Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Wandering At Sea

After Eddie and Selene got onto the raft, he waved goodbye to the Pokémon on the shore: "Goodbye!" It's hard to say whether they will see each other again in the future!

In fact, Eddie knew that it was very risky to go out to sea on a raft, but he had no choice. He had no idea where the island was or how far it was from the mainland where humans lived. He couldn't hope that someone would pass by here by boat, right? Then he might have to wait on the island for more than 20 years like Chuck Noland. Who can stand this!

Under the control of Selene's psychic powers, the raft slowly drifted into the sea, and the figures of the Pokémon on the shore gradually disappeared from Eddie's sight.

In order to avoid getting lost at sea, Eddie specially made a simple compass using a magnet given to him by a little Magnemite on the island.

Drifting on the sea is very boring and lonely. After sailing for most of the day, Eddie said to Selene in boredom: "Mom, can I give you a name? Humans all have names, like my name is Eddie. Even though you are not human, as my mother, you must have a name."

When he arrived in the human world, it was inevitable that people would find it strange for him to call a Gardevoir mom. Although he didn't mind telling others that Gardevoir was his adoptive mother, some people with strong curiosity would inevitably ask questions.

Instead of explaining things to people over and over again, it is better not to arouse their curiosity in the first place.

As long as Gardevoir has a name, it won't be so weird if he calls Gardevoir by its name directly.

When Selene heard this, she found it novel, so she nodded and agreed: "Gardevoir~" Okay!

"Then what name should we give it?" Eddie frowned and thought, "My name is Eddie, and as my mother, why don't you call yourself Selene? Eddie and Selene... I feel like our names match well."

Gardevoir is a naive girl who always does whatever her son says. Besides, it doesn't know which name sounds good and which doesn't, so it happily agreed.

"Shana~" Okay!

The mother and son chatted with each other to kill time. After an unknown amount of time, Selene looked at Eddie with a bitter face and asked, "Shana~ Shana~" Can I take a break? I'm so tired!

Eddie frowned and disagreed: "Didn't you just rest? Why do you need to rest again? Do you know that this is to exercise your psychic powers? Why do you always want to be lazy? Have you forgotten that you are a great mother?" The eldest son just kept on fooling his mother with words.

[TL: Damn]

(o﹏o) Gardevoir had no choice but to grit its teeth and persevere.

At this moment, Eddie suddenly felt the raft begin to shake slightly. He stuck his head out and looked outside, only to see six or seven Magikarp surrounding the raft and flapping their tails violently.

Water splashes~ Water splashes~ Water splashes~

The Magikarp used their skills frantically, but nothing happened except that the raft shook unscathed...

"Good guy, you're looking for trouble, huh? I've chosen you! Selene, show them some color. Use Psychic!" Eddie was possessed by the spirit of drama, and from his tone, if you didn't know, you would think they encountered a Gyarados!

"Sana~"

Selene was also very interested in bullying children. Blue light flashed in her eyes. In an instant, eight Magikarp landed on the raft one after another.

Snap~ Snap~ Snap~

They still tried their best to use Splash and Struggle, but their movements were so clumsy that they couldn't even turn over.

"Hey hey~"

Looking at these eight lively Magikarp, Eddie had an "evil" thought in his mind.

Papapapa~"Swim faster, don't be lazy!"

Ten minutes later, Eddie waved the whip (cane) in his hand to drive away the Magikarp that were tied to the raft by spider silk. The Magikarp were afraid of being beaten, so they swam their tails quickly and pulled the raft.

"Wuhu~ cool!"

Eddie cheered as he felt the sea breeze rushing past his ears. This was much faster. Things in the water really had to be left to the professionals in the water.

Three days passed in a flash, and the vast ocean was still endless. Eddie did not see any trace of the coast, and he couldn't help feeling a little irritated.

Several Magikarp were still suffering from their labor being exploited by him.

However, Eddie did not let them work in vain. During their rest time, he would use his golden finger to help the Magikarp sort out the original energy in their bodies.

