Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Yugi at His Wit's End

The monster Chumley gave me, despite its weak Attack Points, had an Effect that, if activated, could easily destroy even a powerful monster like Blue-Eyes.

Had he drawn that card? Chumley seemed to understand something from Yugi's eyes. He nodded and shouted loudly, "Go, Yugi! Let that Kaiba see the power of my Soul!"

Yugi didn't quip about Chumley's ever-increasing number of Souls. Instead, he responded with a serious nod, turning his head back to fully focus on the Duel.

"Unlike you, who stand alone, I have the power my friends bring me! This is the power of trust born from the Heart's resonance!" Yugi began with a mouthful of rhetoric, slamming a card onto the Field. "This is the power of the Heart! I'll show you right now that I can surpass your simple and pathetic power!"

"I Set one monster. End Turn!"

"Hahahahaha! Easy words, but in the end, aren't you just clinging to life? My Turn!" Glancing at the card he Drew, Kaiba once again burst into excited laughter. "It seems even destiny is on my side, Yugi! The second *Blue-Eyes White Dragon*! I Drew it!"

Turbulent air currents spread unrestrained as its wings unfurled, and the mighty *Blue-Eyes White Dragon* appeared again. Now, two of them existed on Kaiba's Field.

"With this, no matter how many walls you Summon, I can easily crush you! Attack that monster, Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

Blue-Eyes White Dragon attacked once more, its blue-white light engulfing the monster Yugi had just Summoned. But before Kaiba could continue his taunts, a pair of insect pincers suddenly emerged from the thick smoke shrouding the destroyed monster's position?

"You've fallen into my Trap, Kaiba!" Yugi's lips curved upward. "The monster I Set was (Man-Eater Bug)! When it's flipped face-up, its Effect activates! It can Target and destroy any monster on the Field!"

"Nani!? Masaka!"

"That's right! The Blue-Eyes White Dragon on your Field is what I'll destroy! Accept the resentment of the monsters you've destroyed, and sink into the Graveyard, O strongest Dragon!"

(Man-Eater Bug) emerged from the smoke. Its lower body had been obliterated by Blue-Eyes White Dragon's previous Attack, but thanks to the powerful vitality of an insect, it could still move.

Although it was only a Level 2 monster with fragile Stats of 450/600, this tiny bug bravely accepted the challenge, even against the mighty *Blue-Eyes White Dragon*.

The enormous White Dragon's throat was severed by (Man-Eater Bug)'s remaining pincer. Its holy body crumbled into dust and drifted into the Graveyard. Kaiba's Life Points, once a comfortable 1800, dropped to a mere 300 due to this Attack.

"Damn it! You destroyed my Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" Kaiba gritted his teeth, glaring at Yugi, then sneered, "Hmph, so you destroyed one Blue-Eyes White Dragon, but so what! Not only do I have another Blue-Eyes White Dragon on my Field, but a third *Blue-Eyes White Dragon* also slumbers in my Deck!"

"And you, how many more times can you Summon such annoying monsters?"

Yugi couldn't retort Kaiba's words. The hot blood that had surged from defeating one Blue-Eyes White Dragon quickly cooled.

He was right. Although he had used Chumley's power to defeat one Blue-Eyes White Dragon, another Blue-Eyes White Dragon was still on Kaiba's Field, staring him down. And there was even another Blue-Eyes White Dragon slumbering in Kaiba's Deck.

Simply Setting monsters in Defense Position couldn't last forever. Even if his Life Points were currently higher than Kaiba's, one Attack from Blue-Eyes White Dragon could finish him. He had to find a way to break through!

Yugi looked down at his Hand, the worry in his brows lingering. He had five cards in his Hand, but aside from (Gaia The Fierce Knight), which had decent Stats, and one fodder monster with less than 2000 Attack, the other three were monsters that seemed to have no apparent meaning.

'What was Grandpa thinking? He had so many more powerful monsters to choose from, why would he put these cards into the Deck?'

'Please, Grandpa, if you're watching, show me where victory might lie!'

"My Turn, Draw!" He flipped over the top card of his Deck: the (Spell Card) (Swords of Revealing Light)!

"I Activate (Swords of Revealing Light)!" Yugi played the card, and three flashing Holy Light blades descended from the sky above the sole *Blue-Eyes White Dragon* on the Field, trapping it within a sword array. "Kaiba, the *Blue-Eyes White Dragon* on your Field will be trapped for three Turns and unable to Battle!"

"It's useless, useless, useless! *Blue-Eyes White Dragon* is the strongest Monster Card! Even if it can't Attack, your monsters can't break through this high wall!" Kaiba laughed confidently. "Useless struggles! Even with three Turns, what can you do?"

"I believe my Deck will respond to my Heart!" According to the rules, if he had no monsters on his Field at the End Turn, he would directly lose the Match. Yugi Summoned (Gaia) to the Field, then Ended his Turn.

"Hey, Yugi!" Suddenly, Yugi heard Chumley shouting loudly from outside the Field.

"Chumley?"

"Yugi!" Chumley cupped his hands around his mouth like a megaphone, shouting loudly at Yugi on the high platform. "Trust your Deck! No monster is useless! Until the Millennium Puzzle is completed, no one can guess what the pattern inside is!"

"Millennium Puzzle?" Chumley's loud shout suddenly reminded Yugi of earlier that day—

After Tristan finished writing on the Millennium Puzzle and scrambled it, Joey had held one piece and said:

"If you just take out one piece of this Millennium Puzzle, you can't tell what Tristan wrote at all."

"Because a Millennium Puzzle, when you look at each piece individually, isn't very interesting. But only when the Millennium Puzzle is completed does it gain its meaning."

At the time, Téa had said this to Joey.

'Could it be, these cards are!' Yugi suddenly remembered Grandpa once telling him that there was a special type of monster in Duel Monsters that only became effective when all the pieces were gathered.

"My Turn!"

Kaiba couldn't know what Yugi was thinking. He simply Drew a card from his Deck. Seeing the Ankh, the symbol of Revive, on the card's face, Kaiba laughed triumphantly: "Hmphahaha! You're finished, YU↗GI↘!"

"I Activate the (Spell Card), (Monster Reborn)!"

"This card's Effect Revives one (Monster Card) slumbering in either player's Graveyard! Of course, I'll Revive my monster!" Kaiba wore an arrogant expression, shouting the monster's name loudly:

"Return to my Field, BLUE-EYES-WHITE-DRAGON!!!"

This kind of thing is really too much. If you don't vote, and I don't vote, when will the struggling author ever get ahead?

So, can you give me some votes?
