Chapter 1 - chapter 1

sky above the Marvel Universe shimmered for the briefest moment, unnoticed by nearly everyone. But to those attuned to the mystic, cosmic, or chaotic, it was a blaring siren. A ripple in the tapestry of reality had just torn open—one not caused by the usual suspects like Doctor Strange, the Scarlet Witch, or even the multiverse-bending chaos of Kang.

This was something—someone—else.

Space-Time Rift, Uncharted Dimensional Zone

The crack split like lightning across an ocean of stars. Floating just beyond the physical boundaries of Earth-616, two figures stood at its edge—one in a tranquil lotus pose, glowing with divine energy, the other gripping a scepter humming with ancient power.

Chronoa, the Supreme Kai of Time, narrowed her eyes. "This universe is… unstable. Not broken, but stitched together by threads of chaos. What kind of multiverse is this?"

Her companion, CC Goku, hovered beside her. He was calm, regal, yet unbothered by the writhing turbulence of the dimensional barrier in front of them.

"I've felt stronger distortions," Goku said with a soft smile. "But this one's… loud."

Chronoa glanced at him. "Be serious, Goku. We're not just hopping timelines anymore. This isn't a variation of our own multiverse. This is alien. Wild. The laws of reality here bend to emotion, chaos magic, even… willpower."

Goku tilted his head. "So basically, fun?"

Chronoa scowled, but it was soft. Familiar. "You never change. Just… don't draw attention to yourself. The last thing we need is a cosmic entity coming after us."

"Got it. Be subtle," Goku said, cracking his knuckles with a grin that suggested the opposite.

Earth-616 – New York City

The sun was rising when the ripple struck.

Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, bolted upright in bed. Her chaos magic flared instinctively, swirling crimson around her fingers. Her heart pounded—not from a nightmare, but from a pull. A call.

Something had just entered her world. Something that felt like her—but not.

Across the Sanctum Sanctorum, Doctor Strange raised an eyebrow. "Oh no," he muttered. "This energy… it's like if a god, a time traveler, and a reality warper threw a party and forgot to clean up."

Rooftop in Lower Manhattan

The air split open with a flash of gold and violet as Goku and Chronoa emerged atop a skyscraper.

Goku took a deep breath and stretched. "Hmm… gravity's nice here. Sun feels good. And the energy—it's everywhere."

Chronoa tapped her scepter against the rooftop. "We should conceal our signatures. This universe has a habit of reacting poorly to anomalies."

But even as she said it, a swirl of red mist appeared in the sky.

Goku turned just in time to see her—her.

Floating on a current of crimson chaos was Wanda, clad in her modern sorceress garb, eyes narrowed but not hostile. She hovered before them like a force of nature—elegant, dangerous, curious.

Chronoa instantly stepped forward. "We mean no harm."

Wanda's eyes shifted between them. "You're not from here."

Goku stepped forward with a boyish grin. "Nope. I'm Goku. This is Chronoa. We kinda… fell through a crack in space-time."

Wanda's lips twitched. "That's one way to put it."

Her magic coiled behind her like a living thing, but she wasn't attacking. Something about Goku's presence—impossibly strong yet unthreatening—unsettled and intrigued her.

Chronoa glanced sideways at Goku. She could already see it. The pull between the two. Subtle but growing.

Goku, of course, noticed nothing. "So… you got cool powers too, huh?"

Wanda raised an eyebrow. "I'm the Scarlet Witch."

"That's a cool name. Wanna spar?"

Chronoa groaned. "Subtle. I said subtle."

Wanda tilted her head. "You're not like anyone I've met. You don't feel… human. Or mutant. Or even alien."

"I'm something else," Goku said simply, eyes meeting hers. "But I like your energy."

Later – Sanctum Sanctorum

"Let me get this straight," Stephen Strange said, rubbing his temple. "You're time gods from a different multiverse who fell into ours due to some quantum fissure."

Chronoa nodded. "Roughly, yes."

"And he," Strange pointed to Goku, "is a being whose power rivals cosmic entities… and his first instinct is to fight?"

Goku grinned. "Not fight. Spar. Big difference."

Wanda stood off to the side, watching. She hadn't stopped watching Goku since they met. His aura was… divine. But pure. Not like the Celestials. Not like Dormammu. Not even like the Watcher.

There was something raw, honest, even… innocent about him.

Strange looked at Chronoa. "And you? You control time?"

