*A few minutes prior to Nala Se leaving her lab*
Several clones walked through the hallways, passing by the window where rain tapped against the glass, creating a faint clinking sound with each drop. Some clones were casually chatting during their brief break between training sessions, while others were carrying supplies across the facility.
"Hey... Have you ever accidentally masturbated while looking at an old picture of your mom?" He looked at his friend, waiting for a reply, but all he got was his friend spitting out water and then quickly turning back to the clone, confused by what had just been said. "Who the hell starts a conversation like that!"
"What? It's an honest question." He stared at the clone with a blank expression, unsure whether he was simply naive or something more. "We don't even have a mother, dude. The closest thing we have to a mother is those Kaminoans."
"So you don't think they are hot then?" By the minute, the clone felt like he was losing brain cells the more he talked with his friend. " No one in their right mind would find them attractive." Without warning, his friend pointed out in front of them. "What about him?"
He looked over and saw a lone clone crouched in the corner, peering out from his cover at something the other two clones didn't notice. "Just keep walking, man, you don't want to end up like him, do you?" The clone shrugged, while the other simply slapped the back of his head and kept moving toward whatever place they were heading.
While those two and the many other clones didn't realize when giving strange looks to that clone peeking out from the corner, it was that he was fighting for better beds for them!
The clone was none other than CT-69. Since his little information-gathering mission a few days ago, he had been closely studying a certain Kaminoan scientist, who was none other than Nala Se.
Any breaks he was allowed were spent learning about the Kaminoan scientist's schedule, specifically the times she wasn't in her lab. There were only two windows when he could enter, and even then, he would have to sneak in exactly as she was leaving because she kept her lab under strict security lock.
He had only one opportunity to get this right, as he was pretty certain that if he were caught, he would be disposed of. They took their little rules about clones interacting very seriously.
*ZOOM*
Lost in his thoughts, he looked up when he heard the doors slide open nearby. He grasped the corner's edge and peered out, watching the Kaminoan scientist Nala Se emerge from her lab.
Nala Se was walking with her usual sway, moving her hips side to side. He couldn't tell if she was doing it intentionally, but he noticed something odd, she seemed lost in thought about something.
Biting his lips as every nerve in his body screamed for him not to go through with his plan, but instead of listening, he took a deep breath, trying to clear his mind before looking on with a determined look in his eyes.
It was now or never for him, and thankfully, since he had positioned himself around the corner where the wall connected to her lab's side, it meant she was facing away from him, which should help a little.
Finally, he stepped away from his corner, keeping close to the wall to stay out of her sight, and quietly approached her room, which hadn't been fully closed, likely because she was still nearby.
Eventually, thanks to whatever she was thinking about, he was able to slip past her and into her lab, which caused the sliding doors to shut.
"ZOOM"
He glanced over his shoulder, staring at the door, then looked ahead to check the room. If all went according to plan, she wouldn't be back for about 30-40 minutes, giving him enough time to explore.
His eyes strained slightly, trying to adjust to the darkroom, which was unusual since the Kaminoans' facility always had the lights on, no matter what. He glanced back, hoping to see a light switch on the wall, but there was none.
He sighed as he grabbed the bridge of his nose. They were taught how to operate a light switch because it was common knowledge, but they weren't taught about the light switches in the Kaminoans' facility, perhaps because they don't want anyone knowing how to control things that belong to them.
The only source of light was a large window looking out from who knows where, and a long desk in front of it connected to the wall. The desk held various items, including a computer terminal linked by wires and some equipment. He recognized some of the equipment, like microscopes and tubes, but that was about it.
The rest looked unknown to him, taking a closer step, examining the equipment, one of them had a top which he could lift, revealing a cycler piece with what looked like some vials that could be inserted.
Now that he was closer, he even noticed the syringe nearby with what appeared to be some blood vials, but there was more on the other side. Picking them up, he looked at the labels, reading what they contained. "Type A?, B? F.O.C.2? What the hell does that even mean?" he placed the vials on the left down while glancing at the one on the right. "Gungan = N? Rakata = N?" There were more vials on the right, but from what he could piece together, they all shared one thing in common: they were from aquatic species, aka the species that lived underwater, but why did she need those?
Finally, he turned his attention to the computer terminal, but then something else caught his eye. It was what was on the other side of the window; looking beyond, he could see the entire layout. There was the training room with ongoing fire drills and one of the large cafeteria rooms. Above those areas was just some open space where the dome ceiling was.
The site was just unavailable, but not for the reason you might think. As he looked around, his hand on the disk slowly clenched into a fist, and the longer he stared, the angrier he got.
He simply couldn't understand how you could have such a view of… of your creations, seeing every single thing they do and not feel any emotion about how they were treated. Of course, his whole plan was about getting a better bed, but there was more to it. They couldn't leave the facilities, let alone the plant. They train from 6 to 12 with very few breaks besides the one they get to eat, and they are treated terribly… like clone 99.
Finally, and hopefully for the last time, he looked down at the computer terminal and turned it on. Taking a few seconds, the screen appeared, prompting for login information… 'fuck'
The one thing he hadn't considered before was that he might need to log in information, and honestly, he didn't expect to get this far. He thought he would be caught and thrown off into the ocean below, but no, he was here without any idea what the password could be.
'Could she be one of those people who writes her password down?... yeah, no fucking chances.' He wondered if he could just brute force it. No, that wouldn't work because then she would realize someone was trying to access her computer.
He let out a breath, feeling somewhat frustrated, but he still figured the best approach was to look around for something she might be using as her password.
