Chapter 59 - Proportion Problems

"So it was Kumogakure after all," Kenichi muttered, watching Kakashi and Guy disappear into the distance. "But another war? Surely it won't escalate too much?"

The Third Great Ninja War had barely ended, and now Kumogakure was trying to take advantage of Konoha's weakened state. But Kenichi doubted it would turn into another Great Ninja War; otherwise, there wouldn't be a Fourth Great Ninja War later on.

"Kumogakure, huh?" Kenichi stroked his chin. War was harsh for most, but for him and Orochimaru, it was an unparalleled opportunity—a chance to acquire valuable resources.

Moreover, compared to Konoha's familiar materials, Kenichi found Kumogakure's muscular warriors far more intriguing. He was eager to study their unique physical conditioning methods.

"Theoretically, stimulating the body's cells with electricity should work," Kenichi mused, examining his hands. "It could even cause rapid muscle tremors, achieving incredible speeds."

Of course, he had no intention of creating some absurd Lightning Release: Five Fingers Vibration Technique. Though, in truth, developing such a technique wouldn't be particularly difficult if he tried.

He even considered researching the effects of electric current on...

Ahem. Kenichi shook his head. Now wasn't the time for studying Life-Enhancing Ninjutsu in the Ninja World. He couldn't expect to defeat enemies with such techniques, could he?

He was simply reminded of his Chidori training. When Kenichi grasped the volatile lightning in his hand, the intense electrical stimulation caused his hand to tremble violently, forcing him to steady it with his other hand.

Regularly stimulating his muscles with electric current might even provide a training effect. But this method would only work on the Ninja World's inhabitants. Kenichi had come to realize that the Ninja had evolved into a distinct species from ordinary humans.

After Kakashi left, Kenichi hurried toward the laboratory. If he didn't get there soon, the contents of his Sealing Scroll would deteriorate, causing serious trouble.

Kakashi doubled back midway, but found no trace of anything amiss. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling that something had been off about the place.

"Teacher's lab is still operational?" Kenichi Amamiya looked around curiously. The laboratory was hidden in the mountains, nestled beneath a cliff face, accessible only by using Chakra to walk across the cliff.

This ensured that ordinary people couldn't stumble upon it.

Though such a situation had never occurred before, it was better to be safe than sorry. If it ever did happen, it would be a huge hassle, so maintaining secrecy was paramount.

Compared to the frequently maintained labs he was used to, this one felt deserted. There wasn't a soul in sight, and most of the equipment was dormant.

Fortunately, while other things were scarce in the Ninja World, electricity was readily available. After starting the fuel-powered generator, the base sprang back to life.

"It still feels so out of place," Kenichi muttered, scratching his head as he stared at the generator. The longer he stayed in this world, the stranger its science and technology seemed.

After all, this world resembled a medieval city, yet it had electricity and engines. Even impoverished nations like the Land of Waves possessed fishing boats powered by engines.

Electricity had become deeply integrated into daily life, with power poles visible along the streets. Naturally, the base couldn't connect to the external power grid, relying instead on its own generators.

Once the power was restored, Kenichi hurriedly retrieved the contents of his Sealing Scroll and placed them in specialized experimental equipment to prevent any accidents.

Despite these precautions, Kenichi discovered that some bacteria in the petri dishes had died.

"Damn it, weren't you all so cocky inside human bodies?" Kenichi couldn't help but grumble.

Good grief! Inside the body, they fought against Chakra, battled the immune system, and even defied drugs and antibiotics. Yet, they died so quickly after being exposed to the outside world.

Staring at the dead bacteria, Kenichi suddenly had a peculiar idea. He wondered if he could imbue these microorganisms with Chakra and observe the consequences.

What would happen to the Ninja World if bacteria could master Chakra and refine it themselves?

A bacterial revolution in the Ninja World? A crisis of the living dead? It might even lead to a Zombie Naruto Universe.

But Kenichi had other research projects on his plate, so he could only jot this idea down in his notebook for now.

"I can't keep experimenting in the lab," Kenichi muttered. "If Teacher finds out, he'll probably kill me." He carefully retrieved the raw materials for the thermobaric explosive, planning to run a few more tests.

This time, he wouldn't add any Chakra. He wanted to first optimize the material ratios to find the most potent formula. Once he had a stable thermobaric explosive, he could gradually adapt it to Chakra.

Of course, these experiments couldn't be conducted in the lab. Kenichi didn't have the resources to waste. Instead, he decided to mix the materials in the lab, meticulously record each ratio, label them, and then take them outside to detonate and measure their destructive power.

As for making a thermobaric bomb every time?

Kenichi had considered it, but the difficulty in procuring the raw materials led him to abandon the idea. He decided to wait until he had finalized the thermobaric explosive formula before tackling that challenge.

This step proved to be meticulous and time-consuming. Even a one-gram difference in the ingredients could drastically alter the outcome.

To manage this, Kenichi kept a dedicated notebook to record each material ratio, hoping for unexpected discoveries along the way.

Meanwhile, in the Land of Rain, Orochimaru personally experienced the power of the Rinnegan. The utterly illogical Almighty Push left him with an eager glint in his eyes.

The power of the Sage's Eye! Orochimaru resolved to claim Akatsuki for himself.

Nagato watched Orochimaru below, inwardly irritated. What's wrong with these two? Are they both insane? This one even wanted to test his abilities right away.

"Orochimaru, don't forget your mission," Nagato reminded him. Akatsuki desperately needed funds.
