Chapter 4 - The Club. (REWRITTEN)

Lang Jin got himself a shirt, Akeno magic-ed it out of thin air, and then the two made it back to Kuoh Academy, they went straight to the clubhouse or room, whatever it is called.

"Nice place you guys have here." Lang Jin complimented as he observed the building with his keen eyes.

"Why thank you, it looks much better inside, the club president liked the aesthetic and kept it like this."

"I agree, the vibe really fits the whole 'occult' thing... kind of creepy... in a good way." He fucking sucks, at giving compliments doesn't he?

Akeno raised an eyebrow at that, but didn't comment on it.

The two went inside, and as Himejima said, the inside was looking pretty good, very clean and well maintained.

The two went upstairs, and down the hallway and through the door.

Inside the room, there were two couches, a table and a desk and there sat a beautiful red-haired girl, Rias Gremory.

'I've to admit, she definitely has taste.' Lang Jin thought as he looked around.

"Good evening, what brings you here Lang Jin?" Rias questioned as she looked up at him.

"Himejima will explain better than me, I hope." Jin turned to the black-haired girl standing next to him.

"It appears that Jin here, knows about 'this world'. He dispatched the stray devil you sent me to take care of."

"Oh? Talk about timing, Souna and I had our suspicions about you and just when we were convinced that you weren't aware... this happens." Rias spoke, while crossing her arms.

"... I didn't want to get involved with you guys at first, but after thinking about it... I decided to join this side."

"I see, and which faction do you belong to?" Rias questioned, her tone turning serious.

"Hmmm... none really, my adoptive father and my uncle were fallen angels, but I didn't really join the Grigori at the time, as I said before... I didn't really want to."

"...The Grigori, huh?" Rias muttered to herself, looking down.

"...Do you by any chance, know someone by the name of... Baraqiel?" Himejima questioned, her tone reflecting anger, and sorrow.

"...I'm afraid not, I only know my father and uncle, aside from those two I don't have much contact with the other members of the Grigori." Jin explained.

"Still, Jin I'm afraid we'll have to put you under surveillance, I hope you understand that right now, Devils and Fallens aren't really on the best of terms."

"I understand... and I'll make this easier for you, allow me to join The Occult club. This doesn't mean your peerage, by the way. I'd like to remain human." Jin spoke, crossing his arms.

Rias glanced at Akeno, who nodded

"Alright, Jin. You're welcome to stay in Kuoh, as long as you don't cause trouble, and you're welcome to The Club, go talk to Souna after this. But... before you do that, I'm curious, are you really just... a human?" Rias questioned tilting her head,

"Alright, and yes I'm human as far as I know, I'm just abnormally strong."

Rias put her hand on her chin, thinking about something. "Then... what about your sudden growth spurts? As far as I'm concerned, not many... Hang on, are you doping by any chance?"

Akeno put a hand on her mouth, holding in a giggle, Completely thrown off by Rias's sudden question.

Jin's expression froze for a second, before he chuckled. "What? No, where'd you get that Idea from?"

Rias quickly got up and approached Jin, before circling around him and observing him very closely.

Jin raised an eyebrow at her actions but left her be. After Rias was done with her inspection, she stood in front of Jin, looking up to meet his eyes.

"Then... how'd you explain your growth? You got taller, more muscular and everything all at once!"

"Don't really know, that's a question my father and uncle had as well, but couldn't really figure it out, so we just gave up."

"Ah, okay. I'm done with my questions, you're free to go now."

"Alright, I'll come hang around then, see you tomorrow."

Now there were only Akeno and Rias left in the room, Akeno stood there silently, looking at the door.

"What is it Akeno?"

"…Nothing, he's... an interesting person." Akeno said, holding her chin looking at the door.

"Really? He's the one who caught your eye?"

"I wouldn't go that far just yet." still looking at the door.

Rias smirked as she watched her queen it was the first time she's ever shown interest in the opposite gender, and Rias enjoyed watching her like that.

Abruptly her smirk faded, someone seemed to be calling out to her, someone who desperately wanted to be saved, she heard the young man's wish loud and clear.

She disappeared under the magic circle, Akeno's face changed to that of concern, she didn't have to wait long as her friend came back with a smile on her face.

"I found a new member."

He went back into school, and found the student council room after some searching, he took a deep breath and knocked

"Come in." He heard a female voice, no doubt belonging to Souna.

"Pardon the intrusion." Lang Jin said, squeezing himself through the door. "... A bigger door, could be nice y'know?"

Souna was writing something, probably homework, but she still managed to answer Lang jin, without even stopping.

Souna smirked, "Loosing some of that muscle could do you some good, y'know?"