She nodded. "I maintain it. Protect it. But I'm not here to disrupt your timeline. We're looking for a way back. Goku just… makes things more complicated."

"Hey," Goku said, arms behind his head, "I am trying to help."

Chronoa looked at him. Her voice softened. "I know you are. Just… maybe try not to challenge every powerful being we meet?"

Wanda finally spoke. "Let him stay."

Everyone looked at her.

"I want to… understand his power," she continued. "It resonates with something inside me."

Chronoa frowned. Not with jealousy. Not yet. But concern.

She already felt it. Wanda and Goku were drawn to each other—not physically, not yet—but metaphysically. They were chaos and creation. The unpredictable and the unstoppable.

Meanwhile – Beyond Earth

In the dark void of space, something ancient stirred.

The Living Tribunal opened its unseen eyes. "A foreign presence. Unmeasured. Unweighed."

And far below, in the black temple of Mount Wundagore, Chthon twitched in his slumber.

"He bears creation's spark…" the eldritch god whispered. "And walks with the witch…"

Kamar-Taj Training Grounds

"I like this place," Goku said, watching the acolytes train. "Kind of reminds me of Whis's temple. Less food, though."

Wanda smirked. "You eat a lot?"

"Only like… six meals a day. Seven if I train hard."

She shook her head in amusement. "You're stronger than anyone I've met. Even Thor would struggle against you."

"Thor?" Goku asked. "Like the god guy?"

"He is a god."

"I've fought gods. Some were cool. Some were jerks. Wanna see a trick?"

Before she could answer, Goku raised a single hand. A soft white sphere of energy danced on his palm, humming with divine stillness. Wanda gasped—not at its power, but its feel.

It was… creation. Life. Serenity. The opposite of her chaos.

"You're…" she whispered, "made of order."

Goku smiled. "Maybe that's why I like your energy. It's wild. Alive."

Chronoa watched from the steps, arms crossed. Her eyes weren't jealous. Yet. But there was pain behind them.

She had traveled with Goku across infinite timelines. Saved worlds with him. Laughed. Fought. Cried.

But he had never looked at her the way he looked at Wanda now.

That Night – Elsewhere in New York

The sky cracked open again.

But this time, it wasn't Goku or Chronoa.

It was something darker.

A figure stepped through—cloaked in black, his presence a vacuum of light. His face was shrouded, but his voice was clear:

"The spark of the Beginning has entered this world. The Balance must not be broken."

He raised a hand, and time around him bent. "Destroy him before he reshapes it."

Behind him, a thousand shadow-beasts emerged from the void.

Next Morning – Kyoto Room, Kamar-Taj

Chronoa sat on a balcony, scepter across her lap. The wind carried whispers of chaos. She hadn't slept.

She was beginning to feel it—the divergence. This world wasn't just affecting Goku.

It was affecting her.

She looked over her shoulder to the courtyard below, where Goku and Wanda were training. Laughing. Throwing orbs of energy and chaos like fireflies.

Chronoa's chest tightened. "He's slipping away."

But even as she said it, part of her didn't want to stop it.

Because for the first time in eons… Goku looked happy.

The crimson dusk washed the sky in firelight as Goku and Wanda stood side by side.

"You're not what I expected," Wanda said quietly, her magic curling between her fingers.

"Neither are you," Goku replied honestly. "You're powerful. But… there's something painful in your heart. You're strong because you've had to be."

Wanda smiled faintly, her gaze unreadable. "And you? What are you?"

Goku looked toward the temple steps. Chronoa stood there, arms folded, watching them—not with judgment, but quiet patience.

"I'm a traveler," Goku said. "But I don't travel alone."

Wanda's eyes followed his. She saw it too.

"You care for her."

Goku nodded. "I always have. She's part of my story."

Wanda stepped closer. "Then why did you come to me?"

"I think," he said with a smile, "because I needed to see the kind of power that almost became something else. You reminded me what can happen when strength and pain mix."

Wanda took a breath, and her magic dimmed. "Then go. This world will still be here."

Moments Later – Kamar-Taj Rooftop

Chronoa turned as Goku joined her. She didn't speak. She didn't have to.

"She's strong," Chronoa said softly.

"She is," Goku replied. "But I'm not here for her."

Chronoa finally looked at him, her ancient heart skipping something it hadn't in millennia.

"Then where do we go now?"

Goku floated into the air, extending a hand to her.

