Prologue

What is death?

Death is the end of every destination.

Death is the end of every journey.

Death is the end of life.

Death is inevitable.

Death is the ultimate end of all things.

For a creature to defy death is to defy the very laws of the world...

A man stood on the ground—Long black hair flowed down his back, his black eyes reflecting the void above. His physique was strong—not overly large, but not slender either. He wore a black kimono, open at the front, revealing his chiseled chest and abs.

Above him hung an eclipse, dark and ominous.

Beneath it stood a tower—so massive, so impossibly tall, it pierced the sky and reached beyond, into the heart of the eclipse itself.

This tower was built by the followers of Satan, a being who had achieved divinity.

In his arrogance, he commanded his believers to build a tower to reach the heavens—

So he could declare himself a god.

But such defiance invited the wrath of six gods.

First came the ever-burning sun, scorching the land and reducing all to ash.

Where destruction reigned, creation followed—plants and trees sprouted from the charred ground, devouring the souls of the fallen.

With the plants came life, and with life came war. Blood soaked the earth.

As blood spilled, the moon rose, casting its pale light.

And with the moon came night, and darkness blinded them all.

Finally, the sun and moon aligned—an eclipse was born.

And from it, a shadow descended, offering mercy. In its grace, it welcomed them into its realm, where they could finally rest.

The man ascended the ruined staircase, step by step, to the top of the shattered tower.

He looked up at the eclipse and spoke:

"O God of Death... tell me. Tell me the secret of immortality."

To speak of immortality in Death's presence was the greatest blasphemy of all.

Yet the only response he received—was silence.

For Death knew—it was not yet time to claim this soul.

"I see..." the man whispered.

The world around him trembled, then shattered like fragile glass—It could not bear the presence of the six gods.

Finally, the world collapsed. All was swallowed by darkness.

And in that darkness, something whispered in the man's ear...