"Not going to happen." Lang Jin said firmly, while sitting on the couch that was in the room.

"...Nice place." Lang Jin said, while looking around.

"I'm glad to hear that, me and Tsubaki worked very hard on it." Souna said, while putting her pen down and getting up to sit right in front of Lang Jin.

"Where's Tsubaki anyway? She's almost always with you."

"At home, she's done with her work." Sona answered.

"...Workaholics, glad I'm not in the student council." Lang Jin sighed, rubbing his forehead.

"Anyways, I'm here to inform you, that I've decided to join the Occult Research club thing." Lang jin answered.

"...I see, may I ask why you joined that specific club?" Souna leaned forward on her desk, her eyes narrowed.

"No real reason, the atmosphere was relaxing... amongst other things." Lang Jin brushed off the question, before freezing. "Oh, that's what you meant..."

"Sona Sitri, Heiress to the noble Sitri House, a pleasure to finally use your real name." Lang Jin offered his hand for a handshake, while smirking.

Sona's eyes widened slightly, before a smirk crawled up her face as well, she shook Lang Jin's hand.

"So my suspicions were correct... you're aware of This Side, and seem to know quite a lot..." Sona spoke, while muttering the last part to herself.

"Correct, I wasn't very interested in getting involved, but I changed my mind." Lang Jin explained.

"So? Did you become Rias's brand new rook?" Sona asked curiously.

"No, I'm not a part of her peerage, in fact you could say that I'm somewhat related to the Fallen angels." Lang Jin said.

"...If you could, please explain your relationship with them, and why you're in Kuoh." Sona's voice turned stern,

"...Of course, first of all, I'm not exactly a part of the Grigori, my adopted father and uncle are, they took me in, taught me some things...mostly school subjects, but they didn't force me to join their faction, as for the reason I'm in Kuoh..."

Lang Jin paused, building suspense, watching Sona tense up ever so slightly, before he shrugged. "There's no reason, my uncle and father sent me here but didn't tell me why, something about 'Experiencing Youth'."

Sona let out a sigh of relief before putting her hand on her chin. "I see... and Rias is aware of all this, correct?"

Lang Jin nodded, "Correct, part of the reason why I want to join her club, to make it easier for her to monitor me. I'm not here to become anyone's enemy, nor am I here to cause trouble, I'd prefer us to be friends."

Sona chuckled, hearing his words, before speaking, "I see... Alright then, you're welcome to stay in Kuoh for as long as you want, you have my permission as well. I hope you don't make me regret this."

Lang Jin smiled, getting up from the couch, "No, I wont. Later Sona."

"Farewell, Jin."

Lang Jin then squeezed out the door again.

Lang Jin and Akeno were going to the clubroom, Rias was holding a meeting.

As a member of the club, Lang Jin was invited by Akeno to meet the other two members of Rias Gremory's peerage, he still hadn't met them properly so it would be a first for him.

"I was wondering, what do you do after school?" Akeno questioned.

"Nothing much really, I head to the convenience store to buy food, then I sleep or watch TV, or workout sometimes."

"Doesn't that get boring?" Akeno asked curiously

"No, not really... Maybe."

"You don't have many friends do you?" Akeno teased. "I've never seen you talk to anyone at all... Are you a shy boy?"

"I don't, and no I'm not shy. I hope to make friends with you, Rias, Sona and everyone else."

Akeno giggled, "I would like that as well, big shy boy~"

Lang Jin raised an eyebrow at that last bit, but didn't comment on it. The two made it to the clubhouse because club room is an understatement.

In the room there was a new face.

A small white-haired girl, with yellow-golden eyes, she wore a blank face, clearly an underclassman.

"Hello Lang Jin, good to see you." Rias greeted with a smile sitting next to the table.

"Hi, good to see you too." Lang Jin responded before sitting on the couch next to the new girl.

"Hello, I don't believe we've met before, name's Lang Jin." He greeted the white-haired girl.

"Hi, Koneko Tojou." She responded shortly, before falling silent.

The two didn't say much else, Koneko wasn't interested in talking at all so Jin didn't bother her.

"Tea?" Akeno questioned holding a cup and a teapot.

"Sure, thank you." Jin accepted it gratefully.

"Careful it's ho-" Jin downed the cup in one go. "...Hot." Akeno finished.

"Delicious, possibly one of the best teas I've had." Jin complimented honestly, while putting down the cup.

"T-Thanks?" Akeno was a tad bit concerned. "D-Doesn't that burn?"

"Not at all, I'm okay." Jin eased her worry.

"Beast." Koneko commented from the side.

