Kaya exhaled slowly, forcing herself to calm down. She glanced at Veer, who was watching her with mild curiosity, then looked back at the book.
The handwriting was messy, clearly copied by someone who didn't fully understand what they were writing. But it was readable. Barely.
She flipped through the pages quickly, scanning for anything useful—names, locations, abilities, 'anything'.
Because if she'd come all this way just to find a bunch of books she couldn't even read, she was going to burn the whole place down.