"Everywhere. This Earth's got a lot of mysteries. Let's find them. Together."

Chronoa hesitated only a moment—then smiled and took his hand.

In a flash of divine light, the two vanished into the sky, leaving behind a trail of stardust… and a world that would never forget their arrival.

The winds of change howled through the vast, city-spanning streets of New York. Goku, Chronoa, and Wanda stood atop a building overlooking the bustling metropolis, the sun now sinking low and casting a fiery red glow across the horizon.

Goku's fists were clenched. He could feel it—the power gathering in the city like a storm. "You sense that?" he asked Chronoa, his tone a mix of excitement and caution.

"I do," Chronoa said, her gaze narrowed in concentration. "It's like a pressure—a cosmic disturbance. But more personal. Almost… emotional."

Wanda stood beside them, her crimson magic sparking around her hands. She could feel it too. "Whatever it is," she said, "it's coming from the X-Men's mansion."

Chronoa's expression shifted, her divine sense recognizing the familiar signature of mutant energy. "We should investigate. Perhaps they're in trouble."

Goku flashed her a grin. "Trouble? You know me. I'm always up for some action."

Minutes Later – X-Men Mansion, Westchester

The mansion stood in eerie silence, a rare moment of peace broken only by the faintest rumbling in the distance. Inside, the X-Men were preparing for an all-out battle.

"Something's wrong," Cyclops muttered, his ruby visor scanning the approaching storm outside. "We've got multiple threats on the radar."

Storm stood beside him, her eyes scanning the skies. "It's not just a storm, Scott. It's a tornado—but it's made of people. Strong ones."

Jean Grey, her brow furrowed, added, "I can feel them… a powerful presence, several powerful signatures. They're coming for us."

At that moment, the ground shook beneath them, and a deep, guttural laugh echoed from the distance.

A massive figure emerged from the shadows—Exodus, a powerful mutant telekinetic and leader of the mutant extremist group known as the Acolytes. Behind him, a brutal force of villains trailed: Mister Sinister, Omega Red, and Sabretooth. Together, they were a lethal combination—united by a shared hatred for the X-Men and their ideals.

Jean Grey, her telepathic senses flashing, looked to Scott. "They're after something. They want to draw us out—make a statement."

"Then let's give them one back," Cyclops said, his voice hard as steel.

Outside the Mansion

Suddenly, the air shimmered and split apart in a brilliant flash of light. Goku and Chronoa emerged, floating above the X-Men's front lawn, with Wanda landing beside them in a graceful arc, her eyes flashing with determination.

Jean was the first to react, her senses immediately honed in on the trio. "Who are you?" she called, her telekinesis ready.

Goku waved cheerfully. "Hey there! I'm Goku. This is Chronoa, and this is Wanda." He pointed to each in turn. "We're here to help."

Cyclops raised an eyebrow, his visor glowing as he scanned them. "Help? What kind of help?"

Chronoa stepped forward, her voice calm but firm. "We felt the disturbance. We're not enemies. We're just here to make sure these 'villains' don't get any funny ideas."

Wanda's crimson magic swirled around her hands, glowing brighter as she added, "And they might not be prepared for what we can do."

Exodus, standing with his arms crossed, sneered. "Another group of strangers thinking they can stop us? Foolish."

"I like them already," Goku said, his eyes gleaming with the thrill of battle. "Let's give them a warm welcome."

The Battle

Without warning, the villains struck.

Sabretooth lunged first, his claws slashing toward Goku. But Goku was already gone—vanishing and reappearing behind him, delivering a quick blow that sent Sabretooth flying through several trees.

"Nice try, but you're not fast enough!" Goku laughed.

Meanwhile, Mister Sinister, sensing the shift in the battle, raised his hand. A barrier of psychic energy surrounded him as he manipulated the battlefield, throwing up walls of force to keep the X-Men contained.

Chronoa didn't hesitate. Her scepter shimmered with divine light as she extended her hand. In a flash, time around Sinister slowed, his own barriers twisting under the pressure of Chronoa's manipulation of time.

"You're not controlling this fight, Sinister," Chronoa said, her voice firm.

Wanda, eyes glowing with chaos magic, raised both hands. "Let's see how you handle this," she murmured.

She unleashed a burst of crimson energy, ripping through Sinister's shields like paper, sending him sprawling to the ground with a screech of pain.

