Chapter 2 - Her Turn for Revenge

Despite everything, I thought I would forgive her. But she crossed my limit when she took away the person I loved from me. That ignited an unknown fire of revenge within me. I knew then that I could never forgive her again.

Rahul was a student on our campus. He was not only intelligent and wise but also handsome. Rahul's character enchanted me because he respected everyone and helped those in need. From the very first day, I started liking Rahul. He would always come forward to help me in various troubles. For some reason, I felt that Rahul took special care of me. But I knew that wasn't true. Rahul treated everyone equally.

However, the care I didn't receive in my childhood seemed to be fulfilled by Rahul alone. He gave me time in my solitude. The humiliation and neglect I faced since childhood seemed to vanish because of him. I didn't even realize when I started loving Rahul more than myself.

In our hostel, each room had two beds. Unfortunately, Kotha was my roommate. She was the only person I could share my feelings with, and I told her almost everything. So, Kotha knew very well that I loved Rahul.

I had planned to confess my love to Rahul on his birthday. Kotha was fully aware of my plan. However, just before I could propose to Rahul, Kotha confessed her love to him—and Rahul gladly accepted it. In a single moment, my dreams were shattered. How could Kotha betray me like this? That very day, I decided to take revenge for all of Kotha's betrayals. No more! The time had come to put an end to Kotha.

Lost in these old memories, morning arrived. But the weather remained unchanged. The events of the night had left me feeling unwell, so I decided to get some sleep. The Fajr prayer call had just started. I went to bed.

"An old house. Covered in cobwebs. A grotesque black crow. A human skull. Blood. A doll pierced with countless needles. Beside it, a corpse. Kotha's corpse. Yes, it was Kotha. Suddenly, the corpse rose and lunged toward me."

I woke up from this terrifying dream, trembling. I had never experienced such a horrifying nightmare before. After waking up, I felt paralyzed, unable to move. I realized I was experiencing sleep paralysis. But I had never felt anything like this before. I checked my temperature with a thermometer—it was 103 degrees. My body was burning with fever. I didn't even have the strength to cook or eat, so I ordered food on my phone.

The food arrived unusually quickly. The sound of the doorbell woke me up. But when I went to the door, the delivery man was nowhere to be seen. However, the food was left at the door. Although I was a bit surprised, I wasn't confused, as I had already paid for the food.

As soon as I brought the food packet inside, a foul smell filled the entire room. On top of the packet was a note. I opened the note, and it read, "Now it's my turn for revenge." I couldn't understand who had sent this note or why. When I opened the food packet, I found the severed head of a black cat inside. The stench seemed to be coming from there. Seeing the contents of the packet, I couldn't control myself and vomited until I passed out.

A few hours later, I found myself in a hospital. The doctors told me that the food delivery man had brought me there. Apparently, my apartment door was left open. After calling out to me several times without a response, he entered the room and found me unconscious. He then brought me to the hospital.

According to the delivery man, I had a blood-stained knife in my hand. After admitting me to the hospital, he called the police for investigation.

The police investigation revealed that I had allegedly gotten drunk and killed my pet cat. The police recovered five bottles of alcohol, a blood-stained knife, and the cat's corpse from the scene. Additionally, the doctors claimed that I was intoxicated and that my excessive vomiting was due to drinking alcohol for the first time.

I was stunned by the police investigation. I hadn't even smelled alcohol in the past five years, let alone consumed it. And as for the pet cat, I had never owned one. In fact, I avoided cats altogether because I was allergic to furry animals.

However, the police did not believe me. Both the police report and the medical report were against me. As a result, the police fined me.
