Chapter 90 - Potion Master, Infinite Synergy

By the time Robb left the examination hall, the sky had turned to dusk.

A brand-new Professional Potion Master badge gleamed on his chest, and his mood was nothing short of elated.

He strolled along the stone path back to his dorm, mentally reviewing everything he had learned today and planning his next steps.

"Potion Master… next is to formally complete the profession transition on the interface."

He spoke softly, fingers tracing the fine engravings on the badge.

Once back in his room, he immediately threw himself into the preparation process.

According to his prior research, the final requirement for officially becoming a Potion Master was to independently craft three advanced potions.

And right now, he was preparing to brew one such potion, Cognitive Ascension Elixir.

This potion temporarily boosted mental acuity and was highly valued in the field of spell formulation and conceptual design.

It was one of the harder advanced potions to make, but with his Mastery level in Basic Alchemy and Adept level Potion Brewing skills, it should be well within reach.

Robb took out several rare ingredients he'd purchased at the marketplace and began prepping them according to the formula.

Fruitless Flower Pollen had to be soaked under a focused magi-crystal lamp; Velvet Root Tendrils had to be delicately sliced with a silver knife.

Other rare materials also required their own specialized handling methods.

By the time moonlight poured through the window late at night, Robb began the actual brewing process.

As the potion gradually took form, a strange energy began to gather in the small crucible.

The liquid changed from cloudy to clear, eventually becoming a deep, abyssal blue, so deep it felt like staring into the void.

[Potion Brewing EXP +1]

Looking at the final product, Robb exhaled with relief.

This was the most complex potion he had brewed on his own. Though there were several moments of near-failure, the end result was highly satisfying.

And with this, combined with two other advanced potions he had already made, he had completed the final requirement:

[✔ Independently crafted three advanced potions]

"All requirements for profession transition are fulfilled."

Robb closed his eyes and mentally confirmed: Transition to Potion Master.

In the next moment, a powerful wave of energy burst within his body.

Unlike his earlier transition to Alchemy Apprentice, this transformation felt deeper and more intense.

He could feel his understanding of Alchemy undergoing a fundamental evolution. All the knowledge he had accumulated now formed a vast neural network in his mind, each node interconnected.

A strange new perception flooded in, he could "sense" the interactions between ingredients, like seeing invisible threads connecting various materials.

[Profession Transition Complete!]

[New Profession Acquired: Potion Master (Two-Star)]

[Base Attribute Increase:]

Spirit: 3.2 → 3.5 (+0.3)

Mana: 1.0 → 1.2 (+0.2)

Combined with a previous +0.2 Spirit boost from meditation, he was now noticeably closer to the 4.0 Spirit threshold required for High Apprentice.

Robb blinked, fully aware of the dramatic changes happening inside him.

"Compared to the gentle boost from Alchemy Apprentice (One-Star), this Two-Star promotion really hits hard."

He sat down and opened his profession panel, carefully analyzing the bonuses granted by becoming a Potion Master.

Aside from the clear attribute gains, the real value was in the special profession bonuses:

[Special Bonuses:]

Moderate increase in EXP gain for potion-related skills

Slight increase in ingredient efficiency

Slight increase in inspiration for potion formula modification

These bonuses not only improved upon those from the Apprentice tier, they introduced entirely new dimensions.

"Especially the third one, increased inspiration for formula modification."

Robb stroked his chin thoughtfully. "That's definitely meant for developing more advanced potions later."

[Basic Alchemy (Mastered Max) → Advance Alchemy (Adept 1/300)]

He noticed that Basic Alchemy had automatically advanced to Advance Alchemy, resetting proficiency to 1/300.

But the previous trait, Deep Knowledge, had not disappeared, it remained active. And the tree-like advancement diagram for profession branching hadn't gone dim or become locked either.

"Just as I thought," Robb's eyes lit up. "Profession progression doesn't give new core skills, it upgrades existing ones and retains traits!"

This confirmed his previous theory: choosing one advancement path didn't block off the others.

His eyes gleamed with excitement: "That means I can multi-class into different profession branches and gain stacking stat boosts and unique abilities!"

The possibilities thrilled him. In a world dominated by supernatural power, having access to multiple synergistic paths could offer unprecedented advantage.

Of course, he was also clear-headed enough to realize that, with his current strength and time, he couldn't afford to advance every path simultaneously.

He would need to prioritize and focus on the most essential core skills first.

"Still, this opens up so many more options." Robb gazed at his status screen, full of anticipation.

After all, time was on his side. Now that he could reset mental corruption, and once he became a full-fledged sorcerer, his lifespan would extend for centuries,

Not to mention the higher tiers of Grand Mage, Arch-Mage, and beyond… to the legendary Infernal Gods outside the multiverse.

If he reached that level, and had thousands, maybe tens of thousands, of years or even eternity, he'd have the time to explore every possibility…

A cool breeze from the Black Mist Forest drifted in through the window, refreshing and clear.

Robb glanced around the cramped room and felt a faint trace of sentimentality. He had stayed in this shabby place for nearly a year, but now, he would soon move on.

...

Morning.

Robb picked up his ironwood training sword for his usual morning routine, and instantly noticed his sword control had become noticeably sharper.

[New Profession Synergy Unlocked:]

Potion Master (Two-Star) + Knight Apprentice + Wizard Apprentice

Gained Additional Synergy Effects:

Slight increase in potion absorption efficiency

Slight boost to mental control

Every sword strike now aligned perfectly with his breathing. The coordination between mind and body had reached a new level.

[Basic Swordcraft EXP +1]

[Current Progress: Basic Swordcraft (Adept 97/100)]

"So it seems the synergy between Potion Master and Knight isn't just about potion buffs," Robb mused.

"Improved mental control has positive effects on all my skills."

During spell construction, he also found that he could now fine-tune his mental energy flow more precisely, which made his sonic resonance spells more stable and energy-efficient.

He took a sip from the half-bottle of Mental Stabilizer on his desk.

Oddly enough, the potion's effect now felt subtly longer and more potent.

Previously, this dose would last around an hour. But now, he could clearly sense that its effectiveness had increased by at least 30%.

"A happy bonus," he muttered.

A bold idea flashed in his mind: What if he could eventually class into a Bloodline Knight and fully master Sorcerer spellcraft? Would it be possible to fuse all three paths into one unified system?

"Potions rapidly boost the body and mind. Knights provide physical resilience to bear greater power. Sorcerers control and orchestrate it all…"

His eyes lit up with possibility: "Knight, Sorcerer, Potion Master, three paths in harmony. And that's just the beginning."

Robb could clearly see it now: as his profession system developed, the synergies would only grow stronger:

Magic could be imbued into weapons, giving physical attacks elemental damage

Potions could augment the body to withstand greater magical currents

Spirit and body could grow together, forming a perfect supernatural feedback loop

All of this… was possible thanks to his infinite profession slot system.

"Maybe I can carve out a path that has never existed before."

A spark of determination lit up his gaze.

"No longer bound by the limits of traditional knights or mages, I'll forge my own power system."

Because in a world where power rules all, only by becoming strong enough could he protect everything he held dear.

"The dividends of infinite profession synergy are even richer than I imagined…"

Gripping his training sword, Robb decided to take advantage of the lingering potion effects and practice his swordsmanship a bit more.

He was only a step away from his next breakthrough, and then he could begin preparing for his next transition: Bloodline Knight.