Although the Magikarp were silly, they instinctively knew that Eddie had brought them great benefits, so later on, Eddie hardly needed to whip them, and they worked very hard.

Because the Magikarp were working so hard, Eddie couldn't remember how far he had drifted on the sea in the past few days.

Seeing the sun rising to the center of their heads, Selene and his friends stopped to eat lunch.

Biting the fruit in his mouth, Eddie felt that he had almost forgotten what human food tasted like. Selene had raised him on tree fruit.

Selene has been very irritable these days. During mealtimes, she boredly broke the fruit in her hand into pieces and fed them to the Magikarp one petal at a time.

After Eddie's nourishment with the golden finger over the past few days, the Magikarp have become more and more majestic, their red scales are as bright as fire, and even their originally dull eyes have a hint of brilliance.

"Milu~"

At this moment, they suddenly heard a long and deep cry, and then a rainbow appeared in the sky. At the end of the rainbow, there was a slender figure hidden in the middle.

"Milu~"

The cry was heard again, and the rainbow disappeared, replaced by an extremely beautiful snake-shaped Pokémon.

"Damn, Milotic!" Eddie couldn't help but exclaimed.

This was the first time he had seen such a beautiful creature in real life. Its gorgeous scales sparkled under the refraction of sunlight, and it was so beautiful that it didn't look like a mortal creature. At this moment, Eddie truly understood why Milotic was called the most beautiful creature in the Pokémon world.

There is an insurmountable gap between pictures, game models, and real objects. Only by seeing them in person can you understand what ultimate beauty is.

The Milotic seemed to have noticed Eddie and the others as well. It turned its head and looked over here from a distance with a calm look in its eyes.

"Milu~"

There was an ethereal meaning in the voice of Milotic. Under the soothing influence of this voice, all the irritability that Eddie and Selene had accumulated over the past few days was swept away.

Under the dazzled gaze of Eddie and the others, Milotic disappeared into the sea.

After a long time, Eddie and several Pokémon gradually came back to their senses.

"You guys should also try your best to evolve into Gyarados as soon as possible." After Milotic disappeared, Eddie felt a sense of loss. He couldn't help but pat the heads of a few Magikarp.

When he saw Milotic, he couldn't help but think of Gyarados.

"Okay, let's continue our journey after eating."

Two days passed in the blink of an eye. On this day, a strong wind suddenly blew on the originally calm sea. As time went by, the waves became higher and higher, shaking the small raft from side to side. If Selene hadn't used her psychic powers to stabilize it in time, the raft would have capsized long ago.

Boom!!!

A golden light flashed across the sky, followed by a roar of thunder. Eddie looked up and saw dark clouds rolling back and forth in the sky, like giant dragons entangled with each other and full of anger, eager to poke a hole in the sky.

Crash~

Then heavy rain poured down, and the small raft was finally torn into pieces under the merciless beating of the waves. Although Selene tried her best to defend herself with her psychic powers, it was still of no avail.

Sometimes human power is too small in the face of the mighty power of nature.

Eddie and Selene fell into the water at the same time.

Eddie was too young and couldn't even struggle in such huge waves. He was directly knocked into the water by a huge wave.

Selene wanted to save Eddie, but a huge wave came towards her and she was thrown into the water. If she was stronger, she could use her psychic powers to fly Eddie out of the water.

But with her current strength, it is obviously not possible!

The situation of several Magikarp was better, after all, they were water-type Pokémon. After Eddie was submerged in the water, they swam to him against the huge waves and tried to lift him out of the water.

However, they were too small and the waves were too violent, and they were soon scattered by the impact of the sea water.

Am I going to die?

After being fed a bellyful of water, Eddie's consciousness began to blur.

Suddenly, a white light appeared on the sea, which was so conspicuous under the dark and depressing sky. In the light, a Magikarp stretched longer and longer under the beating of the waves, and finally turned into a ferocious Pokémon with a blue body.

Gyarados!

A Magikarp actually evolved into a Gyarados at a critical moment.

