Chapter 9 - I Use Rock as Well!

Seeing that the dent appears to change compared to what he remembered, Azrael's face immediately beamed with a hopeful smile as his grip on his sword becomes even firmer, his heart racing quite a bit not from the pressure of facing against this humongous golem but rather due to the fact that once again, he starts seeing a light at the end of the dark tunnel that is being stuck in the Ethereal Tower's first floor just one day short of a decade.

'It shouldn't be the tower toying with me again, isn't it?' as he once again observes the dent on what is supposed to be the face of the humanoid golem, the young man thought to himself, quite paranoid after all the things he had experienced all this years, yet despite all the worry, he still decided to take a risk since the worst thing that could happen to him is being beaten to a complete pulp and experiencing hellish pain.

In comparison to that, this meager chance of breaking through this rut that plagued him for almost ten years is an opportunity that he just couldn't pass up on, after all, despite already getting used to the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the first floor, he still has his own desire of ascending higher floors of the tower.

"Let's risk it, nothing ventured nothing gained" he mutters to himself as he looks up, his eyes focused on the golem's head, intending to reach it in one swift motion as he bent his knees and tighten his lower body, preparing to explode in force and jump to cross the meters of gap between him and the golem's head, this plan seemingly about to go awry as his opponent already figured out where he is hiding right now.

Seeing a large stone palm heading towards his direction, Azrael immediately change his stance as he relaxed all of a sudden, knowing that the moment this golem figured out his location, he wouldn't be able to cross that distance in a single jump, hence he starts going for the second-best chance, to move as agile as he can going upwards by running around the golem's body.

A good thing for him as it is something that he's already used to given how much opportunity he has to fight against this creature, his reaction to the hand clearly aiming to squash him calm as he swiftly moves away from its path, immediately leaping up as it passes beyond his previously location, his feet landing perfectly on the golem's forearms.

Meanwhile, feeling like it hadn't captured the little creature hiding underneath it, the golem pulled its arm back as it knew that the little creature shouldn't be going away, both its arms now prepared to launch another attack the moment it managed to find out the location of its opponent once again.

Meanwhile, watching the golem observe both its arms, Azrael calms his breathing ragged from the excitement as he masterfully hides on a blind spot, hanging underneath the golem's elbow making sure that it wouldn't find him out, even making sure that it doesn't have a line of sight on him as despite the fact that this golem doesn't have any facial features, he had always felt like it has its own sight.

Now a bit confused as it didn't know where its opponent goes, the golem assumes that the little creature has already given up for today and just try again tomorrow, meaning that for it, it will be a time to rest.

Seeing that the golem is moving closer to the treasure it is guarding, Azrael felt like his plan succeeded, this being the usual proceedings whenever he tries to damage the head of this golem, the only problem with this being the fact that he needs to act quick as the moment that he gets into close proximity of the treasure, the golem will find out his location immediately, this phenomenon appearing to be some sort of skill that the golem has given that it never fails to detect him however he sneaks himself near the treasure it is guarding.

'Now!!' after waiting for just a few more moments, the young man finally found an opportunity to hit the golem with an attack, nimbly launching his body up, in what appears to be a practiced motion, he is now standing on the golem's shoulder, and only now did this golem realizes that this little creature has yet to go home, but it is too late now.

'If there's anything fitting for the first floor aside from its footwork, I think it should only be the fact that it never learn' he thought to himself as he leaps once again, his entire body now right in front of the golem, the smile on his face carrying a bit of craziness as he dare to risk it all for this, not that he would die completely should he fail but just being in for a hell of suffering he is experiencing whenever he is pulverized by this golem is more than enough for him to wish that he could just die instead.

"Why hello there you big pile of rock, I use rock as well!! HAHAHA" as he gets into attacking distance, Azrael dumped the idea of hitting it with a sword as he realizes that there is quite a significant amount of crack on the spot that he always focuses his attack on, opting to use his fist as he knows that it would be better in terms of damaging this hard, seemingly slice and cut proof golem.

As he drives his fist into the golem's damaged part, he doesn't forget to add all his resentment that he gathered towards it all these years that it has stopped him from ascending to the second floor of the tower, his gritted teeth and reddish eyes a testament to how much suffering he had to endure in front of this opponent of his.

Now, he only has to wait whether his attack did something against this golem or not.
