"Miles!"
Lillian was jolted awake from her sleep from a loud exclamation. Her eyes were blurry in the dark as she drowsily sat up on the bed. A deep frown settled on her forehead, irritated from being woken up so rudely.
Before she could process the situation, a pair of footsteps hurried towards her and grabbed on to her shoulders tightly, shaking her.
"Guess what! Eh, wait— why are you so lanky?" the woman sounded surprised.
Lillian lifted her head. In the dim lighting, she made out a figure of a woman. The woman stepped back and turned on the light. The young woman bore a pale complexion, dressed in the patient's uniform.
"Who are you?" The woman had her eyes widened.
Before Lillian could introduce herself, Miles stepped in the room. He removed his white coat meanwhile.
"Ari, what are you doing here?" Miles questioned. "Lillian, you're awake. Did you sleep well?"
She was until she was abruptly woken up.
