Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: So… Do You Still Want to Drink Again Someday?

"Bestie~!" As soon as Milim saw Rimuru, she launched herself forward and hugged him tightly. Ramiris fluttered over and landed right on Rimuru's shoulder.

"How could you sneak out here without taking us along?!" Milim pouted from within Rimuru's arms. "We're the strongest team in the whole canyon, remember?!"

In the virtual battlegrounds, there were many game modes, but their favorite was the classic 5v5—something like League of Legends. But unlike the game, they entered physically. Rimuru, Milim, Ramiris, Veldora, and Diablo—these five, armed with Rimuru's broken "Wisdom King" abilities—had formed an unstoppable squad in the Rift.

"Alright, alright!" Rimuru gently pushed Milim away. "Aren't you here now? So stop sulking."

"Rimuru, is this the new world you mentioned?" Ramiris asked curiously.

"This is the world of One Piece," Rimuru explained. "But let me say this up front—no causing trouble!"

"Relax!" Milim thumped her chest with pride. "I swear on my title as Demon Lord!"

Rimuru looked at her, completely deadpan. If I believed you, I might as well rename my skill from Wisdom King to Idiot King.

[Voice prompt: "Shall I change the name of your ability?"]

—I'm kidding, okay?!

"One Piece?" Ramiris tilted her head. "Is that another Demon Lord's name?"

"No, no," Rimuru said, chuckling a bit. "Think of it as the King of the Seas. It's the ultimate title for pirates in this world. The guy who has it now is kind of a big deal. I'm planning to go meet him—want to come along?"

"Of course!" Milim's eyes lit up with excitement.

"Mhm!" Ramiris also nodded eagerly.

"Then let's go!" Rimuru had already pinpointed the location of the prison. He took off into the air with both of them, casting invisibility magic over them as he did.

This wasn't just regular invisibility—his spell could hide their presence entirely: no sound, no scent, no aura, no trace whatsoever. Even if they were to stand right in front of an Admiral, they wouldn't be noticed.

Below them, thousands of Marines patrolled the area. Rear Admirals and Vice Admirals were positioned around the perimeter. Admirals stood on guard, eyes sharp and alert. It was clear just how seriously the World Government was taking the public execution of Gol D. Roger.

But no matter how thoroughly they secured the area, they never accounted for the arrival of Demon Lords from another world—and three of them, no less. Honestly, even if they were discovered, the three could easily steamroll their way through and still reach Roger. It wouldn't even be close.

Rimuru flew in front, with Milim and Ramiris tailing behind, looking around like a pair of overly curious tourists. They showed zero concern about being caught. Really, it was the Navy that should've been worried—if things got ugly, they'd be the ones in trouble.

Soon, a massive prison built entirely out of dense Seastone came into view. Inside, locked up behind thick bars, was a big-bearded man in a red captain's coat.

The Pirate King—Gol D. Roger.

The moment the trio entered the prison, Roger chuckled.

"Well, well. Didn't expect to have visitors here at the end of my road. Hmm?" His eyes sharpened. "Two kids… no, three visitors. Two youngsters and one… flying little person?"

"Little person?!" Ramiris yelled furiously, flapping her wings. "I'm not some tiny species—I'm a Fairy Queen! Get it right!"

"Rimuru, he noticed us?" Milim blinked, clearly surprised. "How?! I thought your magic was undetectable!"

Clap clap… Rimuru applauded with a grin. "As expected of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. So this is… the Voice of All Things, huh?"

"The what-now?" Milim scratched her head, baffled.

"Ah," Roger admitted casually. "The air itself whispered your presence to me. Still, I'm impressed. Now then—who exactly are you people? And just so we're clear, I'm not spilling any secrets about Laugh Tale!"

"Laugh-what-now?" Milim blinked again, puzzled. "Bestie, what's that?"

Before Rimuru could respond, Roger beat him to it.

"That's where the world's greatest treasure lies! Whoever gets it… owns the world!"

Ding! Stars practically exploded in Milim and Ramiris's eyes.

"Treasure?!"

Being a Dragonoid, Milim's idea of treasure was anything shiny or edible—and she had an obsession for both. Ramiris, on the other hand, simply loved the thrill of adventure and hunting for rare trinkets.

Rimuru, watching their reactions, silently brought a hand to his forehead. Here we go again…

"I'm Rimuru," he introduced himself. "These two are Milim and Ramiris. We came here to meet the legendary Pirate King. Oh, and we brought you something too."

He extended his hand toward the cell—and with a flick of his wrist, a massive sake barrel materialized out of thin air inside.

"Oh?" Roger's eyes sparkled with surprise. "What kind of Devil Fruit ability is this? Space? Storage-type?"

Rimuru shook his head. "Not a Devil Fruit. It's my natural skill."

"That's space storage!" Milim piped up, seeing Roger's look of disbelief. "You call yourself a Pirate King and you don't know basic stuff like this?!"

"..." Roger was speechless. How the hell would I know?

But in the next moment, his expression changed slightly. Not a Devil Fruit…?

"This is from Whitebeard," Rimuru said, stepping closer. "He asked me to deliver it."

"…He still remembers?" Roger went silent for a moment. Then, laughing heartily, he hoisted the barrel with one hand and took a massive gulp. "Ahhh… East Blue sake really is the best!"

Rimuru gave him a calm look and asked, "So… do you still want to drink again someday?"

Roger froze.

"…What do you mean by that?"