Omega Red grinned, his metallic tentacles swinging toward Wanda. He was fast—almost too fast—but Wanda's magic swirled and twisted around her, forming a shield of chaos energy that blocked his attack. The force sent Omega Red skidding back across the lawn.

"Impressive," Wanda said coolly, a glimmer of satisfaction in her voice.

But the villains weren't finished. Exodus raised his arms high, and a psychic blast erupted from his hands, ripping into the ground beneath them, sending the X-Men sprawling.

Chronoa's eyes flickered with a divine light. "This ends now."

With a flick of her scepter, she reversed time around Exodus, briefly undoing his attack. For a split second, he froze, confused as his own movements were undone, leaving him open.

Goku seized the opportunity. With a flash of speed, he appeared in front of Exodus and delivered a devastating punch to his gut, sending him crashing into the earth. The force of the blow cracked the ground beneath him.

Cyclops, seeing the opening, shouted, "Now! Everyone, attack!"

The X-Men, now reinvigorated by their mysterious allies' strength, fought back. Jean Grey used her telekinesis to lift and throw Sabretooth into a nearby building. Storm summoned a lightning storm, striking Omega Red with powerful bolts of electricity. And Wolverine, claws extended, engaged Sabretooth in a brutal one-on-one fight, both beasts locked in their age-old rivalry.

Aftermath

As the battle subsided, the villains lay defeated or retreating. Mister Sinister, struggling to get back to his feet, glared at the group. "This isn't over," he snarled before vanishing into the shadows with his remaining forces.

Goku wiped his brow and grinned. "That was fun! Need a snack after that one."

Chronoa sighed, crossing her arms. "You never change."

Wanda, standing a little apart from the others, watched Goku and Chronoa. There was a warmth in her chest—an unexpected connection, something she hadn't anticipated when she decided to leave her old life behind.

Jean approached them cautiously, her expression still wary but appreciative. "You… you're incredible."

Goku grinned. "We try. We're just here to help. You guys look like you could use some backup."

Cyclops, still suspicious but thankful, added, "You have our thanks. We don't get many who can take on the likes of Sinister and Exodus."

Wanda took a step forward, her voice low. "I wasn't just helping because I could. I… needed something. A reason."

She looked at Goku and Chronoa, who both met her gaze with understanding. "I'm not just running from my past anymore. I think I belong with you."

Chronoa's eyes softened as she nodded. "You are welcome to join us. This world is full of surprises, and sometimes, it's better to face them together."

Wanda's lips curved into a small, knowing smile. "Then, I'm in."

Later – The Sky Above Earth-616

As the trio of Goku, Chronoa, and Wanda flew high above the X-Men's mansion, the world stretched out before them, vast and full of uncertainty. But they weren't alone anymore. They had found something more than just power—they had found a connection.

Goku looked at Chronoa, his heart full. "This is gonna be fun, right?"

Chronoa smiled, her eyes warm. "Let's find out, Goku. Together."

And behind them, Wanda's crimson energy swirled in the air—powerful, unpredictable, but somehow steady in its own right.

The adventure had just begun.

X-Men Mansion, Nightfall

After the intense battle with the villains, the X-Men's mansion stood under the quiet glow of the setting sun. With the danger passed, the team had invited Goku, Chronoa, and Wanda to stay in the mansion while they recuperated and gathered more information about the mysterious group of enemies that had attacked.

Goku, ever eager to explore, was more than willing to stay. He'd heard so much about the X-Men during his brief time with them, and their powers intrigued him. Wanda, on the other hand, felt a strange pull—she was beginning to enjoy the camaraderie, the feeling of not being alone in her struggles. Chronoa had agreed, sensing the importance of remaining with the team for the time being.

After a quick discussion, they were shown to their rooms.

"Alright, we've got three rooms for you," Cyclops said, gesturing toward the long hallway. "This one's for you, Chronoa," he pointed to a room at the end of the corridor. "And, Goku, this one's next to hers. Wanda, we've prepared one for you across the hall."

Goku raised an eyebrow, clearly puzzled. "Wait, we all get our own rooms? What about—"

Chronoa, who had already caught onto Goku's unspoken question, smiled knowingly. "Don't worry, Goku. We'll be fine."

Goku scratched his head. "Oh, okay. Well, that's cool. But… if you want, I can sleep with you, Chronoa. You know, in the same room, just different beds! Not like the same bed, no-no, but—"

Everyone froze.

