqing silently came up beside him and gently pecked on his cheek. Well, he thought with a smirk, she's my lover, so I really can't complain.
From now on, Tang Yin decided he would only choose darkness-attributed soul beasts for her to help evolve her martial soul. He stored the Netherworld civet cat's leg soul bone inside his storage ring, already planning their next step.
Next up, they continued to hunt suitable beast in the forest sharing light banter. Tang yin had never felt bored in the presence of his lovers. Which was also one of the reason why he had wanted a harem. In the god realm he would be bored to death without any entertainment.
This was also the reason many God searched for successor instead of retaining immortality.
Three days later,
Ning Rongrong obtained a soul ring from sixty thousand year old sabertooth tiger and gained the Attack power amplification skill. Her soul power surged from level 50 to level 59 as well.
Tang yin found a Diamond Mammoth through his Telepathy which was around 20,000 years old. It was very much suitable for Meng yiran due to its earth attribute. Its defense was top tier even comparable to fifty thousand year old
The girls struggled to fight and break its defense but with the help of Xiao mei fourth skill—Sword feather alongside her first soul skill—Steel feather which made the already sharp feather stronger than steel.
Its penetrating ability shocked everyone. Even Tang yin was proud of his choice for her soul ring. "Hehe do you see that? That's my work. What are you jealous?"
He teased Rongrong and Huo wu who had the worst temper but they both huffed in frustration promising to teach him lesson when they were strong enough.
Tang Yin increased its age to fifty thousand years and sacrificed the beast to Yiran. Her soul power surged from level 50 to 59, and she gained the skill—Diamond Crushing Impact.
"I can channel the immense strength of the Diamond Mammoth into a devastating strike by slamming my Dragon Cane into the ground. This sends a concentrated, crushing pillar of earth straight at the enemy, piercing through all their defenses." Meng yiran explained,
"The strike stuns the enemies for five seconds, overwhelming them with force. After the strike, my attack power will increases by 30% for 50 seconds." she added boldly—snuggling up to him in front of everyone without any shame.
Next up for Dugu Yan, Tang yin decided to hunt the soul beast himself. It was a truly dangerous creature—the 50,000-year-old Pink Datura Snake, the same beast Tang San struggled against in the original story.
Tang Yin knew this would be a long drawn-out battle. He wasn't certain if his telepathy alone could make the snake submit, so he planned to break its will through sheer strength—crushing its resistance before finally forcing it into submission and sacrificing it.
He instructed Dugu Yan to lower the defense and asked Rongrong and Lingling to boost his strength. As Dugu Yan's fifth soul ring flared, she shouted softly,
"Fifth Soul Skill—Red Poison Cloud!"
The poisonous cloud drifted toward the Datura Snake, which inhaled it reluctantly. Instantly, its defense dropped by 33%.Meanwhile, Tang Yin inhaled the poison and his defense increased by 33% for the next 33 minutes. At the same time, Rongrong and Lingling cast their buffs:
"Fifth Soul Skill—Attack Power Amplification!"
"First Soul Skill—Attack Power Amplification!"
His attack power surged by 60% and 30% respectively. Raw power coursed through his veins as his spirit body ached to crush the Datura Snake.
Without using his Blue Silver Emperor , Tang yin went full-on rampage, striking the Datura snake with fists and kicks. His awakened Spirit Body alone possessed strength comparable to a Soul Saint.
"Hiss—" The Datura snake hissed bearing the barrage of heavy punch one after another.
"Haah!" Tang Yin roared, launching relentless flurry of punches. This was the true advantage of his spirit body—being able to unleash 100% of his strength without loss.
The Datura Snake retaliated, spewing toxic gas, but Tang Yin ignored it, his healing factor detoxifying the weak poison with ease. He even tanked a tail strike, absorbing its kinetic energy with Energy Absorption.
The girls watched nervously but soon relaxed seeing no wounds or signs of struggle on Tang Yin. With Rongrong's and Lingling's buffs, he could likely go toe-to-toe with a Soul Douluo.
Though Tang Yin's strength overwhelmed the beast, the Datura Snake fought tenaciously, hissing in pain but refusing to yield.
Two hours later, the girls saw the Pink Datura Snake battered, its scales black and blue from wounds. Tang Yin had enough—he gathered all absorbed kinetic energy into a single punch and struck the snake's head.
The beast collapsed defeated, and Tang Yin instantly used Telepathy to attack its spirit.
His clothes were tattered from absorbing countless strikes. Slowly, he removed his garments before everyone, revealing his lean, muscular body—reminiscent of Hercules when he possessed his spirit body, though leaner in normal form.
While waiting, Tang Yin used Telepathy to control nearby soul beasts, instructing the girls to defeat them. Afterward, he increased the Datura Snake's age from 50,000 to 90,000 years and stopped.
Finally, he sacrificed the beast to Dugu Yan. She eagerly awaited the soul ring from such a powerful beast—and it didn't disappoint. Her soul power surged from level 60 to 67, fueled by the 100,000-year-old soul bone she had absorbed a year prior.
Her new skill was called—Jade Phosphorus Doom.
