Lauran:
"What do you mean? š¶"
Amber:
"You think I'll just trust you⦠and hand over my child?
Just like that? š"
Lauran faltered, unable to respond.
Amber:
"I trusted Mrs. Devisāthat's why I left my child behind.
Not because of you." š
Her voice sharpened.
"But when you tore the last page of the curse bookā¦
I knew there was someone else playing their little gameā¦
Right from inside the house." š
Lauran:
"ā¦But everything was perfect⦠šØ"
Amber:
"Perfect? Ha. No one had the audacity to step inside the William Houseā¦
You know why? š
I found out everything the moment I saw you trying to poison Megan." š
Megan:
"ā¦š¶"
Lauran:
"No way⦠š¶"
Amber:
"To control a true soul⦠a touch is needed.
But to ride it away? You need a life partner's touch."
She turned to Megan, a sly smile on her lips.
"Am I right?" š
Megan:
"ā¦Sis⦠how did you find out? š¶"
Amber's eyes softened just a fraction.
Amber:
"Don't worry, Megan. I have my ways.
No one⦠not even Laurant⦠is ever going to scare me." š
She stepped closer to Laurant, voice low but venomous.
Amber:
"You tried to frame me, tried to poison my sister, and split the familyā¦
Do you really think you could hide that from me?"
Lauran's sneer faltered.
Her carefully constructed plan, her manipulations⦠all crumbling in front of Amber.
Amber:
"Dear Laurant⦠remember this.
You messed with the wrong family.
And the only thing I fear⦠is nothing." š
The room fell into silence.
Megan watched, awed, as Amber's aura radiated power and control.
Lauran's eyes darted around, realizing for the first time that she had seriously underestimated the true queen of the William-Devis saga.
