Chapter 55 - Chapter 54

After hearing Cuilan's words, Feng's face turned very dark. He didn't expect Cuilan to say it so directly.

"But it's understandable. People are always biased. My third son just got here a month or two ago. Of course, he can't compare to this Jun."

After she finished talking, Cuilan stepped forward and stood in front of Danni. "Girl, do you know how I taught my Sienna?"

Slap slap—she gave two hard slaps.

"I told her, if someone bullies you, just hit back. Once they're scared of you, they'll shut up. I'm just curious now—do you like my third son and want to cheat on your man?"

"Tell me, what good does it do you to ruin Sienna's name like that?"

Now they all understood—this whole family isn't easy to mess with. Just looking at how protective Cuilan was, you'd think Sienna was her real daughter, not daughter-in-law.

Danni's face burned from the pain, and she suddenly lost control. She reached out to hit back. "You crazy old woman! What nonsense are you saying? My relationship with my man is just fine!"

Just as Danni was about to hit Cuilan, Liwen stepped up and pushed her away. "Mom, are you okay?"

"I'm fine. She wants to fight me? Dream on."

Once he made sure his mother was okay, Liwen turned to Danni. "Touch my mom and see what happens. I'm warning you—I don't care if you're a man or a woman. If you lay a hand on someone from the Zhou Family, I'll fight back."

Leader Lu looked at the situation and said, "Everyone, go home. Jun, take your wife and leave. When Comrade Sienna returns, she deserves an apology."

"Yes."

Then he spoke to Rowan. "Rowan, take Auntie home to rest. You've all had a long journey."

"Yes."

Felix also stepped forward. "Auntie, it's been a tiring trip."

"Felix, how have you been lately?"

"Auntie, I've been doing well."

Rowan stepped up to grab the luggage. "Mom, let's go home."

"Alright, let's go."

Felix quickly took the bag from Cuilan. "Auntie, I'll carry this. Just follow along."

"Ah, such a good kid."

Soon, they got home. Rowan unlocked the door. Cuilan saw the lock was on the outside and asked, "Rowan, where's Sienna? Is she out training again?"

"Yeah..."

"What's wrong with you? You're a soldier yourself. Don't you know how to train your own team? You let Sienna go out again. What kind of karma did she have to marry someone like you?"

Rowan didn't say anything. He was scared she might beat him right there.

"When will Sienna be back?"

Rowan stayed quiet. He wanted to know too. Felix put down the luggage and happened to hear the question. He said, "Auntie, Sienna went on a mission. There's no set return date."

Rowan wanted to cover Felix's mouth. He didn't understand why he had to speak up.

Liwen quickly stepped back, keeping his distance from Rowan. Cuilan turned to Felix, thinking she must've heard wrong. She asked again, "Felix, what did you say? Auntie didn't hear clearly."

Now Felix realized something was wrong. Rowan's face looked like he wanted to eat him alive. Liwen had already run far away.

"Ah... Auntie, I didn't say anything. You must've misheard."

Cuilan looked straight at Rowan. "Rowan, you say it."

Rowan: Sienna, come back fast... help me.

"Mom, maybe you want to lie down and rest a bit? You've had a tiring trip."

"Rowan, where is Sienna? I asked you a question."

There was no escape now. Rowan finally said, "She went on a mission. It's been a week."

"Alright. Very good."

Cuilan saw a broom nearby, picked it up, and started hitting Rowan with it.

"You tell me, which one of you is really the soldier here? If you can't take care of Sienna, just send her back to us. You know she was hurt before and her mind isn't right, yet you let her go on a mission."

Felix wanted to step forward to stop her, but Liwen pulled him back. "Don't go. My mom doesn't recognize anyone right now, except maybe her daughter-in-law."

"Say something! You stayed home while your wife went on a mission. What were you thinking? Are you an idiot, letting your wife take such a risk?"

Cuilan kept hitting him while shouting angrily. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became, until she fainted on the spot.

Rowan quickly caught her. Liwen and Felix also rushed over. "Mom! Auntie!"

Rowan picked her up and ran to the medical room. "Doctor! Doctor!"

"What happened?"

"Please check on my mom. She just passed out!"

"Put her on the hospital bed quickly."

After checking her, the doctor said, "She got too emotional. It's not serious. Let her rest for a while, but try not to upset her like this again."

"Okay."

Felix came over and felt guilty after hearing what the doctor said. It was all his fault. If he hadn't spoken carelessly, this wouldn't have happened.

Liwen came after them and asked, "Rowan, is Mom alright?"

"She's fine. She just needs to rest. She got too upset."

"That's good, that's good."

Soon, Cuilan woke up. When she saw Rowan, she was still angry. "When Sienna comes back, I'm taking her home with me. Your father and I can still support her."

Hearing this, Rowan didn't dare say a word, afraid she might get even more upset.

Felix quietly spoke up, "Auntie, I think there's a misunderstanding. It's not that Rowan can't support her anymore."

Cuilan looked at Felix. "Hmm?"

"Now Sienna's salary is higher than Rowan's—by a lot. Actually, Rowan is the one being supported."

Cuilan looked at Rowan in surprise. "Rowan, you're doing that badly? Then maybe you should come home too."

Liwen didn't expect that his sister-in-law was so capable.

"Mom, stop thinking like that. Sienna isn't going back with you."

"When he quits the army, she'll go back. Missions are too dangerous. She's just a young girl. Don't you worry about her?"

Of course Rowan was worried. These past few days, he hadn't been sleeping or eating well.

Liwen saw that his younger brother didn't want to quit the army, so he quickly interrupted, "Mom, let's go back. Rowan has a promising future. He can't just quit like that."

Cuilan stood up and walked back with them, ignoring all three men along the way.

After getting home, Rowan quickly started cooking, and Felix helped him. "Rowan, your position in this house isn't looking good."

Rowan looked at him. "If you don't behave, I'll tell Sienna you hit me while she was gone."

"No, don't! I was wrong!"

Before long, the food was ready. "Mom, big brother, it's time to eat."

Cuilan looked at the rich dishes and said, "Sienna is out on a mission, and you have the nerve to eat like this? Rowan, since she's the one supporting you, you should try to save more."

"And also, take better care of Sienna. Stop acting like a boss."

"Auntie, what if Rowan is the one supporting her?"

Cuilan put down her chopsticks and answered seriously, "That's how it should be. Felix, let me tell you something—if you want a happy and successful family, you must treat your wife well."
