Damien closed his eyes, his lashes wet, fighting back tears. Betty's brows furrowed as she watched him struggle to hold them in.
"Are you going to answer me? What happened to her?"
Emma gently lifted Betty's chin, her fingers soft against her skin. "Dear… you don't need to hide it anymore. They already know who you are."
Betty's eyes widened, blinking rapidly. "What do you mean by that?"
"Lilian told everyone," Emma whispered, guilt flooding her voice. "I'm a terrible mother. I never considered the footage could be fabricated."
"Huh…" Betty's body trembled, tears pooling in her eyes.
