Mathew always hated the moment he had to face his father, his pathetic excuse of a father—no, sperm donor. The father that only came to him when he needed him, not when his mother died or when he was struggling with her in the dark alley.

He sighed, feeling a headache creeping into his head. He hated this feeling. He had come a long way. Mathew and his father had an agreement, an agreement to make one of the failing investments bloom within five years and then he would recognize Mathew as his legitimate son.

Mathew scoffed. He didn't need the man to recognize him, but he would do this for his mother. He would destroy everything that man had, as revenge for the hell he made his mother go through.

He adjusted his tie, feeling it uncontrollably tight, but he didn't want to give his father a reason to talk down at him with his other "worthy children."
