Chapter 36 - Heir Unaware, Part 2

There was a crack as Cassie Apparated Harry into her bedroom in Malfoy Manor. Harry was surprised at how uncomfortable her bedroom was.

It was mostly dark gray stone bricks comprising the walls and the floors were of similar construction.

"Um… homely." Harry said. Cassie laughed.

"Malfoy Manor is far from homely." Cassie said dryly, and she grasped Harry's hand.

"Come on. No one's home." she said, tugging him out of the room.

They emerged into the hallway and Harry saw a house elf with big eyes like tennis balls.

"Dobby!" Cassie ordered, "Tell no one you saw him here."

"Yes, miss!" the house elf, Dobby, complied, and kept walking with the stack of towels he carried.

Cassie, still leading Harry by the hand, guided him three doors down the hall, and opened it up to reveal a similarly grim room as Cassie's, except this one had a crib.

Cassie led him up to the crib, and she leaned against him. His arm lifted up to slide around her waist.

"She's beautiful." Harry said, beaming.

Harry and Cassie's ten month old daughter giggled when Harry leaned over her crib.

"Her name's Stella." Cassie whispered.

"Like a star. Following the tradition of naming Black family members after stars." Harry noticed. Cassie's smile widened.

"Yes, it does mean star. Stella is also a flower." Cassie said. Harry looked at her, amazed.

"Like my mom's family. How did you-" Harry asked, but he was cut off by Cassie kissing him.

"I never once imagined growing up that I would fall in love with somebody just over four years my junior." Cassie said, her hand coming up to rest on Harry's cheek, "Or that I would have his baby. I guess I always somehow thought, no, somehow feared that I would end up like my mother. Married to a man I didn't love, who I could hardly tolerate."

"I won't let you end up like that." Harry vowed.

"How? You're betrothed to Daphne Greengrass, so it's not like you could marry me, scandal aside." Cassie said.

"Cassie Malfoy. I would take an Unbreakable Vow right now saying that I will not let you end up in a loveless marriage like your mother." Harry said, and Cassie smiled.

"You are so, so sweet, Harry. There's not a man in this world I love more than you. But not even you can stop something like a marriage contract." Cassie said.

"Wizards have taken multiple wives in the past. I'll take you as my wife if I have to. It might be a struggle to have a gorgeous woman like you in my bed every night, but I can make some sacrifices." Harry said seriously.

Cassie laughed, and Harry tugged the older girl in for a long, sizzling kiss.

"Come on, hold Stella." Cassie murmured after the kiss. Harry leaned down and picked up his daughter, cradling her in her arms. Cassie slipped her arms around him, and she squeezed him from behind.

The door flew open abruptly, and Harry, Cassie, and Stella all looked towards the sound.

A woman stood in the doorway, a woman Harry recognized as Narcissa Malfoy, Cassie's mum and the youngest sister of Harry's Aunts Bella and Andi. Technically, they weren't his aunts, and he only called them that because of their close relationship with their mother. Narcissa and Lily weren't close like that, so she wasn't Aunt Narcissa to Harry.

Narcissa was just as pretty as her two elder sisters, though she didn't look much like them. She had light blond hair and pale blue eyes, with large, round breasts that were the smallest of the three Black sisters, though they were certainly not small.

"I suppose I should have known." Narcissa said simply.

Cassie and Harry exchanged looks.

"Known what?" Harry asked, trying to surreptitiously hand Stella to Cassie.

"That my daughter would sleep around with you, despite you being four years younger." Narcissa said venomously.

"You can't tell anyone, Mother. Please. You'll just cause a scandal for no reason." Cassie pleaded. Narcissa laughed.

"Do you think I am so hungry for attention that I would run to tell that Skeeter bitch that my daughter fucked a Potter?" Narcissa raised her brows.

"Father might." Cassie said quietly. Narcissa looked thoughtful.

"He would disgrace Cassie, make her look like some kind of monster in the papers, to get back at her. You must know that." Harry said.

Narcissa looked at Harry.

"I have never understood my sisters' fondness for you. But I can respect you trying to protect my daughter." Narcissa said.

"So, you won't tell him?" Cassie asked hopefully.

"No. I will not tell Lucius or Draco." Narcissa said firmly, "But I do not know how you expect your daughter to know her father if her family does not know her father. Will she only see him when the family is out of the house?"

"I don't know yet, Mother." Cassie admitted.

Narcissa looked at Harry.

"I am not a woman who favors you, but I also do not believe my granddaughter should grow up fatherless. I am not a monster, despite the man I am married to." Narcissa said.

"So… what's your plan?" Harry asked. Narcissa looked evenly at Cassandra and Stella.

"Cassandra, you are an adult now. There is no reason you must live with your family." Narcissa said.

"What?" Cassie asked.

"You should move in with one of your aunts. It will irritate your father, but there is no reason that he would hunt after you, and because of their relationship with the Potters, you and my granddaughter would be able to see Harry. If you chose Andromeda, she would be able to help with Stella. Bellatrix… I suppose she must have played some part in raising your lover." Narcissa said.

"Mother… thank you." Cassie said, happily.

"I'll be honest. I always thought you were Aunt Bella and Aunt Andi's evil sister. Thank you for proving me wrong." Harry said.

"You are a Slytherin, Harry. You should recognize that the world is not comprised of black and whites." Narcissa said, and then her full lips curved into a slight smile and she adopted an almost teasing tone, "You being a Slytherin may be the only redeemable thing about you. Don't start acting like a Gryffindor."

With those parting words, Narcissa Malfoy turned and left the trio alone.

"She likes you." Cassie said warmly.

"What?" Harry asked, confused.

"My mother. She likes you. Ordinarily she's cold and lifeless. I've never heard her sound… playful." Cassie said.

"It must be my unavoidable charm." Harry grinned, and him and Cassie kissed again.

"So… where does my Aunt Andromeda live?" Cassie wondered.
