Lady Ismerae smiled, nodding the same as the whole family behind her. "Then convey to the Queen that the White Serpent is hers as much as it is ours. If she still sees us as family as she says, then our fleet will move if she commands it. Our sails will be raised if she wills it. Our paddles will divide the seas if she asks of it. And her daughter will be our daughter if she wishes for it.
Ember swallowed, presenting a doubly sealed letter to the Lady. "My mother's goodwill, wishes and commands are all written in this letter to you."
And one of those wishes written in the secret letter included the fact that the Queen wished to enthrone her daughter as rightful scion to the throne with no one to contest the title.
And among other things that Ember knew of… especially one treasonous request where the Queen asked that a fleet of a hundred war ships be built for her.
