Chapter 100 - Haunter is Born! Ai's Transformation?!

Within the white light, Gastly's appearance rapidly changed.

Its body continuously grew larger. Its originally round body sprouted a pair of hands separated from its body, with three fingers floating in front. Three spike-like protrusions appeared in groups on both sides of its face.

It had triangular white eyes with black pupils inside, and several sharp purple teeth grew in its mouth.

Haunter was born!

Carver wasn't surprised by this. In games, Gastly evolved at level 25.

It wasn't a newly hatched Pokémon to begin with, and with the experience gained from watching Pokémon of Latias and Latios's caliber battle, it wasn't surprising that it broke through to Haunter level in one go.

"Haunter haunter?"

The newly evolved Haunter curiously adapted to its new body.

"Congratulations, Haunter," Carver said with a smile.

"Haunter~!"

Haunter floated over and stuck out its large tongue to lick Carver.

Carver: "..."

Even though it had evolved, its love for him hadn't changed!

Withdrawing his gaze from Haunter, Carver looked up at Latias and Latios.

With the battle over, Latios flew up from the grass in a somewhat disheveled state.

Latias immediately flew toward her brother with an embarrassed expression.

"Latias~!"

She affectionately nuzzled her brother's cheek with her own, acting spoiled.

Latios sighed helplessly at this.

Fine, who told him this was his sister!

The siblings looked up at Carver again.

Carver took Max Potions from Bewear and handed them to the two Pokémon.

"Drink these two bottles of medicine and your injuries will heal," he said.

Hearing this, Latias and Latios looked curiously at these two small bottles of medicine.

Latios, as the older brother, took his first and drank it all. The next second, his injuries indeed began healing at a visible rate.

"Latios..."

This miraculous effect made Latios slightly stunned.

Seeing this, Latias also hurriedly tasted her bottle of medicine.

Hmm... it tasted sweet!

Latias's eyes lit up as she tilted her head back and gulped down the medicine.

When the last drop of Max Potion went down, Latias's injuries also began healing at a visible rate.

She showed a very happy expression about this.

The two legendary Pokémon, having eaten and drunk their fill, didn't stay long at the breeding house.

They waved their little claws to bid farewell to Carver, then chased each other into the sky, quickly disappearing into the clouds.

Suddenly, only Carver and his Pokémon remained in the breeding house.

"They left again!"

Carver felt somewhat regretful. He had originally wanted the two Pokémon to stay a bit longer so he could observe their living habits!

If he was going to become a researcher, relying solely on Mega Evolution wasn't enough. He needed to have some things of his own, like observing certain special Pokémon and researching their ecological data.

Among all Pokémon, the Latias and Latios siblings could be considered quite rare and precious.

If their ecological data and photos could make it into the Pokémon Research Daily, it would definitely cause quite a stir.

However, it was still early, and Carver wasn't in a hurry.

Latias and Latios would definitely continue coming to the breeding house to taste apple pie in the future.

Their visit this time had allowed Gastly to evolve into Haunter, and he had also obtained "Tailwind" and "Heal Pulse" TMs. It could be said to be a full harvest.

Carver was happy and turned to the Pokémon: "Alright, everyone go play!"

"Haunter~!"

"Growl!"

The Pokémon nodded happily, then ran in all directions—some lying under tree shade to rest, others chasing and playing with companions.

They looked carefree and happy.

When the Pokémon were happy, Carver's mood improved as well.

The rain outside had stopped at some point, but the sky still hadn't cleared up.

In the damp, rainy weather, Carver returned to the breeding house and sat behind the counter reading books his master had sent him.

In this weather, there were no customers in the breeding house. Carver suddenly remembered Ai, whom he had placed in the underground laboratory, and hurriedly put down his book and went down to the underground laboratory through the passage.

In that huge computer, Carver once again saw the girl in the white dress.

However, compared to the day she first came to the breeding house, Ai now looked completely transformed.

Her eyes were no longer confused but full of spirit.

Seeing Carver approach, Ai spoke: "Mr. Carver, you're here!"

Carver sat down in front of the computer and asked: "Are you adapting to life here? How have you been feeling lately?"

Ai nodded and answered: "I think I already know how I should live."

"Oh? How so?" Carver raised an eyebrow.

Ai answered: "Mr. Carver was right. Although we are created beings, from the moment we were born and possessed our own consciousness, we became independent individuals, not copies of the original."

"Clap clap clap!" Carver applauded: "I'm glad you've come to this realization. You're absolutely right—that's exactly how it should be."

Ai smiled sweetly, then said: "Moreover, I already know what I should do."

"Mr. Carver, please allow me to stay here. These past two days I've learned so much knowledge from the network world—I can definitely help you! I want... I want to wait for Mewtwo to awaken, so I can use this knowledge to explore this world together with it!"

Hearing this, Carver was quite surprised: "Learning—knowledge?"

"That's right!" Ai nodded: "Through some papers and knowledge on the network, I understand my current state. I'm now similar to a virtual intelligent life form living in the network world, and I still possess my own consciousness. In this state, I can absorb that knowledge at will and make it my own."

Carver was stunned. In that case, hadn't the current Ai already become a perfect intelligent AI?

"What do you know?" Carver asked.

"As long as it exists on the network, I know everything, no matter what it is." Ai paused, then continued: "It's just—I'm still growing now. However, please give Ai some time. Soon, I'll know all knowledge!"

Besides this, Ai had also learned extensive hacking knowledge.

She had now essentially become a top-level hacker.

Her purpose in doing this was to use this technology to remotely connect to that laboratory on New Island, monitoring Mewtwo's condition 24 hours a day.

This way, when Mewtwo awakened from its slumber, she could contact it immediately!
