Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Fate, sometimes referred to as destiny (from the Latin word "fatum" meaning 'decree, prediction, fate, destiny'), is a series of predetermined events. Fate can be understood as a predetermined future, either in general or for an individual. It involves causality and future events that are not visible to the naked eye. The big question is, can someone's fate be changed according to their own will? If it can, then how? Are there any examples? These are the questions that a 20-year-old young man, Zixin, is currently thinking about as he sits in contemplation in a garden filled with beautiful flowers of various kinds. Zixin is a handsome young man who can make women fall in love with him at first sight. He has a sharp nose, perfect facial features, and short black hair that is modern. Additionally, Zixin has sharp, dark brown eyes with elegant almond-shaped eyelids. His eyebrows are thick and defined, sharp like a sword, and have a deep gaze. His face is flawless without any defects, with skin as white as snow. In other words, his face is truly handsome without any flaws, as if he had stepped out of a painting. His height is not too tall, nor too short, at 1.73 meters. His body is not big, but not skinny either; he just looks skinny on the outside but is strong on the inside. He weighs around 60-63 kg and has perfect muscles, which he often trains. When people first see him, they can't help but think, "How can someone be so perfect in this world?" It's truly discouraging to think about. Currently, he is staring at the sky with blinking eyes. His face is calm with an indifferent expression, as if he doesn't care about what's around him. A gentle breeze blows through his hair. Looking at the sky from the north, it starts to get dark, covering the bright sunlight of the morning. Not long after, Zixin's eyes blink as he sees raindrops approaching from a distance. He sits calmly, as if he doesn't care about the incoming rain. In just a few minutes, the rain will probably reach him and soak him. But at the critical moment, a man wearing a black suit, sunglasses, and a transparent raincoat, carrying an umbrella in his hand, runs quickly and skillfully opens the umbrella to shield Zixin from behind. "Young master, the rain is getting heavier, we should head back first so you don't get sick," the man says in a weak voice. For several days now, this young master has been coming here often to contemplate and reflect. What is he thinking about? The man doesn't know. Zixin hasn't moved from his spot; he just stretches out his hand to feel the cold raindrops, smiles, and says, "Mo Yu, isn't it beautiful to see the raindrops falling from the sky, reminding me of forgotten memories, as if I just want to sit here alone until I fall asleep and have a beautiful dream." Mo Yu remains silent, not knowing what to say because he doesn't understand what's going on in his young master's mind. Lately, he feels that Zixin seems different, but he doesn't know why. This isn't like his usual young master. After a few minutes of silence, Zixin finally stands up from his seat. The raindrops don't hit his head, but his feet aren't spared from the splashing rainwater that hits the ground. Slowly, the rain gets heavier and is accompanied by thunder. Boom! A loud rumble occurs after a long, blinding flash of light, illuminating the dark sky for a few seconds. Zixin doesn't know what got struck, but it's far away and doesn't affect him. He just blinks his eyes for a moment and doesn't pay attention to it anymore. He continues walking until he leaves the quiet garden. He thinks that the people who were having a picnic here earlier have probably fled, and it's evident because some food waste hasn't been thrown away yet; they were in a hurry. He leaves the task to the cleaning staff working in the garden. When they reach a silver car, the car doesn't look too luxurious, it's just ordinary. Mo Yu opens the car door with one hand and waits for Zixin to sit down before closing it. Zixin sits in the back seat and starts to remove his wet shoes, and his pants are also quite dirty, but Zixin seems not to care. Mo Yu gets into the car first, folds the umbrella, takes off the raincoat, puts it aside, and starts the car. After driving for a few meters, Mo Yu asks, "Young master, where are we going next?" Zixin, who is slowly closing his eyes, says softly, "Go home...," then changes his mind, "Go to Future Tekno company." Yes, Zixin is a big boss with a business empire. He has trillions of dollars in wealth, which is the result of his hard work. It's not without reason; he's a business genius. With an inheritance of only around $1 billion left by his parents, who passed away three years ago, he was able to multiply it thousands of times with his genius. To be more specific, Zixin is one of the most intelligent people in the world, with an IQ of 269. He completed his elementary education in 4 years, junior high school in 2 years, and high school in 1 year, all with perfect scores. Then, he continued his education at Harvard University abroad, which he completed in just one and a half years, astonishing the world! He achieved a record that no one else has ever achieved. Despite this, Zixin doesn't have an arrogant personality; instead, he has a calm and somewhat indifferent demeanor, except when he's around people close to him, where he sometimes shows a more cheerful side.

Just as he was finishing his education and about to return to his country, he received the devastating news that his parents had been involved in a tragic accident and died on the spot. In his family, he was the only child who was somewhat neglected because his parents prioritized their work over him. Therefore, Zixin wasn't too sad when he heard the news, but remembering that his parents had fulfilled his needs during their lifetime, he only hoped and prayed that his parents would live happily in the afterlife. After returning home, Zixin escorted his parents to their final resting place, and a few days later, he began to inherit the assets left behind by his late parents.

There's no regret; in this world, when someone faces the certainty of death, the living will be sad for a short time, and soon they'll forget, except when the deceased is someone truly important. But time will also erase the sadness. Is that really true? Is there no eternity in this world? With eternity, the things mentioned above wouldn't apply. With eternity, one would ignore death, time, and emotions. But... does it really exist?! This is what Zixin is currently searching for. When wealth no longer satisfies him, he wants to explore new things. He wants to find out about everything, about whether fate exists and can be changed, and whether humans can achieve it. For that, he really wants to push beyond his own limits. (To be continued)