Jean Grey blinked, her brow furrowing. Storm stifled a laugh, her eyes twinkling. Cyclops's visor dimmed slightly, his face unreadable. Wolverine smirked, arms crossed, clearly amused by the misunderstanding that was quickly brewing.

Wanda's face tightened. The corners of her mouth twitched as her hands unconsciously clenched into fists. Her mind raced—what exactly had Goku just said? Was he really that naïve, or was he…?

"Goku, you mean you'll be staying in the same room, but in different beds, right?" Jean asked, her tone overly polite but her voice carrying the edge of a question.

"Yeah! That's what I meant!" Goku said, oblivious to the tension. "I mean, we're like travel buddies, right? I don't mind if we share a room. I just don't want to crowd you."

Everyone around him looked uncertain, and Wanda's eyes narrowed.

"You mean you don't mind if you sleep in the same room?" Cyclops asked carefully, still not entirely sure he understood what Goku was implying. "But you're not going to, uh… sleep in the same bed?"

"No! Of course not!" Goku laughed, a little too loudly. "It'd be way too cramped."

Wanda, unable to contain the surge of jealousy and confusion, crossed her arms. "So, Goku," she began, her voice a little sharp, "you'll just… be in a room together. But, not in the same bed." Her words were measured, but her tone held a subtle edge. She forced a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "I see."

Goku's confusion deepened. "Uh, yeah? Is that weird?"

The air in the hallway felt thick. Jean's eyes darted between Chronoa and Wanda, sensing the growing tension. Storm gave a quiet chuckle, though she quickly masked it with a cough.

Chronoa, ever the calming presence, stepped forward. "I'm sure Wanda is just teasing, Goku. She doesn't mind, right?" she said, her voice light, trying to smooth things over.

Wanda forced a smile, though her gaze was still sharp. "No, of course not. It's just… funny how Goku always says things like that without thinking."

"Oh, that's just how he is," Chronoa said, her smile gentle but her eyes hinting at something more. "But we're all adults here, right?"

Wanda's fingers twitched, her thoughts swirling. It was clear now—Chronoa and Goku were close. Maybe closer than she'd initially thought. And though Wanda had offered to join them, to fight alongside them, she was starting to wonder where she truly stood in this strange new dynamic.

Later that Evening – Dinner in the Mansion's Dining Room

Dinner was a rather awkward affair, the air still heavy with the strange miscommunication that had unfolded earlier. Goku, in his usual carefree fashion, happily chatted with the X-Men, laughing and talking about everything from martial arts to the food he had grown up with. Wanda, though, barely touched her food. Her mind kept drifting to earlier, to the idea of Goku and Chronoa in the same room, however innocent the setup was.

Chronoa, as usual, was serene, but there was something in her expression that hinted at deeper understanding—something she was keeping to herself for the moment. She noticed Wanda's unease, but didn't press.

Across the table, Cyclops raised an eyebrow at the exchange between the three of them. He wasn't the most perceptive when it came to emotional dynamics, but even he couldn't miss the underlying tension. He glanced at Jean, who subtly shrugged in response.

The conversation turned to a more practical topic—training sessions, as the X-Men felt it would be wise to integrate Goku, Chronoa, and Wanda into the team's combat drills. They had just defeated a high-level threat, but the X-Men were always ready for the next one.

Wanda's attention wavered, her thoughts swirling as she poked at her food. The table was bustling with conversation, but the distance between her and the others felt palpable.

Finally, after the dinner had wound down, and everyone had begun to disperse to their rooms, Wanda found herself walking alone down the hallway. Her thoughts were a tangled mess, her emotions mixed and confused. She hadn't expected to feel so… displaced. So jealous, even.

As she passed Goku's room, she heard him laughing, talking to Chronoa inside. Wanda couldn't help herself. She stopped at the door and, for a moment, just stood there, listening. Her fingers twitched, and she couldn't keep the thoughts from swirling in her head.

Was this jealousy? She had never really experienced it before—not in the way she was feeling now. She had always been alone, after all. But this was different. Goku was so innocent, so naïve in his own way, and yet, Chronoa's closeness to him was unmistakable.

What was she to them?

She shook her head, taking a deep breath. There was no reason to overthink things. She could handle it. But for some reason, standing in the hallway, listening to the two of them, something inside her stirred. Something she didn't want to acknowledge.

As she turned to head toward her own room, she couldn't help but wonder what tomorrow would bring.