*Thump*
He quickly turned his upper body to look back after hearing a faint thud, like something dropping behind him. But before he could figure out what it was, he felt a force against his legs, knocking them out from under him and causing him to fall backward, hitting the back left of his head on the desk.
"AGH!" His eyes closed shut, wincing in pain as a surge of pain shot out through his body. He quickly tried getting up to fight the assailant, but he felt something land on his waist and something pushing down on him, pinning him to the floor.
He struggled to push the attacker away, and despite the darkness making it difficult, the window occasionally provided faint light when angled just right, offering him a small glimpse of his assailant.
From what he could notice, he had blond hair that was weirdly slicked back. But that was all he could see besides the weird beach shell on their head.
Taking a brief moment to compose himself, he quickly aimed an elbow strike at their ribs, noticing a slight wince of pain in response. Seizing the distraction, he quickly turned the situation around.
They rolled to the left, with him on top and the other person underneath. He placed his hand on their left chest, and suddenly, the person let out a girlish scream, surprising him. Before he could react, he was slapped across the face, causing him to roll further before he managed to stop himself and quickly stand up, just as they did.
He realized the person he thought was a guy was actually a woman. They were locked in a stare-down, with neither side backing down. While the clone adopted a defensive stance, the woman, on the other hand, covered her chest, and her face was slightly flushed.
That's when it hit him, though you could say both mentally and physically from that slap.
They exchanged glances a little longer before the woman took a breath and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. As the tension eased, Y/n gradually relaxed. "Who are you?" Y/n asked, waiting for an answer, but oddly, she smiled first before speaking. "It's usually the other way around, but why not? I'm omega."
She clasped her hands, and the light in the dark room finally switched on, giving him a clear view of the space. Two beds were in the room now that he could see, one in the left corner and the other on the right. "So, are you going to tell me your name?" she asked. His eyes moved back to the woman as she approached a table, sat on it, and stretched out her legs.
Should he really be sharing his name with a stranger? "Agh, I'm just messing with you, Y/n. There's no need to be so serious," he froze in place. He had never mentioned his name aloud inside that room. "So it doesn't make sense that she would know my name... am I right?" The clone grew more confused and suspicious the longer he talked to her.
"H-How do you know my name?" His voice had a hint of fear, not because he was afraid of the woman, but because if she knew his name, she could potentially tell Nala Se about him and what he was doing inside the room, if his guess about the woman was correct. He was starting to think she might be some kind of work associate. He wasn't entirely convinced yet, but that was his current theory."It's quite difficult, but I try to remember all the names of my brothers."
'Brothers?' The only ones who use that term are he and the other clones when they talk about each other. But this woman, whom he has never seen before, shows up, almost assaults him, and now she calls him and the other clones brothers. "Who are you?"
"Like I said, the name is omega!" Her attitude was entirely different from that of the clone. The woman sounded slightly excited, which surprised him because just minutes earlier, they had been fighting. "So are we just not fighting anymore?"
"I don't know…do you want to?" she said that in an almost innocent kid-like tone.
Taking a moment to figure out what was really happening, he finally noticed their outfit in full detail as the light persisted. Without going into too much detail, her outfit reminded him a lot of how she looked like Nala Se, right down to the little shell on her forehead. Noticing that he was looking at her, she smirked and raised a finger to her lips to signal silence. "You know, if you really wanted to see what's underneath, all you have to do is ask," she teasingly tugged at the bottom of her tunic, lifting it slightly but not enough to show any skin.
"I wasn't even-" before he could finish speaking, Omega interrupted him. "Too bad, since if I were to show you anything, it would get thrown into the waters below, because I'm only 17."
"Whoa, whoa, wait a second. If anyone was going to get thrown off into the water, it should be you, I'm like only…uh, 9" she smirked as she pushed herself off the table she was sitting on and came closer while laughing to herself, having fun. " I knew you would be my favorite brother."
"Why do you keep calling me your brother?" She walked closer towards the window, looking past it and down below, watching the clones. "Because you're all my brothers, and well, I'm a female clone of the same DNA, making me your sister."
He stood there, puzzled by her words, a female clone? "If anything at all of what you're saying is true, then don't you think you shouldn't be telling me this?"
She looked over at him with the same smile still on her face. "You're probably right, but well, you're the first person I have ever interacted with that isn't one of those Kaminoan scientists, and well, you're also part of the list of my brothers I want to meet."
"You want to meet me? Seriously? But I'm just a regular clone." She moved away from the window and started walking over to the wall, feeling along it for something. "Maybe, but something tells me that you're not all that it seems… well, that and I've been watching you for a while."
Talk about boundaries. Eventually, however, she pressed down on a spot along the metal, popping out one of the plates, and set it aside. "Come on, we can continue our talk somewhere with more cool than this lab," he glanced at the computer terminal, but sighed, knowing he wouldn't be able to get past the password protection.
Omega climbed inside the wall and started climbing up, following closely. He looked down, seeing a metal beam as a floor support, before looking up and climbing behind her. He was left unsure of what his next moves were, considering that not only was he caught, but his fate was now dangling like a string in this girl's hands.
But the twist of a sister was something he never saw coming, and he wanted answers. However, if what she said was true, then he would like to build this relationship with her, which he expected to be completely normal... Though from the way she acted a few minutes ago, he wasn't so sure.
Word count: 2500
You know, while I'm kinda disappointed, I didn't get to write the whole chapter as I planned, specifically with him finally leaving the room with his new plans in place. But I'm actually happy with how it ends.
Anyway, this is the images I was using for Omega when trying to think of her as an adult, or well, close to one. But I bet you guys didn't see that coming, huh, that's why I said it would be a while before anything happens with her. Anyway, credit to the artists for the artwork
