Chapter 276: The Strongest Sacred Beast
"I Activate my Set Card, the Quick-Play Spell Card (Forbidden Lance)!" In response to (Goblin Attack Force)'s Attack, Odion Activated his Set Card in the Back Row. "I Target (Goblin Attack Force), reducing its ATK by 800."
"And until the end of this Turn, it will not be affected by other Spell or Trap Card effects!"
Chumley's (Goblin Attack Force) on the Field had just equipped (Dragon Killer Sword) to boost its ATK. But just as they were about to declare an Attack on Odion, who had no monsters on his Field, the (Dragon Killer Sword) they held aloft suddenly transformed into a heavy holy spear, causing them to stumble.
(Goblin Attack Force) [ATK 1000 → 1700 → 200]
However, one Goblin could still barely wield the (Forbidden Lance), laboriously dragging the holy spear towards Odion, and poked Odion with the spear's butt, smugly saying, "Hmph, who says you can't stab someone to death without a spearhead?"

"Its ATK was reduced to only 200, so the damage dealt is negligible."
Chumley smiled upon hearing Odion's words, "But I never intended to rely on these Fodder monsters to deplete your LP, did I?"
"For them, just hitting you is a success. When (Goblin Attack Force) inflicts damage to you, I can Draw 1 card from my Deck."
Chumley drew a card, then activated a card: "Regardless of whether (Goblin Attack Force) inflicts damage or not, at the end of the Battle Phase in which it Attacked, the Goblins' battle will vanishes, and they switch to Defense Position."
"However, before that, I Activate the Quick-Play Spell Card (Level Change) and the Quick-Play Spell Card (Metamorphosis). The former's effect allows me to increase or decrease the Level of (Goblin Attack Force) on my Field by 1. I choose to change its Level to 5."
"Then, applying (Metamorphosis)'s effect, I send it to the Graveyard to Special Summon a Level 5 Fusion Monster." Chumley sent the (Goblin Attack Force), whose utility had been completely drained, to the Graveyard. "Special Summon Level 5 (Ojama Knight)!"
The Goblins, who had just started celebrating prematurely after inflicting only 200 points of damage, were surprised to find a giant magic circle suddenly appearing beneath their feet. Bound within the magic circle, they shattered into countless specks of light before they could even cry for help. Then, a brand-new (Ojama) monster appeared on Chumley's Field.

"(Ojama Knight)? I haven't heard of that card. Is it a Fusion (Ojama) monster like (Ojama King)?" Odion mused.
"Exactly, and (Ojama Knight)'s effect is somewhat similar to (Ojama King)'s." Chumley said, pushing the (Ojama Yellow) and (Ojama Green) cards, which were always trying to squeeze out of his Deck to join the fun, back in. "As long as (Ojama Knight) remains in Face-up Position on the Field, I can Target two of your Monster Zones and make them unusable."
Rarely did an (Ojama) monster appear dressed somewhat normally, but after (Ojama Knight) appeared, a mere hip-swivel revealed it was also a comedian. Drawing a sword from its waist, (Ojama Knight) intended to rush onto Odion's Field, to find two auspicious spots and carve its mark, reserving its place in advance.
"Don't think you'll succeed!" Odion grumbled, glancing at the pot-bellied (Ojama Knight), and Activated his fourth Set Card. "Trap Card (Defense Intersect) Activate!"
"This card can only be Activated during the Battle Phase. It can change all monsters in Defense Position on the Field to Attack Position, and their effects are Negated!"
Although Chumley had now Summoned (Ojama Knight) and intended to use its effect to block Odion's Monster Zones, it was indeed still the Battle Phase. However, rather than Chumley being too eager to end the duel and thus being negligent, it was more that Odion, who consistently employed a defensive counterattack strategy, had seized one of Chumley's rare openings.
Midway through its charge, a tripwire suddenly appeared beneath (Ojama Knight)'s feet, causing the unprepared monster to fall flat on its face. Although it wasn't seriously injured after getting up, the sword (Ojama Knight) used for carving had disappeared somewhere. Defenseless, it could only scramble back to Chumley's Field.

"You really are a Trap-heavy strategy player, to be able to counter that. You're impressive." Chumley helplessly Set two cards from his Hand on the Field. "I Set two cards, and my Turn ends."

"Before your Turn ends, I have a card effect to Activate." Odion said, activating the last Card in his Back Row. "Quick-Play Spell (Blaze of Glory), I Special Summon two (Black Flame Token)s to my Field."
Two ominous black flames ignited on Odion's Field. The flames gradually took on humanoid forms, as if alive, glaring at Chumley with fiery single eyes.

"Although (Blaze of Glory) has the negative effect that I cannot Summon, Flip Summon, or Special Summon during the Turn it's Activated, since this Card was used during your Turn, the negative effect is as if it doesn't exist." Odion said, drawing a card. "Then, my Turn begins."
Just as Odion drew his card, Chumley's pupils contracted, and his breathing subconsciously became heavy: "This feeling... it's not good."
"Last Turn, he could have used (Blaze of Glory) to Summon (Black Flame Token)s to block (Goblin Attack Force)'s Attack. Instead, he chose to Use (Forbidden Lance) to reduce my monster's ATK and take damage to his own LP, just to keep those two (Black Flame Token)s."
"And this feeling... could it be!"
Chumley's eyes widened, and he suddenly shouted at Odion across from him: "Hey Odion, don't Summon that monster!"
However, Odion seemed not to hear Chumley's words. He merely closed his eyes and murmured: "Marik-sama, please watch carefully, my duel!"
"Normal Summon (Gravekeeper's Guard), then Activate a card effect from my Hand, Tributing three Fiend-Type monsters on my Field — (Gravekeeper's Guard) and two (Black Flame Token)s!"
"Special Summon the strongest Sacred Beast I possess, (Raviel, Lord of Phantasms)!"
