Chapter 179 - Chapter 179: The Medicine Can’t Stop

Link dared to say this was definitely the most crazy banquet he had ever experienced.

Several hundred people, all crammed into one Great Hall, wildly celebrating, the noise so loud that even the flames on the surrounding candles were shaken and trembling.

Among them, John, Cedric, and the rest of the Hufflepuffs, after finally putting Link down, had their moods turn a bit low.

That was because they discovered that Dumbledore had not hung the Hufflepuff banners like he had the year before.

This was easy to understand. After all, Dumbledore had been criticized for a long time last year because of similar events.

Therefore, the kind-hearted Hufflepuffs also did not speak out to request Dumbledore to do such a thing.

Still, disappointment was inevitable.

Fortunately, Professor Sprout soon noticed this. She sat in the faculty seats and glared resentfully at Dumbledore, then raised her wand and transformed all the banners in the Great Hall into badger-shaped banners of black and yellow.

This completely delighted the little badgers.

As a result, everyone once again turned their attention to Link.

The little badgers, as if going crazy, piled up all kinds of food that appeared in front of them onto Link's table, watching him eat, then cheering after each bite.

As if only this way could they repay Link for his contributions to Hufflepuff.

Meanwhile, the students of Ravenclaw and Gryffindor were competing with each other.

After a whole semester of interaction, their relationship had not only not improved, but had become even worse than before.

It was obvious, the little eagles were much more vengeful than Link had imagined.

They had always remembered how last year they were robbed of the House Cup at the last moment, and now seeing Gryffindor encounter the same thing, they naturally had to express their satisfaction with sarcastic words.

This, of course, stirred up dissatisfaction among the little lions.

Watching the two groups exchange sarcasm, Link figured that if not for Dumbledore still being present, they'd probably already be fighting.

However, George and Fred weren't the least bit concerned about the hatred between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.

By now, they had already picked up bamboo baskets and started selling their half-baked prank tools and low-quality magical fireworks among the crowd.

It was said that their advertising slogan was, "Even Link said they're good!"

And honestly, this kind of slogan worked particularly well while Link was at the peak of his popularity, quite a few people had already bought their stuff.

The only ones on site who still remained relatively restrained were the Slytherins.

Among them, there was the cold and aloof big sister Victoria exerting pressure, and also Draco, who currently was a very gloomy and depressed figure.

Under their influence, the entire Slytherin house seemed rather lifeless.

But this situation quickly changed after Link took Emily away.

The Slytherins straightforwardly joined the Ravenclaw camp, and together started targeting Gryffindor.

The scene in the Great Hall became increasingly chaotic.

The professors seated at the faculty table all looked rather unpleasant, especially Professor McGonagall, who looked like she was about to faint from anger when she saw George and Fred acting like street vendors.

But no matter how angry they got, Dumbledore, who was sitting right at the front, still had a smiling face the whole time.

In the end, Professor McGonagall could only sweep her sleeves and leave, and right after her, Snape followed.

———

Four hours later, this banquet finally temporarily quieted down.

The students had strong stamina, but they still couldn't endure four hours of non-stop celebration, so by now, the majority were already too tired, entering intermission.

Only George and Fred remained in an extremely excited state. Of course, their stamina was largely thanks to their now heavy wallets.

At this time, Link also felt a bit tired. But seeing that the faculty seats were now completely empty, he finally forced himself to get up and walked out of the Great Hall.

Tonight, he still had one more place to go.

Slowly walking through the dark and silent corridor, Link finally pushed open that familiar stone archway door.

Inside the Potions professor's office, Snape was still sitting at his desk in the dim lighting. But unlike before, this time he was not brewing potions, but holding a thick book and reading it.

The sound of the door opening caught his attention. He glanced over, then withdrew his gaze again, and without raising his head, frowned and said, "What are you here for?"

"Today's the medicine-taking day," Link slowly walked into the office. The furnishings here were exactly the same as the last time he came, which made him feel a slight ease.

"But judging from how you look, seems like you haven't brewed my medicine."

Upon hearing this, Snape's brows furrowed even more. He glared at Link and said, "Your multiple soul disorder is already healed. No need to take medicine anymore. And don't come here again in the future."

"No no no, I think the medicine is still necessary."

Link shook his head and said, "You know, without that calming potion, I have insomnia every night."

After speaking, he sat down across from Snape on his own and smiled at Snape's face.

Ever since Snape had swept his sleeves and walked out of the infirmary last time, he had deliberately been avoiding Link, seemingly afraid of awkward encounters.

So this was the first real conversation they'd had in a while.

With Snape's prideful and awkward personality, this behavior couldn't be more normal. Therefore, Link didn't mind.

He came to visit Snape this time not just to restore their mentor-and-friend-like relationship, but more importantly to continue taking the medicine.

After all, though Dumbledore and others said that Link's multiple soul disorder was cured, he himself knew the truth.

The soul that was cleared away by the Killing Curse was not Mike, but the other master personality, Little Link.

This meant that the medicine couldn't stop, or else who knew when Mike might suddenly jump out and cause him to lose control.

The look in Link's eyes as he stared at Snape was a strange one, a mix of teasing and subtle mockery.

This annoyed Snape. He felt that with Link's nasty personality, he had probably come this time just to mock what Snape had said at the infirmary door last time.

The muscles on Snape's face twitched, then he threw out a black notebook from his robe and said, "If you want to drink it, then brew it yourself! Stop bothering me!"

"Alrighty!"

Link accepted the notebook, flipped through it briefly, and then pulled a bitter face, "But the ingredients required for your calming potion are way too many, aren't they? No way, I'll still have to come to you every week! I can't gather all these on my own!"

Upon hearing this, Snape's mouth twitched again, but in the end, he still didn't manage to say any words of rejection.

Link, meanwhile, laid out all his potion-making tools in the places he usually used, then skillfully pulled out a pile of ingredients from Snape's storeroom and began working.

Snape secretly glanced at Link's focused and serious face, let out a cold snort from his nose, but the corner of his mouth lifted into a smile that was barely noticeable.