"I can fuse the deadly toxins of the Datura Snake with my Jade Phosphorus Serpent to summon a massive phantom serpent that crashes into the enemy ranks and erupts in a poisonous shockwave engulfing everything around it."
"It deals 300% venom damage in a 90-meter radius and ignores all defense boosts. The neurotoxin stuns enemies for 9 seconds and reduces their movement speed by 45% until they detoxify. Venom Corrosion weakens their physical and elemental resistances by 45% for the same duration."
Tang Yin nodded thoughtfully. "This 90,000-year-old soul ring is comparable to some Titled Douluo ninth rings. The venom damage alone is enough to restrain your enemies; the other effects are overkill. Can you feel your Wuhun evolving?"
Dugu Yan smiled, nodding. "Yes, my Jade Phosphorus Serpent is far stronger now. Maybe the next soul ring will let it fully evolve—like Grandpa's?"
Excited, she hugged Tang Yin and pulled him in for a kiss. The Shui sisters looked on, Yue'er shooting a resentful glance at her older sister Bing'er. "Look at them, openly spreading dog food. It's all your fault," she muttered.
The other girls waited restlessly for their turn, eyes burning with determination. Inspired by Dugu Yan's explosive growth, each of them shared the same fierce desire—to grow even stronger, to stand proudly at Tang Yin's side, and help him lead the Tang Sect to become the most formidable force on the continent.
Suddenly, a massive dragon-like serpent appeared within Tang Yin's Telepathy range. It was a beautiful 30,000-year-old Sky Piercing Dracosnake—a hybrid of the wind dragon.
Tang Yin ordered the girls to attack the beast for Xiao Mei. Meng Yiran's fifth soul ring flared brightly as she became excited.
"Fifth Soul Skill—Diamond Crushing Impact!"
Meng Yiran channeled the immense strength of the Diamond Mammoth, slamming her Dragon Cane into the ground. A concentrated pillar of earth element shot forth, piercing the dracosnake's defenses and stunning it for five seconds.
"Fourth Soul Skill—Earth Dragon Release!"
The pillar transformed into a giant earth dragon, its attack power boosted by 30% for 50 seconds thanks to her fifth soul skill. The Earth Dragon striked the stunned dracosnake, crushing it under Meng Yiran's control.
She couldn't help but boast, "Hehe, did you all see? Am I strong or what?"
Tang Yin chuckled and controlled two nearby 15,000-year-old soul beasts to push the Sky Piercing Dracosnake beast's age to 60,000-year-old. The transformation was immediate. Its beast's wings expanded, growing broader and more majestic with each passing second.
Then he sacrificed the soul beast to Xiao Mei, increasing her soul power from 50 to 58. Nine months of relentless cultivation helped her keep pace with the others.
"Everyone, my soul skill is called Sky Piercing Dracosnake's Body," Xiao Mei announced to everyone confidently. "It transforms my body to resemble the Dracosnake's—scales harder than steel, and my attack power also increases exponentially. It lasts for 30 minutes."
"This means other than me and Dugu Yan no one can defeat you for the next thirty minutes. It's a great soul skill Xiao Mei your luck is really great." Tang yin praised her gently, not just to compliment her, but to lift her confidence—so she'd never feel like she deserved any less than the others.
While searching for suitable soul beasts for Huo Wu and the Shui sisters, Tang Yin found a 25,000-year-old Flaming Gorilla—perfect for Huo Wu. The girls easily defeated it with the Shui sisters' help.
"Second Soul Skill—Ice Armor!"
Shui Bing'er covered the main attackers in ice armor with extreme ice attributes providing them ample protection from it's fire attribute.
"Fourth Soul Skill—Frozen Vortex!"
Yue'er summoned a spiraling typhoon of water and ice shards, sweeping the Flaming Gorilla away easily. Her newly evolved wuhun was not to be underestimated.
Eventually, they defeated the beast. Tang Yin then killed three nearby soul beasts increasing its age to 50,000 years. Finally, he sacrificed the soul ring to the restless Huo Wu.
Her soul power rose from level 50 to 57, and she gained a new skill called—Crimson Meteor Strike.
"By channeling my ultimate fire energy into a single devastating punch, the strike hits like a meteor crashing down, exploding with scorching heat and shattering defenses with a 500% fire attack boost. I doubt you can take it. Wanna try?" she teased Tang Yin.
Tang Yin raised his hand in mock surrender, acting hurt. "I helped you obtain a suitable soul ring and you threaten me? Is this really how you repay me? Can't trust anyone—sniff."
Huo Wu felt guilty, trying to apologize, but Rongrong laughed at her. "You don't really think he means it, right? Are you serious?"
Huo Wu was stunned, catching sight of his restrained smirk. She gritted her teeth, silently vowing to make him pay for making her feel guilty. Yet she kept pestering Tang Yin, leaving him to wonder—why had he played with fire in the first place?
They bantered and played around during the hunt, but despite their efforts, they still couldn't find suitable soul rings for the Shui sisters.
After a week of searching through forests and valleys, they returned to the Tang Sect—tired and slightly annoyed. Shui Bing'er and Yue'er were deflated due to their bad luck.
Seeing their disappointment, Tang yin made up his mind to take these two Shui sisters and head towards the Far North determined to find suitable soul rings worthy of their talents.