"Huh? Why?" Jin was surprised, immediately questioning her, but he got no answer just a blank look.

Rias giggled watching them getting along already, "She's right you know~ You're supposed to drink it slowly." She said it with a smile.

"...I don't get why." Jin shook his head.

"President, we're here!" A new voice, new person.

The ones who stepped inside the room where Kiba Yuuto and Issei Hyoddou.

"H-Hello!" Issei greeted before bowing nervously.

"Hello Jin, nice seeing you here." Kiba greeted him with a smile.

The two of them were aware of each other, Kiba was the most admired by the female populace due to his handsomeness, Jin was admired by the male populace because of his muscles and more manly look.

Jin did have quite a lot of female admirers too, but Kiba won that part by a landslide. Kiba was beautiful, Jin was handsome, the two bumped into each other a couple of times, exchanged a few words, and that's all it took for the girls to start shipping them together.

Someone even drew them together...

Some disturbing stuff that was, and Jin really came close to hitting someone.

"Same here, Kiba."

"N-Nice to see you again Lang Jin!" Issei greeted him wit

"Good to see you as well, Hyoddou."

Rias clapped her hands together, gaining everyone' attention.

"Now that we are all here, we welcome you to the Occult Research club Hyoddou... No wait, let me call you Issei."

"Yes!"

"Welcome to your new life...As a devil."

His face changed quickly to that of confusion and then shock, because black batlike wings emerged from everyone, except Jin.

After that, Rias decided to explain his situation a lot more clearly, she told him about the fallen angles the devils the supernatural and all that stuff.

Jin didn't listen to that part.

"The one that attacked you Amano Yuuma, is a fallen angel, and the reason she attacked was because... you possess something that is called a Sacred Gear."

Kiba then speaks.

"Sacred Gear is an irregular power that is bestowed to certain humans. For example, most of the people whose names are recorded in history are said to be possessors of a Sacred Gear. They used the power of their Sacred Gear to record their name in history."

"And Jin..." Rias turned towards him, "If you know something, could you share with us?"

Now everyone's eyes were on him, Jin thought about the question for a bit, "Of course not, as I said before I'm not a part of the Grigori, so I'm unaware of what exactly goes on... There's one thing I can say though."

"What is it?"

"The Governor of Grigori, wouldn't give out such an order." Jin said, with absolute certainty.

"What makes you say that?" Akeno questioned this time.

"I've met him a few times, didn't seem like the type of person to do that, plus killing people in another faction's territory isn't exactly a good idea, I'm pretty confident that the fallen angel that attacked Issei, was acting independently."

Rias thought about his words, before smiling. "Thank you for clearing that up.

"Now then... back to you, Issei." Rias turned her full attention back on him again, he jumped at the mention of his name.

"Issei, raise your hand, and imagine the strongest person, you know of."

"S-strongest person? Lang Jin then?"

"My my~ You have a little admirer here." Akeno tapped Jin on the shoulder.

"I'm flattered." Lang Jin said.

"Anyways, think of Lang Jin in a particular pose where he looks the strongest."

Issei raised his left arm, and flexed his... nonexistent bicep.

Jin almost burst out laughing, but he managed to hold it in.

And then, a bright green color erupted from his left forearm, blinding everyone for a second, before it disappeared as quickly as it came.

It wasn't particularly impressive, just a red gauntlet that had a green gem in it.

"Twice Critical, a very common, but a decent Sacred Gear if it's in the right hands." Jin commented.

"Indeed, it doubles the wearers strength for a certain period of time."

"S-Seriously?! This thing is that good?!" Issei asked skeptically, he was expecting something a lot cooler.

Lang Jin chuckled, once again all eyes were on him.

"Wait until he hears about other Sacred Gears." Jin said, before he looked at everyone staring at him in shock. "What is it?"

"Oh my~ The beast laughs." Akeno said.

"First time seeing that... I hope it isn't a bad omen..." Rias muttered, raising an eyebrow

Kiba just smiled nervously, sweat dripping from his forehead.

Koneko stared at him, which made Jin quite uncomfortable.

Even Issei was bewildered!

"You people are cruel." Jin said with a sigh.

"Get used to it." Koneko spoke harshly.

"Silence midget." Jin said, and wrapped his arm around her and gave her a noogie.

She struggled. A lot. Even bit his arm, before he let go with a triumphant smirk.

Koneko glared. her eyes drifting from his face to his chest, before clicking her tongue.

"Boob monster." Koneko said angrily, moving further away from him.

It was silent for a few seconds, before everyone burst into laughter even Jin laughed a bit.

Koneko had a very small almost unnoticeable smirk on her face.