"Yeah~"

The newly born Gyarados raised its head and roared at the sky, as if venting its dissatisfaction, and then dived into the water. When it surfaced again, Eddie and Selene were already lying on its back.

After an unknown amount of time, the unconscious Eddie slowly opened his eyes: I... am not dead?

Then he found himself lying on the back of a giant blue beast.

"Shana~na~" Baby, you woke up!

Seeing Eddie waking up, Selene excitedly rushed over and hugged him.

"What happened? Were we saved by the Gyarados passing by?" Eddie, who hadn't figured it out yet, asked Selene.

"Sana~Sana~Sana~" Selene told Eddie about the evolution of Magikarp, which made Eddie sigh that he was lucky.

The storm had passed, and the sea was calm again. The previous rough scene seemed like a dream. The dazzling sunlight shone through the clouds, dyeing the sea water golden.

Gyarados was carrying Eddie and Selene and swimming aimlessly on the sea. Because they had lost the compass, they were now lost.

cluck~

At this time, Selene's stomach suddenly rumbled, and Eddie helplessly comforted her, "Be patient." Not only was the compass lost, but their food and fresh water were also washed away to who knows where by the waves.

"Sana~Sana~"

Suddenly, Selene let out a cry of surprise, and she suddenly stood up from Gyarados's back, jumping and hopping towards the distance.

Eddie looked in the direction Selene pointed, and saw a ship slowly approaching in the afterglow of the setting sun.

It's a boat! There are people! They are saved!

"Gyarados, catch up with that ship!" Eddie said to Gyarados excitedly. As for whether the people on the ship were good or bad, now was not the time to consider that.

"Roar~"

Gyarados nodded, took the slower-swimming Magikarp into its mouth, then suddenly accelerated and quickly chased after the ship.

About half an hour later, Gyarados finally caught up with the ship, panting. Pokémon like Gyarados don't have good endurance, and it's not easy for them to swim for such a long time without stopping.

"Why!!!"

Eddie shouted and waved loudly towards the people on the boat, and a sailor standing on the deck soon spotted him.

Huh? A child, a Gyarados, and a Gardevoir? How could there be such a small child in the vast ocean? Did they encounter a shipwreck?

The sailor quickly took out a Poké Ball from his body, and with a flash of white light, a Wingull appeared beside him.

"Wingull, bring the child up here."

At this time, Eddie looked at the Gyarados under him and asked, "Gyarados, do you want to go with me?" After a few days of getting along, and thanks to the one who saved his life, Eddie has developed feelings for Gyarados and several Magikarp.

Gyarados hesitated for a moment, then slowly shook his head.

"Is that so... Then we have to separate here. You and Magikarp and the others should take care of yourselves."

Eddie felt a little disappointed and relieved at the moment.

He was disappointed because he was going to be separated from Gyarados and the others, and he didn't know if he would see them again in the future. He was relieved because his future was uncertain, and Gyarados might not be able to live a good life even if he followed him, and he might be freer outside.

Climbing onto the back of the Wingull together with Selene, Eddie waved to the Gyarados below again: "Goodbye, thank you for your help these days!"

Gyarados and the seven Magikarp looked up at Eddie who was getting farther and farther away. After a while, they dived into the water and disappeared.

After boarding the ship, Eddie found that there were several more people on the deck. They surrounded Eddie and talked about something in a buzzing voice.

Then Eddie felt numb because he couldn't understand a word these people said.

Seeing Eddie staring at them blankly, one of the sailors frowned and said, "Could this kid have been in the sea for too long and become stupid?"

Captain Sanders squatted down, looked at Eddie gently and asked, "Kid, what's your name?"

However, the child just stared at him without saying a word.

At this time, he saw that the little boy seemed to have thought of something. He muttered a series of strange tones to the Gardevoir beside him, and then a smile appeared on his face.

Is this kid really a fool? Sanders couldn't help but wonder.

Eddie is certainly not a fool. He laughed because he found something interesting.

Although he couldn't understand the language of this world, Pokémon could, so as long as he used Selene's translation, he could know what the other side was saying.
