In the half day spent with Feiduan, Fang Zheng had a deep understanding of the guy's personality. This guy was exactly like his character from the original story, even more talkative than before, with his mouth never stopping throughout the journey.
Unlike Sasori and Fang Cang, who showed respect towards him, Feiduan didn't show a bit of respect for anyone. He was completely laid-back, addressing Fang Zheng as "big brother" without any formality. But one couldn't deny, Feiduan's abilities were truly monstrous.
After the system's critical hit, Feiduan received terrifying enhancements. Previously, if his head was decapitated, he would need to rely on Kakuzu to sew it back on. But now, he could control his head and return it to his neck for self-healing. Not only that, Feiduan was now immune to most illusions, and when performing his "Death Command through Blood," he no longer had to draw circles as before; just a drop of blood was enough.
With his counterattack ability and self-healing powers, Feiduan was like a hedgehog, covered in spikes, attack him, and you'll be hurt by the reflection; don't attack, and he'll curse you using his blood techniques, gaining an advantage in battle. It was like he was somewhat invincible.
As night fell, after a long day of traveling, Fang Zheng and Feiduan found a small inn to rest. Fang Zheng lay on the hard bed, staring at the dark ceiling, his mind filled with confusion. His cultivation was still stuck at the Foundation Building stage, and his training had made him realize just how weak his talents were.
If he compared himself to others, his speed of cultivation and his spiritual root were far worse. Others advanced like rockets, but he was stuck in place, making slow, almost hopeless progress. Fang Zheng felt completely lost, not knowing how to proceed on his path. His mind was filled with thoughts, but none of them seemed to lead anywhere, and he tossed and turned, struggling to fall asleep.
Just as he was about to give in to his frustration and anxiety, there was a sudden knock on the door. Fang Zheng frowned, already irritated. Then, Feiduan's loud voice came through the door: "Big brother, are you asleep?"
The voice felt especially grating in the quiet night. Fang Zheng, annoyed, thought to himself, "Why can't he just quiet down at night?" He decided to ignore Feiduan, hoping he'd get the hint and leave. But Feiduan clearly didn't get the message. When there was no response, he knocked even harder, shouting again, "Big brother, are you asleep?"
This time, Fang Zheng lost it completely. His temples bulged, and he cursed inwardly. He angrily got out of bed, switched on the light, and dragged himself to the door. As soon as he opened it, he was met with Feiduan's silly face, looking innocent yet expectant, like a naive dog.
Fang Zheng's emotions exploded, and he shouted, "What the hell do you want?!"
Feiduan, seemingly oblivious to Fang Zheng's anger, scratched his head and said innocently, "It's nothing, big brother, I just wanted to ask if you're asleep."
Hearing this only made Fang Zheng more furious. He had always thought Feiduan was a bit off, but now that he saw him up close, it was clear, this guy's brain wasn't working right.
Fang Zheng mentally complained, "How come the system didn't enhance his brain during the upgrade? This is just adding to my stress."
With that, Fang Zheng snapped, "Get the hell out of here! Go off and grow on your own! Don't stick around me! Get as far away as you can!"
He kicked Feiduan with all his might, sending him flying out of the room. The impact was so strong that Feiduan crashed through the inn's wall, and even the ceiling was left with a big hole.
Fang Zheng stood at the door, glaring at the flying Feiduan and shouted, "Get lost, and don't come back!"
Feiduan, feeling depressed, muttered to himself as he brushed off the dust from his clothes and aimlessly wandered in the night. His mind suddenly recalled Fang Zheng's parting words, "Go grow on your own."
His eyes lit up with realization: "Does this mean I can go and establish the Cult of the Evil God now? Hehe!"
With this thought, Feiduan suddenly became excited. His previously sluggish steps now turned light and swift. He hummed a random tune as he skipped off to find "worthy people" to join his newly established cult.
It didn't take long before Feiduan charged into a forest filled with demonic beasts. The towering trees blocked most of the moonlight, casting eerie spots of light on the ground. A dangerous aura filled the air, but Feiduan didn't care at all. He darted around the forest like a headless fly, not planning to stop anytime soon.
By morning, Feiduan had encountered several Foundation Building demon beasts. Initially, Feiduan was hopeful, thinking he could recruit these beasts to join his cult. He smiled warmly and walked towards one, but before he could speak, the beast attacked him, claws bared.
Feiduan sighed helplessly, "Sigh, since you guys are so ungrateful, don't blame me for offering you to the Evil God."
Without hesitation, Feiduan struck, and in the blink of an eye, the demon beast became a sacrifice for the Evil God.
Later, Feiduan encountered several Golden Core demon beasts, which were smarter and more dangerous. Feiduan thought this would be his chance to talk, but as soon as the beasts saw him, they immediately attacked without saying a word.
Feiduan had no choice but to fight back, and after a few rounds, the Golden Core beasts realized they couldn't win and fled. Feiduan stomped his feet in frustration, "Why are you running? At least let me finish talking!"
But despite his complaints, Feiduan's search for followers continued. He took a deep breath and pressed forward, thinking to himself, "I refuse to believe I can't find anyone willing to join the Cult of the Evil God!"
