Grayson couldn't blink his eyes while the guards were taking him inside. Emery also went inside with Grayson, though she didn't want to. The dimly lit corridor led them to a stark, cold room with metal walls and a single flickering fluorescent light overhead. The air was heavy with the scent of disinfectant and echoed with the distant hum of machinery. A small table with two chairs stood in the center, surrounded by surveillance cameras mounted in every corner.
Lila and Clara start investigating the matter. This was the second assassination attempt on Grayson, and they were unable to do anything.
Lila tried to find the sniper's origin, but she was unable to find any ties to Mr. Richard or Marcus.
After thorough effort, she found the offshore account from which the sniper was paid to do the job.
Shockingly, the account was linked to the name "Blackwell."
"What? Are you sure Lila?". Grayson asked as he was on the phone with Lila.
His heart pumped out of his chest, and he couldn't breathe. After listening to Lila, he couldn't feel his legs, so he fell on the sofa beside him.
"Yes, sir, that is what it is," Lila answered, confused as to why Grayson reacted like that.
The account was linked to the father of Grayson, "The Ghosted Billionaire".
"It's my father pulling the strings," Grayson said in a low voice. He felt dizzy over his head.
He couldn't believe that his father would come before him. He recalled old memories of him with his father and how he always disregarded and never accepted him as his son. Grayson felt a mix of betrayal and sorrow as he grappled with the revelation. His father's disdain had always haunted him, but he never imagined it would escalate to dangerous extremes. Despite the years of estrangement, a part of him had hoped for reconciliation, making this discovery all the more devastating.
As soon as he gets a little bit better.
A fire raged inside him. He decided to confront his father and seek revenge for all the wrongs his father had done to him since his birth.
"Hey Lila, ehh, I need you to get all the information about what has happened now. I will not spare anyone who tries to kill me". Grayson called Lila.
"Okay, Sir, I am on it. Don't worry; I will find him"." Lila spooked, trying to calm Grayson down.
Grayson couldn't tell Lila that his father was behind all of this. The words froze in his mouth, and he couldn't speak.
As the situation worsened, Emery decided to leave the place quickly and not get involved in this mess further. She decided to go home and warn her family.
The next day
As Grayson prepares for the war, he learns about a potential traitor in his office who has been leaking his information all along.
"Sir, it's time you should grab him by his neck". Clara's eyes were filled with rage.
Grayson stormed into the employee's cabin, grabbing him by the neck. The traitor's eyes widened in shock as Grayson's grip tightened, his voice a low growl filled with fury. "Why did you betray me?" Grayson demanded, his face mere inches from the quivering Employee's. The traitor stammered, trying to explain, but the fear in his eyes betrayed the guilt that words could not conceal.
"Hhehehe, you will never be able to catch him." An evil smile on the face of the employee.
In a second, the device planted close to the heart of the Employee beeped and burst, throwing Grayson away while the Employee died on the spot.
The voice of the burst echoed in the whole office.
Sarah ran from her office towards the cabin. She saw Grayson and Clara fall to the ground. She quickly grabbed Grayson's hand and tried to stand him up, while Lila also went into the cabin and tried to lift Clara.
There was smoke all over the cabin, and they all coughed heavily. Sarah placed Rudy's hand around her shoulder and dragged Grayson out while the ambulance got there. Sarah's heart raced with fear and urgency as she rushed toward the cabin. Her mind was a whirlwind of panic and determination, desperate to ensure Grayson's safety. Despite the chaos and smoke, she focused solely on getting him out, her adrenaline-fueled resolve overpowering any hesitation.
Grayson got laid down on the stretcher, and they both went to the Hospital. Grayson was severely hurt in his hands and his face from the explosion.
At Richard's mansion.
"Dad, we underestimated him. He is not normal. We should stay away from him," Emery said, struggling to control her breath.
"You should not worry and leave it to me. I will not spare him". Mr. Richard remains arrogant and decides not to step back.
"Sir, it's very critical news. Someone has hacked all of our company's offshore accounts and drawn all the money out of them. The accounts are now empty." Meanwhile, they got a call from their office.
Mr. Richard was shocked to hear this. "How is it possible?". He threw the phone away from him.
"Ahhh, the bastard has turned everything against us," Mr. Richard shouted, throwing the glass towards the smashed window. The sound of the burst echoed inside the hall, and everyone was silent.
"I told you guys. What will we do now?". Emery sat down on the sofa. The pain in her voice was evident.
This was the first move of Grayson to cripple Richard's empire.
Later That Day
Marcus, still behind the bar, receives the news. An unexpected visitor.
Jordan Steele.
"I have the same mission as you: to see Grayson begging for mercy. I need your help to bring him down." Jordan started speaking. His fists were clenched, and the rage in his eyes was evident.
"I know you also want the same as why we should work together. I will help you get out of here". He added
"Grayson isn't just playing the game. He's rewriting the rules," Jordan warns.
The two strike a deal: They'll free Marcus from prison and take down Grayson from the inside.
At Hospital,
Grayson receives an envelope.
"You're still just a pawn in my game."...