Xavier Institute – Early Morning

The sun had barely risen when Storm, Jean Grey, and Wanda gathered near the hallway leading to the guest rooms. It had been a long night, and after the previous day's battle and strange conversations, the mansion had mostly fallen quiet—until now.

"AHHHH—wait, Goku! It's too much!"

"Hang in there! I'll be gentle!"

"No—no, stop moving it like that!"

Then came a sharp moan, followed by a softer gasp.

Dead silence fell in the hallway.

Jean froze, eyes wide. "Um… did you hear that?"

Storm raised an eyebrow, cheeks tinged slightly pink. "Was that…?"

Wanda stared at the door to Goku and Chronoa's room, her hands slowly curling into fists. "Oh, they have to be joking," she said, her voice cold.

Another muffled cry echoed through the door.

"Please, Goku, that's too deep—into the muscle! It's sensitive!"

Wanda's face flushed red. "Okay, that's it. I'm going back to my room."

Jean grabbed her arm. "Wait—maybe we should… knock?"

Storm crossed her arms. "Or leave them alone. If it is what it sounds like, I'm not getting involved."

Wanda didn't say another word. She simply turned and stormed down the hall, her energy crackling faintly behind her. Jean gave Storm a look. "We probably shouldn't assume things…"

Storm nodded. "We'll check in later. Maybe… after they're done."

Inside Goku and Chronoa's Room

Chronoa lay on the bed, her ankle propped up with a pillow. Her face was flushed—not from embarrassment, but from the intensity of the pain.

"Okay, I think that's most of the swelling," Goku said, placing two fingers gently on her ankle. A soft glow of golden ki surrounded his hands, seeping into the joint with healing warmth. "Sorry, I didn't think the stretch would hurt that much."

Chronoa gritted her teeth, trying not to moan again. "It's not your fault. It was that last flip kick I tried while time-skipping. Landed wrong."

Goku nodded solemnly. "Yeah, that Sinister guy was tough. But hey, you're healing fast."

Chronoa managed a small smile. "Thanks to you. But you really could've toned it down on the pressure points."

Goku scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "Heh. Sorry. I was just trying to fix the knot in your muscle. Didn't mean to… make you scream."

Chronoa gave him a deadpan look. "You really need to learn how things sound to other people."

"I do?" Goku asked, genuinely confused.

Chronoa groaned—half in pain, half in exasperation.

Elsewhere in the Mansion – The Aftermath

Wanda sat alone in the training hall, arms crossed, staring at nothing. Chaos energy flickered lightly around her fingertips. She was trying not to think about it—but the sounds, the timing, the way Goku had been so casual about sharing a room with Chronoa…

It made her stomach twist.

Was he really that clueless? Or was he just pretending?

Jean entered the room a few minutes later, looking a bit awkward. "Hey… so, uh, false alarm."

Wanda raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"Goku was just healing Chronoa's ankle. She tweaked it yesterday in the fight. That's all the noise was about."

Wanda blinked, a blush creeping onto her face. "Wait… what?"

"Yeah. She had a knot in her leg muscle, and Goku was apparently… digging into it. Like, aggressively."

Storm appeared behind Jean, smiling knowingly. "He might be the strongest being in the universe, but subtlety isn't exactly his thing."

Wanda stood slowly, smoothing her sleeves. "I wasn't… concerned."

Jean gave her a look.

"I wasn't!" Wanda insisted.

Storm smirked. "Sure you weren't."

Later That Morning – Dining Hall

Breakfast was quieter than usual. The X-Men were still unsure how to interact with the trio of cosmic newcomers. Goku, meanwhile, was scarfing down his third plate of eggs and toast, completely unbothered by the tension.

Chronoa limped slightly as she walked in, her ankle still bandaged but healing quickly thanks to Goku's energy. She gave a tired wave to the group.

Wanda didn't look at her at first.

Goku swallowed and smiled. "Hey! Morning, everyone! Chronoa's almost better now!"

Wolverine, biting into a slice of bacon, muttered under his breath, "Yeah, we heard."

Chronoa blushed slightly, but kept her cool. Wanda glanced over, and their eyes met for a second—neither one said anything, but the tension between them was clear.

Storm, ever the diplomat, clapped her hands. "Well, now that everyone's… settled, we should talk about team training."

"Yup!" Goku said, wiping his mouth. "Let's get stronger together! That's what friends do, right?"

Chronoa gave him a look.

Wanda smiled faintly—but the fire in her chest still lingered.
