The Allied Shinobi Forces felt humiliated.
They had launched a full-scale attack on the small, war-torn Rain Village, expecting an easy victory. But to their shock, they didn't even see the leader of the enemy before being thrown into total chaos.
Kirigakure (the Hidden Mist Village) wasn't prepared for this scale of confrontation. Since they didn't join up with other villages beforehand, they lacked medical ninjas. Now, faced with dozens of poisoned shinobi, their limited medics were overwhelmed.
"This is bad," Terumi Mei muttered.
Andrew, standing beside her, activated his Mangekyō Sharingan. A wave of Senjutsu chakra flowed from him, washing over Terumi Mei and himself. Instantly, the poison and debuffs were neutralized.
"They were ready for this... The Akatsuki must've planned this ambush for a long time," Andrew said grimly.
Terumi Mei nodded. "This doesn't feel like just a fight anymore. There's something wrong about all this. The whole vibe of this mission—it's off. And this Rain Village... it feels eerie."
The Fourth Raikage gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. "We haven't even seen the Akatsuki yet and we're already suffering heavy losses. They dared use poison in the village's atmosphere! Rain Village itself boosts its effects!"
Onoki, the elderly Tsuchikage, stood silently. His face twisted with frustration. To think that all five Great Nations allied together, only to be embarrassed like this by a single rogue organization... it was disgraceful.
And just as he opened his mouth to speak—
BOOM!
A massive explosion echoed from deep inside Rain Village.
BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!
A chain of explosions followed—louder, faster, and closer.
"Terumi Mei, fall back now!" Andrew yelled, eyes wide.
He knew exactly what this was.
Konan might not have the legendary 600 billion explosive tags she once unleashed before, but even a fraction of that was terrifying. With her Paper Release, she could create countless explosive tags at will.
"Is the Akatsuki starting their counterattack?" Onoki muttered, half in disbelief. "It's just explosive tags! We've used them before! Even Uchiha troops used to throw them around like candy!"
But then—
The explosions didn't stop.
They multiplied. They intensified. They surrounded everything.
The entire Rain Village trembled. From rooftops, walls, sewers, and alleyways, paper tags began to ignite and blow.
One by one, the steel towers of Rain Village collapsed like dominoes, toppling onto soldiers and crushing them without mercy. The explosion's force was so great that even the most skilled ninjas had no time to dodge.
A Cloud Shinobi ran to Raikage and gasped, "Sir! The sensory division confirms—the entire Rain Village is filled with explosive tags!"
Everyone froze.
The entire village was a trap.
A trap designed to wipe out the coalition in one blow.
"Damn it... They turned the battlefield into a graveyard," Onoki muttered. His eyes were wide as more towers exploded, steel beams crashing down like rain.
Andrew's eyes sharpened. He activated his Byakugan—something he rarely did—and saw a glowing tag just beneath his feet. He quickly yanked it from the ground and tossed it away, causing a minor blast nearby.
"Konan..." he whispered. "Her control over Paper Release... is terrifying. She didn't just hide tags. She planted a bomb beneath every step we take."
At the heart of Rain Village, the explosions were so frequent that it felt like a war drum pounding directly into their ears. The entire central zone turned into a cratered wasteland, black smoke curling into the sky.
The surviving ninjas scrambled for safety. Onoki and Raikage both took action. Onoki floated in the air with his levitation technique, trying to spot survivors. Raikage dashed with lightning speed to pull people out of rubble.
But even the three Kage could do little.
Terumi Mei's Lava Style and Boil Style were powerful, but neither helped when people were buried under steel debris. Raikage's strength and speed helped a few, but there were just too many casualties.
Onoki gritted his teeth. He couldn't use his Dust Release—it would destroy the very people he was trying to save.
Andrew took a deep breath.
And then—
He summoned his Susanoo.
A massive, glowing blue warrior erupted around him, its form flickering with lightning. Its arms moved swiftly, shielding a cluster of wounded shinobi from falling steel beams.
"Susanoo...!"
From the shadows of a high tower, a cloaked figure watched in shock.
Obito.
"That's Andrew's Susanoo! I thought he refused to participate..."
He leaned too far and slipped from the pillar he was resting on, startled.
In Andrew's mind, a familiar system voice echoed:
[Ding! You've received 8467 negative feedback points from Uchiha Obito!]
Andrew blinked.
"More than 8,000? That's a critical hit…"
Before, he had disabled the notification system—it kept buzzing every time an Uchiha looked at him sideways. But this time... Obito's reaction broke the threshold.
Obito was watching from the shadows. And likely, the other Akatsuki members were watching too.
The explosions eventually stopped, but what remained of Rain Village was just rubble and fire.
And the Allied Forces?
Devastated.
More than half their numbers were gone. Konoha, Suna, and Iwa suffered the worst. Only Mist Shinobi had most of their units alive—thanks to their fewer numbers and Andrew's Susanoo shielding them.
Those who were lucky enough to survive stumbled through the smoking ruins, their faces pale and hollow.
"This... this can't be real," a Leaf Shinobi whispered. "It was a city just minutes ago... now it's nothing."
Rain Village wasn't just destroyed.
It was erased.
The Akatsuki had willingly sacrificed their base. Their message was clear: We don't care about territory. We care about winning.
And they just had.
The few medics that remained ran to and fro, dragging wounded ninjas from the rubble. The heavy scent of blood mixed with the stench of scorched steel filled the air.
For the first time in a long time... the Allied Forces were afraid.
And Andrew?
He stood silently inside his Susanoo, watching the devastation with unreadable eyes.
He didn't speak.
He didn't need to.
Everyone already understood—
The Akatsuki were not to be underestimated again.
